Chapter 3

Daphne was in the girl's bathroom that had been found on the second floor. She and Kim were scrubbing the blood out of their clothes, having already taken baths to clean the blood off themselves.

"W-what just happened?" Kim finally spoke after a long since.

"I d-don't know." Daphne couldn't stop herself from trembling. After a moment, she pointed out, "There are cameras there, but not pointing at us."

"I don't think they can't see us in the shower, toilet, or the dressing room, and won't show us nude," Kim seemed relieved to stop talking about Nero. "But other than that, it seems that the cameras are really watching our every move."

"Why would people watch this? It's sick! They're just watching people die!" Daphne whimpered.

"They don't know we're real and think we're just actors," Kim whispered.

"Isn't there a protocol for movies and stunts like this? Shouldn't people check up on this? And we're on a twenty-five-story building! Surely it isn't so hard to miss?"

They finished blow-drying their clothes and put them back on before stepping out of the bathroom and rejoining the others, who were on the first floor, all gathered the table furthest from where Nero had exploded.

Eli spotted them and said, "We found a huge fridge full of food on the second floor. All the food was pre-cooked, so Pamela and William are helping us reheat the food."

"Are you okay?" Mia asked concernedly. "You two should sit down."

"You don't need to baby them," Sophia rolled her eyes. "They need to learn how to man up. If what Creator says is true, then a lot more of us are going to die."

"Don't say that!" Daphne clapped her hands over her ears. "Don't say the d-word."

Sophia raised an eyebrow, but she stopped talking. A few minutes later, Pamela and William walked in with trays of food, placing them on the table.

Everyone ate in silence, the only sound being the chewing and swallowing of food. After that, they used the sleeping bags that were found on the second floor to sleep for the night, though most of them didn't actually get any sleep.

The next morning, after pre-heating some food and eating, Creator spoke. [Now, it is time for the next challenge.]

Everyone tensed.

[You will now play a game of Russian Roulette. Pick up a gun, and form a sequence among yourselves.]

There was a small click before nine guns were slid out of a hidden compartment. They each picked up a gun, before deciding that they would line up in a random order, being Eli, Daphne, William, Pamela, Kiana, Kim, Sophia, Mia, and finally Avery.

[Each gun has six barrels, and each one has one bullet. One by one, you will all put the gun to your head and shoot yourself, starting from Eli. Once a bullet has been fired, all of you may put down the gun and the challenge will be completed. Anyone who does not pull the trigger when it's their turn will be punished with death.]

Eli pointed the gun at his head before pulling the trigger. Nothing happened. Daphne pressed the gun against her head and pulled the trigger. Once again, nothing happened. Nothing happened to them the first round, but when the second round came and it was Kim's turn, a bang echoed as Kim's body fell to the ground, the bullet having gone through her skull.

Everyone threw their guns on the floor and Kiana gave a choked-out scream because Kim's dead body had fallen on her and was bleeding over her.

[The challenge has been completed and the third floor has been unlocked.]

Everyone rushed to help carry Kim's dead body of Kiana, who had passed out. No one noticed Eli picking up their guns, taking out the bullets, and filling two guns, before hiding the loaded guns under his jacket.
