Never have I ever felt so afraid. Not afraid for myself, but afraid for my daughter. This is it! I'm about to give birth to my baby girl. "She's losing a lot of blood!" I heard one of the doctors shouting. It's so ironic when a doctor becomes a patient.

"Call Doctor Martin!" a nurse demanded. I looked around me, through blurry eyes and saw the amount of chaos rushing in the room because of me. That was when my eyelids became heavier.

"Doctor Martin, you have to stay awake. Your husband is on his way," a female nurse said as she held my hand. "Take care of my baby first," I finally managed to say. I was so tired. Just a little nap was all I wanted. They can wake me when Lucas is here.

"Ariana!" I heard him shout. He's here.

"Lucas," I whispered weakly. He took my hand in his and smiled. "You're gonna be fine, alright? Just keep your eyes on me, baby," he said worriedly, rushing around the other doctors and nurses.

Suddenly, one of the doctors pulled Lucas away from me. They were whispering like little girls and it irritated the shit out of me.

Lucas POV

The monitors were giving a flat line. Ariana was dying and the baby too. I ran back inside her room and found her barely conscious. "Ariana, stay with me. Stay with me, baby."

"Cassandra," she whispered weakly. I took her hand and asked, "What? Who's Cassandra?"

"The baby. Call her Cassandra. Don't leave her. Protect our baby," she said before closing her eyes. "No, Ariana! No! Hey, stay with me. No! You can't leave me!" That's when I remembered.

"Keep her alive! I DON'T CARE HOW YOU DO IT!!" I shouted and ran to my lab. I got the serum I've been working on. It was never tested, but it might be the only chance Ariana has. I grabbed it and dragged it into a needle and ran again.

Everything around me was moving in slow motion. How can I live, knowing that the woman I love is gone? I'll never forgive myself if there was even the slightest chance to save her.

"Prepping for an emergency C-section!" a doctor ordered.

"No! Wait!" I shouted back and injected the serum into Ariana's drip. "What did you give her!" the doctor demanded from me and started pushing me around.

"Hey! Stop it! She's my wife! And I'll do ANYTHING to keep her alive! So DON'T push me around, Doctor," I said and shoved him out of my way, waiting for the line to pick up and down with hope.

"It's not working!" the doctor yelled and started cutting Ariana's belly to save our baby. "Ariana!" I shouted, hoping to wake her up. Tears were pouring into my eyes as I watched the color draining from her cheeks.

"Baby?" I asked and rubbed her cheek. Then, I heard the cry of our baby. "Take care of her," the doctor said, handing our baby girl to one of the nurses to clean her. "Starting CPR," the doctor said and started doing chest compressions to save Ariana.

After two minutes, the doctor gave up. "Why are you stopping!"

"She's gone, Lucas. I'm sorry! She's gone," he said, trying to comfort me. I refused to believe that and started CPR without him. All on my own...

"Do you, Lucas Xavier Martin, take this woman to be your partner, to have and to hold, to cherish forever, for better or for worse, for richer or for poorer as long as you both shall live, until death parts you?" the priest asked him.

He looked at me the entire time, never once breaking his gaze from me. I tried so hard not to laugh when he winked at me. I can't believe it! I'm getting married to the man I promised myself as a teenager I wouldn't fall in love with.

But what the hell did I know? I was a child back then. That's when I realized that destiny had another path for me. Another path for Lucas. Another path for us.

"I do," he said, holding my hand tighter.

"And do you, Ariana Sophia Blake, take this man to be your partner, to have and to hold, to cherish forever, for better or for worse, for richer or for poorer as long as you both shall live, until death parts you?" the priest asked me.

I still felt nervous like there was something bad was going to happen. I couldn't shake the feeling. But none of that mattered. The only thing that mattered now, was Lucas becoming my husband.

"I do," I said with a smile and slightly tilted my head. A bright smile stretched across his lips.

"Can we do the rings please?" the priest asked. Lucas' best friend and best man got the rings for us on a tiny white blanket. The rings were tightened with a blue and pink ribbon, keeping them safe. Lucas pulled the blue string and peeled the ring from it and took my hand. Before sliding the ring onto my finger, he said, "Always and forever, I will love you." He kissed my hand and tears began to form.

I pulled the pink string and peeled the ring and took Lucas' big hand in my small ones. "Always and forever, I will love you and stand by you," I said, sliding the ring onto his finger.

"I now pronounce y-" the priest tried to say, but Lucas was ten steps ahead of him. He grabbed me by the waist and pulled me closer to him. I could feel the naughty energy pulsing from his body to mine.

He cupped my neck and kissed me. Making the crowd going wild, he dipped me and kissed my neck, whispering dirty secrets into my ear.

A huge cheer surrounded us as we walked together down the aisle. Two hearts becoming one. Two beats become one. Two minds becoming one. This is our story.
