She's Home....With Him! (Part-1)

It was around 4:30 in the evening. The sun was going down towards the horizon. The long sun rays had fallen on to the rooftop of Mia's house, making it look prettier.

Mia was standing there with her tearful eyes.

Wiping the eyes she hurriedly went towards the door and rang the bell.

As she was hearing the footsteps coming towards the door from the other side, her eyes again started welling up.

The door got opened and there was standing Nana.

Her wide opened eyes were showing that she wasn't believing that Mia was standing in the door.

Looking at Nana's reaction, Mia said, "Surprise!" and she smiled wide.

"Oh my god!" Nana laughed and turned inside to yell, "Everyone, come outside. See who's here!"

"Ommo…Ommo…"Saying, she held Mia's arm and literally pulled her inside.

By that time, Grandma and Mother came out from the dining room; Father peeked out from the living room and Jina slid down the staircase.

"!!!!!!"

Everyone was surprised to see Mia, grabbed by Nana in the hallway.

"MIA!!" Mother came towards her hurriedly followed by Grandma.

The next instant she was wrapped in her mother's arms tightly.

"Hehe…" Mia was really happy to see everyone this surprised and happy.

"I was wishing if you were here…God listened to me!" Mother said letting her go.

"Your mother was weeping buckets as you were not here for the Christmas." Father said jokingly.

Mother glared at him when he heard his phone ringing. Avoiding Mother's eyes he went inside to take the call.

"It's a relief that our girl is home now…" Grandma smiled.

"I knew she'd come home for the Christmas!" Jina said shrugging shoulders.

"Really?" Mia asked.

"Yeah. A cry baby like you can't even stay away from her family." Smirking to herself, Jina started walking towards the kitchen.

"Does that mean you are not happy that I'm home?" Mia asked.

"….." Jina stopped in her way and without turning back she said, "Did I say that?" And with that she walked in the kitchen.

Mia laughed to herself listening to her answer.

"Now come on. Come inside." Nana said.

"I still can't believe my girl is home…" Mother said.

"It's a Christmas Miracle!" Grandma smiled.

"Don't you wanna know who helped to make the miracle happen?"

A voice made all the ladies in the hallway look back at the door. There was standing Ray, leaning to the door, with his hand folded and a smile resting on his face.

Mia hurriedly went towards him, "Oh I'm so sorry…I…"

"Yeah you forgot about the person who brought you here…"

"I'm sorry…Please come in…." She went to take his coat.

Grandma and Nana exchanged glances, while Mother had narrowed her eyes, "I…I know you…You were Mia's classmate, right?" She asked.

"I'm sorry ladies, my mistake. I should have introduced myself before." Bowing politely, he said, "I'm Kim Ray. Mia's boyfriend!"

"HUH???!!!!!" All the ladies, along with Mia dropped their jaws in shock.

"PHRUUUUUUU!!!" Jina, who had just come out from the kitchen while taking the sip of the coffee, had sprayed it out from her mouth, the moment she heard what he had said.

Grandma, Nana and Mother exchanged glances.

"Have you lost it????" Mia whispered to him. "How can you say that?"

"What? I just said what the truth is." He said calmly.

"Ughhh! I was supposed to tell this to my family, calmly. Not like this; like dropping a bomb on them!!!" She looked at him angrily.

"Hey hey…Slow down there…."He said. "You are the one who forgot me back there in the car. And if it was like that, you should have warned me before."

"What? You are unbelievable!" Mia glared.

As they were whispering within them, Mother tried to interrupt, "Umm…Mia…Mia…."

Mia and Ray both looked towards her, "Umm…Well….I think, you two should first come in and then….maybe later we'll talk about it…."

"What's there left to talk?" Jina said as she wiped off the coffee from her lips and glaring towards both of them she went upstairs towards her room with grumpy steps.

Mother smiled weakly on Jina's behavior and then took both of them towards the living room.

Mia's father was standing near the window talking on the phone. When he saw Mia and Ray entering he hurriedly hung up.

"Oh Mia!" He exclaimed and looked at Ray with a little confused look.

"Umm…Father…" Mia said, "This is Kim Ray. He was my classmate in high school."

