Believe me, my heart was screaming that I should run away for my life but my fucking legs were literally shaking because I knew that the person in front of me was a killing machine and those four stripes on his neck were not for show!

They were enough to remove any kind of retaliating thought from my mind!

I decided to act as if I didn't see him while I was continuously praying, "Go back Curtis, please go back. You didn't see me, I'm invisible to you," but to my bad luck, I heard that he slithered toward my direction which instantly made my heart beat so fast that I was doubting wether I was going to die of a heart attack?

For some reasons, Curtis stopped at some distance as he asked in a cold and deep voice, "You're not afraid after looking at me female?"

Now his words instantly made me to have cold sweat, did I just made a wrong move by ignoring him? But if I had acted scared and tried to run away, then won't I be chased by him like a predator who gets their instincts awaken after seeing a scared prey?

Curtis, can't you just act as if I'm invisible just like how I did?

But now that I've been questioned by him, I can't keep on ignoring him 'what if he takes my actions as rude?' so I hesitantly turned my face trying my best not to scream.

I looked at his cold eyes looking at me from a higher angle, I shook my head as I said "No" and again turned my head back because I really can't withstand that overpowering look in his eyes!

Eric was also a four striped male but he never looked at me with that look! The way Curtis was looking at me was clearly telling me that he is belittling me, But am I going to fight back? No, a big no! I don't like playing suicidal games.

Curtis was a little surprised after listening to such a response, it wasn't hard for him to notice that the strange female in front of him was scared but the way she was trying to act brave was definitely something new and somehow piqued his interest.

The moment I was hoping that Curtis will finally lose interest in me for which I even lowered my hat to cover my face, I heard him ask "Why are you not afraid of me?"

Why Curtis, Just why?

I wasn't sure what I should say because I don't know why but my every reply was literally backfiring me!

I took a deep breath and said after using my braincells who already went on a strike after seeing Curtis, "Why should I be afraid of you?" while looking at him in the eyes with my fake confidence.

Curtis was definitely taken aback by my response which was clearly visible on his face, his tightened facial muscles instantly relaxed as he observed me for a while without saying.

After his inspection he finally said, "If you're not afraid of me, then become my female." in a stating tone.

My eyes instantly widened because that was something I don't want to imagine in my wildest dreams!

I know what kind of personality he has and believe me I really can't handle a person with that kind of personality!

The only reason why I was making sure to not let him meet Qingqing was purely because of the fact that if he becomes her mate which was I'm quite sure about after all he have a obsessive personality then he will destroy all of my plans and the most important thing was Harvey because I could see that he is already making a place in Bai's heart and if Curtis was in the scene then I'm sure he will not let him get away alive!

Add on to my reasoning is the fact that I can't teach Qingqing anything like this and this snake who himself is a supporter of meaningless monogamy in a world of polyandry will become the supporter of my bimbo.

He is also a reason for Bai's wrong decisions because whenever she got an idea or a thought about accepting another male, he will intervene by using the fact that he is her first mate and Qingqing is highly sympathetic toward him.

I looked at him up and down as if I was trying to examine him with my full confidence, I was done in two seconds so I said while looking at him in the eyes "I don't want to." nonchalantly.

"Why?" He asked in his cold voice.

I looked at him with a side glance and said in a leisure tone, "I don't like red colour", Very good Kyra, you're trying your best to get yourself killed!

Curtis was confused because this was the first time a female gave this kind of reason for not accepting a snake beast, not even in his ancestral memories was any female who said a such weird reason.

But instead of remaining curious, he could feel the rage growing inside of him because he was already going to take the headache of eliminating all the males this weird female had which was definitely a lot in numbers as he could see from the marks but now from her response he could tell that she will still not like him.

Curtis flickered his tongue furiously and said, "But you yourself have red hair."

I could feel that my heart was screaming that I should get away from here ASAP but I don't know why my fucking mouth was running on it's own because I again replied to the dangerous person in front of me, "That's why! I already have something red and don't want anything else" Just someone kill me, please!

Curtis was shocked and before he could've said anything I continued, "I would've considered if you were of black colour because that's my favourite" and with this I turned again.

After getting rejected, humiliated and compared, Curtis lost his last bit of patience so he moved forward because now he is going to take this female away and if she ever try to retaliate then she will become his prey after becoming his mate.

I was sitting, waiting for Curtis to leave me all alone because I couldn't! But to my surprise I felt him coming toward me with a lot of malice and hatred which instantly made me to clutch my hand in front of my chest with fear as I prayed for someone to save me!

Curtis moved forward because the only mate he could feel on her was a two striped beast with whom she might have mated recently but when he reached in her close proximity, he felt the beast pressure of a fourth stripe male from her which was definitely because she used her mate bond.

Curtis flickered his tongue in anger when he felt that two foreign intruders and to be precise a four striped male accompanied with a two striped one were coming toward their direction in a pretty fast pace, he would've decided to stay and confront the males but he could tell from the beast pressure that the male was very strong and he himself was not in his best condition after running away from the mermaids.

Curtis looked at the female in front of him and knew at the very first glance that she wasn't worth the danger so he finally decided to let go.

I noticed that Curtis stopped and suddenly slithered away from me, I hesitantly looked toward him just to see a massive red python getting disappear into the woods when I was hugged tightly from the back.

Eric hugged me and asked if I was alright because he felt me using his mark, I tried my best to make him rest assured that I was done but that was definitely not easy.

After telling him the whole incident, Eric went on marking the territory which he should've done pretty sooner (according to him)and sat down with me in his arms under the tree to make sure I wasn't scared or traumatized, which I was not~

but I did everything in order to calm down my hubby and not to let him go and chase the feral down because he was more panicked than me!

As he was blaming himself for leaving me all alone and how he should've been there for protecting me, he only stopped when I sealed his mouth with my kiss.

At the same moment Sam came back from monitoring the surroundings because even he felt my discomfort from the bond, he hugged me from behind as he said that there was no trace left by any feral which surprised me.

Eric carried me back on his majestic beast form because he still wanted to make sure that nothing was neglected because it will become a threat to my safety.

As he walked, I looked back in the direction where I saw Curtis for the last time. I know that ferals goes through a lot, but sorry Curtis I can't let you have Bai as your mental support because I need her more than you and maybe I'm just not a good person at heart that makes me unsympathetic.

Took quite a long time, right?

I'll not make excuses so the main reason was, I just hate writing Smut scenes and I was seriously hung on that stuff for straight twenty days!

Whenever I looked at the 'smut ahead' I always ended up losing interest in writing ahead.

It was as if, instead of my protagonists I was feeling the performance pressure.(⁠≧⁠▽⁠≦⁠)

I could've uploaded the half of it, by breaking the chapter into two but I usually write chapter after thinking the incident I want to add and I wanted to have the Curtis incident in this one which made me unable to upload half undone chapter.
