32 St. Angela High School (Part 2)

However, St. Angela High School's special admission process was more challenging. They only accepted five independently awakened students each year, and after the application process, these students had to engage in Spirit Beast Battles at a designated time and place.

For applicants ranked from second to fifth, they needed to score 50 points above the high school entrance exam's minimum score line to secure admission. The 1st ranked applicant had a more relaxed condition, requiring only to meet Enchantia City's minimum score line.

Although independent awakeners were rare, when considering all the candidates across Verdantia State, there were still around 40 to 50 applicants each year.

Excluding those who were directly admitted or applied to other schools through special admission, St. Angela High School had a fair number of applicants due to its status as the top-ranked school in Enchantia City.

Riley checked the exam date for St. Angela High School, which was on June 10th, just a week before the high school entrance exam, only 12 days away.

Spirit Beast Battles, he contemplated.

Those who participated in special admission were students who had independently awakened this year, and their Spirit Beasts were all at the Beginner level. Riley had contracted a Fire-type Spirit Beast, which could be an advantage.

Thinking about Fire Dog, Riley was momentarily surprised, and then his awareness entered the Beast Tamer Codex.

...

[ Name: Fire Dog ]

[ Type: Fire ]

[ Level: Beginner (115/1000)+ ]

[ Moves: Bite (Beginner 73/100)+, Charge (Proficient 135/500)+, Fire Fang (Beginner 2/100)+, Spark (Beginner 3/100) ]

[ Points: 0 ]

...

Riley's awareness returned, and he looked at Fire Dog with a bewildered expression.

Learning a Spark move after watching TV?!

Was it worth to exchange over 4000 League Coins for a Move?

Well, when he thought about it, it did seem like quite a good deal...

A Spirit Beast's potential is limited, and you can't judge its potential just from its appearance. Spirit Beasts with good potential tend to learn Moves and undergo second awakenings much faster than ordinary ones.

If one had the misfortune of contracting a Spirit Beast with mediocre potential, it might take a year or more just to learn a single Move.

Riley stared at Fire Dog, lost in thought.

His Fire Dog had good potential. Should he take it to watch a horror movie next time?

Fire Dog involuntarily shivered unconsiously. Why did it suddenly feel a bit chilly?

...

...

At 10:12 PM.

In the quiet of the night, Riley lay in bed, his hands behind his head, his eyes shining with anticipation. He tossed and turned for a while, then sat up, looking at the still-energetic Fire Dog by his side.

Fire Dog was puzzled by the stare.

"Bark?"

Riley whispered, "I don't blame you for this morning. Do you want to watch TV again?"

Fire Dog thought about its mistake this morning and realized that nothing would come out of the screen.

"Bark."

It nodded, indicating its desire to watch.

Riley picked up his phone from the bedside table and found the most popular horror movie to play for Fire Dog.

Fire Dog watched it intently.

In a forest shrouded in thick fog, a girl in white clothing walked. Through the girl's perspective, you could faintly see a black figure floating in the air...

Riley didn't watch it aling with Fire Dog. Instead, he kept his hand on the phone, observing Fire Dog's reactions and ready to pull away the phone at any moment.