"I see….I remember him from your Birthday party…"

"Yeah Yeah….So…He's the owner of the café I work in right now. And—"

"Owner??" Father was surprised. "Isn't he too young to be an owner?"

"I'm actually not the one who bought the café." Ray said humbly, "My father bought it and I just help him in our business here and there."

"Still. Handling such things at this young age is not a joke." Father was quite impressed by him.

"Thank you, sir." Ray smiled.

"Yeah…That's impressive…So…Hehe.." Mia laughed awkwardly. She was really nervous to tell her father about him.

As she nervously wiped the sweat over her forehead, Father looked at her, "What's wrong Mia? Is it too hot? Should I turn down the heater a little bit?"

"Umm...No…Father…" She looked at him and then at Ray.

Again looking at her father she gathered her courage and said, "I want to tell you something…"

"Yeah of course. What is it dear?" Father asked.

"Umm….Actually…..I…And him….I mean…We are dating!"

"Huh?" The father had the same reaction as the others.

"Yes…" Mia looked down.

He looked at her then at Mother, not believing what he was hearing right now.

Mother just gave him a signal with the eyes that they'd talk about it later.

"But—"

"Please..." She mouthed.

He just sighed out loud.

But the air in the living room became a little colder though the heater was not turned down.

"What is this?" Father asked as he and mother were standing in the dining room.

"I also have no idea…"

"Mia is dating that guy?"

"It seems like it…"

"But….How can she? I mean, she's just a little girl. And she was never interested in such things. How can this happen?"

"Cool down. Cool down. You know she's not a little girl anymore. And I am also confused because she never told me anything about this. And out of the blue, she brought the guy home. I am also as shocked as you are right now…"

"…."

"But I think, we should not say anything. I mean she's not in high school anymore and plus it's not like she's going to marry that guy. They are just dating. Please don't say anything."

"…I'll try. But I can't assure you. The guy dating my little girl is in my house. How do you think that I should keep my cool?"

Mia went towards Jun's room and knocked on the door.

No one answered. She opened it and no one was there.

She went towards her room, where Jina was lying down on her bed, with her legs on the wall.

"Jina?" Mia called. No answer.

"Jina?"

"…."

"Jina!!!"

"What?"

"Where is Jun?"

"Why do you wanna know?"

"What do you mean why?" Mia laughed. "I'm home."

"So?"

"So what? Why are you being weird? Just tell me where is he?"

"He went out to walk Charlie." Jina answered plainly.

"Ohh…Yeah…That's what I was wondering….Okay thanks…" And Mia turned back to go.

"Sis!" Jina stopped her.

"What?" Mia asked without turning back.

"Is it true? What that guy said?"

"….."

"Is it?"

"….Yes it is."

"So then why do you need Jun oppa anymore?"

"What?"

"Just go with your Kim Ray or whatever….Why do you even need Jun oppa?"

Mia slowly turned back.

"Jina…"

"….."

"You don't like him?"

"What is there to like?" Jina said rudely.

Mia took a deep breath and said, "Listen Jina…Jun is my best friend. He has a very special place in my heart…..And no one in the world can take that place…..Understood?"

"Oh yeah. Right." Jina rolled her eyes. "What if Jun oppa doesn't want to stay just as a best friend anymore?" She murmured to herself.

"Huh? What did you say?"

"Noth~ing!"

"Ji—" As Mia was about to say something she heard the sound of the doorbell.

"Oh! That will be Jun!!" She smiled to herself and ran downstairs.

Jina kept staring at the ceiling, "Why is she so stupid and clueless when it comes to understanding her real feelings?"

"Oy Charlieyaa…" Jun said pulling Charlie's leash as he was jumping a lot. "Yeah I know, it's very cold and you also want to go inside and have something hot to drink."

"Bow! Bow!!" Charlie barked happily.

"You liked the idea, huh?" Jun smiled as he rubbed his hands together. "Where is everyone? Come on. Open the door!" He rang the bell again.

And then suddenly, the door got opened.

"Why so—"

Looking at the person in the door, Jun stood stunned in the place.

Charlie started barking as soon as he saw that person.

"Hello old friend. It's been a while that I've seen you." The person beamed a smile upon which Charlie started barking harder.

Jun's sealed lips opened and only one word came out, "...Ray!!!!"
