The Beach Trip (Part 2)

"Let's play Volleyball guys." April said. "Ray, I told you to bring the volleyball, right?"

"Oh yeah! It's there." He ran where the So Hee was lying and enjoying the sun. He picked up the ball kept next to her. "Aren't you coming?" He asked.

She slid down her sunglasses and looked at him, "Why not, sure!" She said. "I've been waiting for you to ask me."

"Huh?"

"Just kidding, sweetie."

She quickly got up and took the ball from his hands.

Both of them came back to others.

"We have to make teams." Dae Won said.

"Let's do it, Jun and Ray, you guys come in the front." Ye Rin said. "And now you two decide who you want in your teams."

"Us?" Jun asked again.

"Yeah, we won't put you two best friends in the same team." So Hee said.

"Then you and April won't be in the same team either!" Ray said.

"It's fine by me." She shrugged her shoulders. "Either way, she is too short for any kinds of sports."

"Hey!" April pouted.

"What? You always get chosen the last."

"Yeah I know…." She folded her hands still pouting.

"Stop it now So Hee." Ye Rin said. "Let's start the game. Boys, who'll choose first?"

"Ray, go ahead." Jun said.

"Okay, I'll choose Chan Woo."

Chan Woo went and stood on Ray's side.

"Dae Won." Jun called.

"Yeah man!" Dae Won jumped to his side.

"Mu Yeol." Ray called.

"Okay…" Jun looked around as only the girls were left now. "April!"

"WHAT?" So Hee literally screamed.

"Do you have any problem, So Hee?" Jun asked.

"…..No…" She went silent and April happily went towards Jun, "Thanks Jun!" She smiled. He smiled back.

But Mia's expressions were down. 'I thought he'll choose me first!' She was thinking.

"Mia, come to me." Ray called.

She looked up at Jun's face, which had no expressions on it as such.

'What is wrong with him?' She was thinking. 'I am his best friend, aren't I?"

"Okay, so I choose Hana." Jun said.

"Oh come on!" So Hee stamped her foot. "Hana? Before me?"

"It's okay So Hee." Ray said. "You come in my team."

"Yayyy!!" She jumped towards him. "At least I am not the one chosen last!"

Ye Rin rolled her eyes and silently went towards Jun.

"Now let's start the game!" Jun shouted and threw the ball in the air.

"Yayyyy!!!"

"Woooooo!!!!"

Jun's team was jumping around as they had clearly won the match.

"Sorry Ray…." Chan Woo said. "I may look tall and all but I'm not so good."

"Oh come on, you don't have to say sorry…It was just a game…" Ray patted on his back, "Besides, Jun's team really surprised me, especially Ye Rin!"

"I didn't know Ye Rin could play so nicely." Mia said.

"Me too!" So Hee was also jaw-dropped surprised.

Ye Rin heard So Hee's voice and walked towards them, "You guys really don't know anything about me! The last chosen one, huh?" She smirked.

"You!!!"

"Calm down. Calm down, So Hee." Mia came forward. "As Ray said, it was just a game….So don't take her seriously…"

After the game all of them headed back to the house.

After taking bath, Mia was standing on the deck outside, looking out at the ocean.

She was feeling a little lost. The strange feeling which was lingering to her for days now was getting stronger since this trip had started.

She wasn't able to point out what was bothering her but she had a vague idea that it had to do something with Jun.

'But what is it? Ughhh!' She was getting frustrated. 'What is it that I'm feeling this much uneasy?'

While she was asking this to herself someone came and grabbed her from behind which literally made her jump in surprise.

He quickly let her go looking at her reaction, "Are you fine?" Ray's voice came onto her ears and she turned back.

"Ohhh…You scared me!!"

"YOU scared me! What happened to you?" He came to her and held her to her shoulders. "Are you okay?"

"Yeah…" She turned back to the ocean view again.

"Are you sure?" He asked again and stood close to her.

"Hmm." She forced a smile to him.

He held her from the back, wrapping his arms around her.

She twitched a little.

"So…." He kept his chin on her head. "I'm sorry I didn't get to give my full attention to you since morning…"

She let out a laugh.

"But….How do you feel about this place? Do you like it?" He asked.

"…Yeah…It's…It's beautiful here…."

"So what do you think about getting a place here for us?"

"For…us?"

"Yeah."

"You mean, you and me?" She asked again.

"Haha…Then who? Of course, you and me." He held her tighter.

"Ray…"

"Yeah?"

"Hey Ray!" Jun's call from the back made both, Mia and Ray turn back.

Jun wasn't aware that Mia was standing before Ray, in his arms.

"Umm….Sorry..Sorry…" He stepped back, "I….I didn't see you there, Mia…" He said somehow.

"Oh it's fine." Ray said letting go off of her. "We were just talking…"

She couldn't look right into Jun's eyes and kept looking here and there.

"What is it Jun? Did you want something?" Ray asked.

"Oh! Umm….Yeah….Actually I was thinking of making lunch for us. But it seems we forgot one of the bags in the trunk of your car…So I just wanted the keys…"

"They are in the bowl on the table over there." Ray answered.

"Oh okay…" And Jun turned back and went.

"This reminds me…" Ray said. "When are you going to tell the others about us?"

"Umm…"

"We have to tell it, you know?"

"….Yeah, I know…"

"So? What's the plan?"

Then there was a long pause. Mia wasn't sure what to say.

"I…I don't know…."

"We'll just say it. 'Guys, we are together!' How hard will that be? Right?"

"Umm…Yeah…I guess…"

"Mia?"

"…."

"Look at me."

"Yeah?" She looked into his eyes.

"Is something wrong? Is something bothering you?" He asked piercing her gaze.

"What? No….Nothing is there…" She quickly looked away. "Umm…I guess I should go and help Jun in the kitchen…"

Without waiting for him to say anything, she headed inside.

When she walked into the kitchen, she found April, washing the vegetables near the sink.

"April?"

"Oh!" April turned back. "Hey Mia!" She smiled wide.

"W-What are you doing here?"

"What do you mean? I am washing the vegetables…"

"…"

"I asked Jun if he wanted some help. But you know, I am not that good with the cooking so I just told him to tell me what to do and I'll follow his instructions."

"Ohh…"

"So yeah, I am just doing what he told me." April went back to washing the vegetables.

"….Oh…Umm…Okay…"

"Hey Mia." Jun entered the kitchen with a bag. "What are you doing here?" He asked.

"Maybe she came to help us, right Mia?" April said.

"Uhh…."

"Oh no no no. Cooking? And Mia? The kitchen is her biggest enemy!" Jun laughed. "She never works in the kitchen. Never."

"Really?" April asked.

"…Yeah…" Mia smiled weakly. "I….I will go and see if others are ready….Umm…Okay." And she turned back.

With the same feeling, that familiar uneasiness rising within her, she walked out from the kitchen.
