He was still attending school, and it wouldn't be practical to bring an egg to class – it would attract too much attention and be unsafe. Leaving it at home while his mother was at work wasn't an option either.

Riley crouched down, gently petting the Fire Dog's head.

The Fire Dog closed its eyes contentedly, and its red tail wagged unconsciously.

It seemed quite well-behaved.

Feeling the soft fur in his hand, Riley grew even more satisfied.

He stared into the Fire Dog's eyes and smiled, "Would you like to come with me?"

The staff member's expression turned a bit weird.

This Fire Dog was one of Fire Dogs that had a bad temper in the Breeding Base, it always taking advantage of its young age to be reckless and constantly pick fights with other Fire Dogs.

However, the older Fire Dogs tolerated it, considering it had just been born and didn't even know a basic fire move yet.

Its paws were still clumsy, and its playful attacks didn't even hurt.

So, aometimes they even played along, pretending to be defeated, and the young Fire Dog grew increasingly arrogant.

As a professional receptionist, she could read what kind of Spirit Beast the customer was looking for and their specific needs.

This boy clearly wanted a Fire Dog with a quieter temperament.

Should she give him a hint?

The base didn't have any well-behaved Fire Dogs.

She thought about the commission for selling a Fire Dog and her son's school district.

In the end, she chose to remain silent.

"Yah?"

The Fire Dog naturally understood the meaning.

That's mean you can leave this place?

Of course, it wanted to go. There were no more opponents here, and this human's touch felt so comfortable...

The Fire Dog nodded solemnly and extended its soft paw.

Riley was momentarily surprised but then shook hands with the Fire Dog.

The contract between humans and Spirit Beast was established through the use of the Beast Tamer Codex.

The Beast Tamer Codex served as a mediator tightly connecting the relationship between the two parties. Generally, for a contract to succeed, it had to be a mutual decision from both sides.

However, it was also possible to form a contract with a Spirit Beast when it was completely defeated and caught off guard.

The latter method had many risks; without enough intimacy, the Spirit Beast might not be obedient. Only those high level Beast Tamers that weren't concerned about this kind of things.

As long as a Beast Tamer's brain domain was sufficiently developed, and their Beast Tamer Codex was powerful enough, even if the Spirit Beast turned hostile, the contract couldn't be broken.
