LIES

Mr Lee's face was filled with fear when he saw Miss Williams exit the meeting room. He tried to go after her but was approached by some of the board members.

He couldn't listen to anything they said as he was worried as to what awaited him when he returned back to his office.

Though Mr Quinn had only said that he should clean his desk, Mr Lee knew that there was more trouble awaiting him in the near future.

Instances like he might not be able to get a job anymore, Mr Quinn could give an order that no one should accept him for a job and that would be the end of his career.

He had to find a way to plead with the lady, he couldn't go back with this result to Mr Quinn, for sure he would have his head cut off.

He couldn't suffer the wrath of Mr Quinn, surely he won't have a story to tell. He needed those shares today or else he would be shared into pieces.

Today was the first time he actually got to meet her in person, she was young, very young to be precise. He Wondered how a young person of her age was able to get to this height but he didn't have time to think much about that as he had better things to worry about.

He couldn't help but shiver with the thought of how he would end up, no, he needed to speak with the miss, maybe if he explained himself then the lady might reconsider.

"Excuse me" He said as he made his way through the crowd to go find the lady. When he finally got out, he couldn't find her, he scanned the hall but she was nowhere to be found.

He cursed under his breath as he reached his pocket to grab his phone as he made a call. After several rings the call then connected.

"Mr Lee, Good morning" The man at the other line greeted.

"Raymond, I need you to tell me where I can find Miss William". Mr Lee said in a pleading voice.

"I'm sorry Mr Lee but that information I cannot disclose". Raymond said with a sense of pity in his tone, he knew how desperately this man wanted the shares but he knew that Abigail was not willing to sell it.

"Mr Raymond, Please I need to see her" Mr Lee pleaded at the other line.

After much pleading Raymond finally disclosed Abigail's office floor to him, without wasting anymore time Mr Lee rushed into the elevator as he went to meet Abigail

Inside The Quinn consolidated

Xavier had just left the meeting room, he had just finished the video call meeting he had with the people who were in charge of building their new Headquarter at Country A.

Their first Headquarter was first at Country C but they noticed how they had lots of investments in Country A and so they had to move the Headquarter that way.

They were having problem with the contractors, he needed to finish this early as he had to leave Country D now.

"Have the contractors fired and hire new ones, I don't want any delay" Xavier ordered Jacob as they both entered his office.

"Yes sir" Jacob answered as he took note.

He knew why his boss was in a hurry to get out of country D. The Quinn's mansion was located at Country D and so him being here means that he was going to have to meet his family any time soon.

He had been away for five years and in those years he had never met any of his family members neither has he talked to any of them.

Jacob new that because he had been working with Xavier for years now and he knew what was happening, though it was not known to the outside world the Quinn's family was not as perfect as people pictured.

"Anything else Mr Quinn?" Jacob asked when he finally got to his desk.

"Is Mr Lee back?" Xavier asked as he flipped through some files on his desk.

"No sir, he hasn't returned" Jacob said.

"Have him report to me the moment he comes back" Xavier ordered.

"Yes sir" Jacob answered as he contemplated wether or not if he should deliver the message.

"Why are you still here?" Xavier said as he looked up at the man and he could tell that he was hiding something.

"Speak" Xavier ordered.

"Sir, your Father had asked that you join the family for dinner this evening" Jacob delivered the message. He was surprised when he got a call from William Quinn, Xavier's father. Sure he knew that the call was going to be coming soon but not now, he had told the man that Xavier was busy but who was he to say no to Mr Quinn.

"Tell him I won't be coming' Xavier said.

"I did sir but he insisted that you should come" Jacob said.

Xavier didn't want to discuss this and so he dismissed his assistant.

There was no way that he was going back to that house. He couldn't stand seeing those fake smiles, he couldn't stand the lies anymore.

For so long he had beared it, he had to pretend his whole childhood. He had to put on a facade just to make the public think that his family was fine but the truth was that there was no family. He had to watch how the people who claimed to be his parents would argue every night and then smile at the camera at day.

Their family was built on a lie, their reputation was a lie. Xavier didn't want to be a part of all that and so he decided to leave and build his own legacy as he didn't want to live in a lie.

He knew that something like this would come up and he was expecting a call from his father soon but he was not going back to that house not now not ever.
