31 St. Angela High School (Part 1)

Riley was feeling regretful.

"So, is this the reason you suddenly attacked the TV?" He raised Fire Dog's head, preparing to give it a good scolding.

The door clicked open.

Riley slowly turned his head, forced a smile, and said, "Mom, you're back."

"Dovestruk!"

Dovestruk immediately came over and nuzzled against its mother.

Riley's mother looked at the chaotic living room and remained silent for a few seconds. She then turned to Riley and Fire Dog, asking, "Do you have something to say?"

Riley immediately held up Fire Dog to shield himself and said, "It's all its doing!"

Fire Dog blinked innocently with its big eyes.

Riley's mother stared at Fire Dog for a moment, then said, "Deduct it from your allowance."

Riley looked at her with a hint of resentment.

"Do you have any objections?" her mother asked.

Riley replied with a clear conscience, "No."

His monthly allowance was 1000 League Coins, and the TV cost at least 4000 League Coins. Losing four months of his allowance at once naturally didn't sit well with him.

"I went to your school," his mother said as she walked over and sat on a nearby armchair. Dovestruk followed.

"Is there something wrong?" Riley asked.

His friend Samson had briefly mentioned this in the messages he had sent.

His mother didn't answer that question. Instead, she asked, "Is there a high school you want to attend?"

Riley felt a bit stunned and then said, "Enchantia's No. 6 Spirit Beast High School."

The No. 6 Spirit Beast High School wasn't ranked No. 6 in Enchantia City; it was just the name. In terms of strength, it was considered an average high school among all the Spirit Beast high schools in Enchantia.

He chose this school simply because it was close to home.

In the past, with his previous grades, there was no way he could get into a school like this. But now that he had independently awakened, he could consider applying through special admission.

His mother took a brochure from her bag and placed it in front of Riley. "I think you should consider applying to this school."

Riley picked it up and raised an eyebrow. "St. Angela High School?"

His mother replied without hesitation, "Yes."

Riley couldn't help but ask, "Mom, are you overestimating me?"

He placed the brochure on the coffee table.

St. Angela High School was ranked first among the 108 Spirit Beast high schools in Enchantia City and was second in the entire Verdantia State. With a 98.73% pass rate, it was one of the top schools. Those who could get into this school were the cream of the crop in Enchantia City.

If he had half a year left until the high school entrance exam, Riley would be willing to work hard for it. However, considering there were only 19 days left until the exam, it was practically impossible to get admitted.

Given the circumstances, why would he waste time applying through special admission?

Riley was confused. Even though he had independently awakened, it seemed like his mother had unrealistic expectations for him.

His mother calmly said, "You can apply, even if you don't get in. As long as you do your best, I won't deduct your allowance."

Riley picked up the brochure from the coffee table and said, "Why talk about allowance and not allowance? I just want to give it a try."

His mother's lips twitched. "Then go ahead and apply online now."

"Alright." Riley picked up Fire Dog and left the room.

Yelena watched her son's retreating figure with a hint of a smile in her eyes, but her expression turned serious as she remembered what had happened at the school in the afternoon.

...

Riley went to his room, turned on his computer, and applied to both Enchantia's No. 6 Spirit Beast High School and St. Angela High School.

The two schools had significantly different rankings, and their special admission requirements varied.

Riley primarily focused on the section regarding special admission for independently awakened students.

Enchantia's No. 6 Spirit Beast High School had relatively quiet simple conditions. The Proof of independent awakening needed to be submitted online, and after verification, the admission score would be adjusted based on the degree of awakened Brain Domain.

With a Brain Domain development of 5%, the student's admission score would be lowered by 100 points on the Enchantia City's minimum score line for the high school entrance exam. At 6% development, the score would be lowered by 200 points.

Considering the previous year's minimum score line in Enchantia City was 332, if Riley could achieve a 6% Brain Domain development, he would only need to score 132 on the high school entrance exam to secure special admission. Given Riley's current performance, this seemed quite achievable.
