The Race!

Soon both the vehicles came out of the cities and were on the country roads.

"HEY RAYYY!!" So Hee yelled from her seat as she brought her Jeep onto the side of the Ray's car. He slowed down.

"Let's have a race!!" Ye Rin shouted.

"YEAHHH!!!" Both Chan Woo and Dae Won cheered in the backseats of the car while So Hee, April and Hana were hurraying from the Jeep.

"WHAT?" Mia yelled. "No guys, we are not going to race."

Everyone looked at her disappointed.

"Don't give me those faces; I don't want to start this trip with a Traffic Police catching us!" She shouted so everyone from both the vehicles could hear.

"Oh Mia!" So Hee said while trying to keep her Jeep at a safe distance from Ray's car. "This is not a city! There are no traffic police here in the middle of nowhere."

Mia looked at everyone, "But…"

A question was still there in her eyes as she looked at Ray who gave her an assuring nod.

She again looked at everyone.

"Oh come on Mommy!�� So Hee yelled.

"What?" Mia looked at her offended.

So Hee pulled down her sunglasses on her nose and just shrugged her shoulders.

Mia looked at Ray, "What are you waiting for huh? The Race is ON!!!"

So Hee smiled to herself as her trick had worked.

"Yaaaayyyyy!!!!!!!!!" Everyone cheered.

"The first one to reach the high way wins. And the winner gets to choose the rooms first!" Ye Rin said. As soon as those words were said, So Hee pushed hard on the accelerator and within seconds she was talking with the wind.

"Hey! NOT FAIR!!" Mia yelled as Ray also sped up.

So Hee took the lead from the beginning as Ray was just behind her.

"Wooooo!!!" Everyone sitting in the back of the Jeep was screaming joyfully.

Now, even Jun and Mu Yeol were enjoying themselves.

"FASTER! FASTER!!! RAY!!" Chan Woo and Dae Won were cheering.

Ray tried to overtake but every time he tried, So Hee blocked him.

Now April and Jun had stood up in excitement, holding the bar above them.

"Seems like you are gonna lose guys!!" Jun yelled in excitement.

"Yeah! It seems like both the school toppers, Mia and Ray are going to be the loooosers!!!!" April said making fun of them.

"Haha!!" On which Ray genuinely laughed making Mia glare at him.

"What the heck are you doing? WE GOTTA WIN THIS RACE!!" Her eyes were literally spitting fire.

Chan Woo and Dae Won exchanged glances; they had never seen Mia being so much competitive and aggressive.

'What's wrong with her?' Ray thought as he said, "Oh..Okay…But cool down there…" He laughed awkwardly as his eyes got pinned on the road again.

'Her first demand ever. I have to win this thing!' He decided to himself.

After 15 minutes, both the vehicles were stopped just 50 meters prior to the high-way, as a traffic police bike was standing before them.

"Both of you are fined for speeding." The coarse voiced traffic police said as he tore the receipts and held them in the front. "Is this a way to drive? The kids these days are just a headache!!" He was frustrated.

"Sorry officer." Both So Hee and Ray bowed down several times as they quietly paid the fine and came back to others who were still sitting in their seats.

Everyone was silent, no one was saying anything.

The police got on his bike and drove off and as soon as he did that, everyone burst into laughter.

"Hahaha!!"

"Hehehe!!!"

"So?" Ye Rin broke into the middle. "Who's the winner?"

"Are we still on that?" Hana asked.

"I think both the teams disqualified." Mu Yeol said.

"No no no." So Hee came into the front. "I clearly won this race!"

"And why is that?" Ray asked.

"Because, I was ahead of you, the police saw me first, he first stopped my Jeep and I first paid the fine!"

"What? That's nonsense. We haven't reached the highway yet." Chan Woo said.

"What? It's only 50 m away. If the police wouldn't have come, I would have won the race clearly!" So Hee said.

"Come on! Face it guys!" Mia said. "Just like Mu Yeol said, both the teams have disqualified."

"I'm with So Hee on this." Jun said. "We won this race!"

Mia looked at him with frowned face.

"Yeah!" Everyone except Mu Yeol, from team So Hee agreed.

"No No No!" Chan Woo and Dae won kept denying the defeat.

"Wait guys." Ray came in the middle. " I think I…I admit that So Hee has won!"

"WHAT?"

"Yeah. I mean for this whole race, I've been trying hard to win but I gotta say that So Hee was great! I mean I just couldn't over take her. So I think…I just admit my defea—"

"IN YOUR FACE!!!" So Hee said pointing towards Chan Woo and Dae Won. "YESS!!!"

"Yayyyy!!!" Everyone from team So Hee cheered in excitement.

April got up in excited and raised her hand towards Jun to do a high five. But while doing that she stumbled in the bags which were kept down at her legs and she fell on Jun.

Before Jun could do anything April had already fallen on him.

"I am sorry. I am sorry." She hurriedly apologized, trying to get up.

He gently held her shoulders and helped her get up.

She pushed back her hair. "Sorry!" She said again.

"It's fine. But are you okay?" He asked worriedly.

"Yeah yeah. I'm..I'm fine…" She said getting back in her seat.

Everyone was busy cheering for their victory so no one paid much attention to this but Mia was just looking at all this with a blank face.

She didn't know what was wrong but the moment April had fallen on Jun, she felt like her heart skipped a bit.

And she had no clue that Ray had seen her reaction and her face during that whole thing.

"Here we are guys!!!" April opened the doors and as soon as everyone entered their jaws dropped down in disbelief.

"Woahhhh!!!"

It was April's father's beach-house, which he agreed to give her keys to for their reunion.

The huge wide glass-doors in the living room were showing the vast sea-shore spread before them.

The sound of the waves and the little taste of the salt were in the air.

The bright sunlight was entering from the skylight brightening the whole room.

"This is Awesome!!" Chan Woo said as he walked towards the glass-door.

"Look at the beach man!" Dae Won exclaimed as he opened those doors and everyone went out on the deck.

"Beautiful!" Hana smiled to herself as they all were enjoying the view.

"This is a great place, April." Mu Yeol said. "Say, thank you to your father from all of us."

"Oh come on!" April said shyly. "Don't be so formal."

"Besides—" So Hee came in the middle. "Thank me! I was the one who gave the idea. Isn't that right, April?"

"Hehe. Yeah…"

"By the way…" Ye Rin said, "I gotta say April, your father's and my tastes are really similar." She looked behind at April and winked jokingly.

"Let's see the whole place. I'll show you around." April said bringing everyone inside.

When everyone was walking in she saw Jun standing at the railing and looking at the sea, lost in his thoughts.

She went closer, "Jun?"

"Oh!" He looked back startled. "April..."

"What happened? Are you okay?" She asked,

"Yeah…yeah…I'm fine…It's just that, this is really beautiful…"

Unknowingly, she was smiling looking at him.

"Thanks for doing all this. I mean, I guess we all needed a break like this." He said and looked back at the sea.

"I'm relieved that you liked it." She said; the smiled was still resting on her face. "Come on, I'll show you the place, we'll settle down first and then we have whole two days to enjoy the view."

"Yeah…" He took a deep breath and then turned back to her. "Let's go!" He smiled wide.
