Shopping Gone Wrong

"L-let me go you scum!" The man yelled at the top of his lungs as I approached him on slow slides. Sweats filled his face and his entire body as the hotness of the flames keep increasing every second.

"I should let you go?" I asked with a wide grin plastered on my face. "Why should I let you go when I am yet to give you a parting gift?"

"W-hat do you mean?" He asked.

I didn't say a word to him and simply pointed my sword at him, remembering how he tried to touch Rina with his hands, my face turned sour. I had promised to slice off those hands of his and that, I am about to do.

"I'll show you what I mean," I replied with a sinister smile and swung my sword at him.

"Ahh!" The man let out an ear-piercing cry as both of his hands fell to the ground and caught fire. He stared in horror as blood gushed out from the open cut, "You—" He wanted to speak but he couldn't, perhaps, he was too shocked to say a word.

"How do you like my parting gift?" I asked and chuckled. "This is what you get for trying to touch my property. I would have left you here to suffer more but I fear you might be saved and so to avoid future problems, I'll end everything now!" I didn't wait for him to reply and then drove the sword straight into his chest, where the heart is supposed to be.

I waited for the man to fall dead before wiping the blood off my sword and then running off to meet Rina and the rest.

"Did I keep you waiting for long?" I asked with a smirk as I approached Rina who raised an eyebrow at me.

"Why did you waste much time?" She inquired.

"I was making sure to clean up the mess," I whispered close to her ears. She shuddered slightly and moved backwards, I grinned at her and then became serious as the other people were approaching us.

"Kid, we didn't know that you are a mage," The young man to who I had entrusted the safety of the passengers said as he and the rest of the people approached us. "We are sorry for initially looking down on you," he apologised.

"Yes, we are sorry!"

"Yes!"

Looking at them and how they were apologising, I clicked my tongue mentally and decided to not drag the issue, after all, it was not their fault. If I should drag it, it'll make me look less manly, especially in front of Rina.

"Well, that's enough! The deed has already been done and I don't need your apologies, I had to do what I did not because of you but because of her so I don't expect any of you to think much about it," I glanced at Rina as I replied to them. Rina immediately looked away as her cheeks turned red.

"Eh, we all know that you did it for your sis—"

"Point of correction, she's not my sister!" I spoke not allowing the man to finish his sentence.

"I'm sorry for the mistake, but even at that, we are grateful," the man replied.

"Fine then, suit yourselves," I replied and then walked back into the bus together with Rina who was still chuckling because they referred to her as my sister. "You know that's not funny," I told her with a slight frown on my face.

"It isn't?" She asked. "Well, I don't know about you, but to me, it is!" She then chuckled and climbed into the bus. I sighed and followed her into the bus.

The others came in as well and then we drove off immediately, continuing on our journey to wherever we were going. During the drive, people would occasionally turn to glance at me and I was getting pretty tired of it, I only hoped to get to our destination as fast as possible.

As if the heavens were on my side, we reached our destination after an hour time and we all alighted from the bus. The other passengers thanked me again and then left for their business while I and Rina went on our way.

I was still curious about the shopping but Rina insisted on not telling me and that's how I began to follow her around the large city like a sheep following its shepherd.

I followed her until we got to a particular store and then we went in, it was then I found that it was not the shopping I had expected. How disappointed I was and wished I could go back home, it would be better if I had stayed back with Ruben than following her and then ending up being disappointed.

I stayed by the corner of the store and watched in disappointment how she bought all the things she needed for her inn.

"Hey, why is your face swollen?" She asked me after we might have finished getting all that she needed from the store.

"Don't even ask me," I replied and walked past her. I was still upset about the turn of events and the time wasted by coming here.

"Is it about the shopping?" She asked as she ran up to me. I still ignored her and then I heard her chuckle, "Hey, come on. . . I only needed someone to accompany me. Okay fine, how do I make it up to you?"

When I heard her question, I halted and then turned to face her. A smile curved up on my lips as an idea popped up in my mind.

"How about we go have fun?" I asked, still smiling. "This is how you'll make it up to me, so don't even think of saying no!"

"And what kind of fun is that?" She asked with her brows raised.

"How about we go to a pub or something?" I asked with a smirk. "Let's get drunk since it's almost noon, we can pass the night there and go back tomorrow morning."

"But isn't that a bit not okay?" She asked. I knew she wanted to make me change my mind, but at this moment, nothing could make me change my mind.

I have always wanted to know her real self — how good or bad she is, this might be my only chance to get what I want from her and so I wasn't going to miss this opportunity.

"We agreed that you won't reject the offer so don't even think of coming up with any excuse!"

"Bu—"

"No buts! Come, let's go find a good place to have fun!"
