63 Enchantia No. 6 Beast Tamer High School (Part 1)

After finishing the call, Riley quickly found his Teacher's phone number and dialed it.

He didn't want his Teacher to see the missed call from his mother and call her back later.

However, no one answered the phone.

Riley continued to call, and after a series of five unanswered calls, it changed from "no one answered" to "the number you dialed is powered off."

Unable to reach him, Riley sent a text message and gave up.

The Fire Dog continued to look out the window, keeping its head up.

Riley followed its gaze.

In the sky, hundreds of meters high, there was an advertising airship measuring about 30 meters by 19 meters with television screens, slowly moving forward.

Airships like this could be seen by pedestrians occasionally, and they usually played the latest news and events.

Currently, the television screen on the airship was displaying an interview about the Interstellar Conference.

One of the reporters asked, 'What are your thoughts on your upcoming opponents?'"

The person answering the question was the man Riley had seen in the central plaza with the Bufotrick, Caleb.

"Balder is an outstanding Beast Tamer, and his tactical combinations are diverse. Especially in the 24-into-22 match, his Phanubis paired with Dualizzer's move Calamity Descent' was truly spectacular. I believe you all have seen it."

"This is your third time participating in the Interstellar Conference. In the previous two events, you made it into the top ten. Do you have the confidence to achieve better results this time?" the reporter continued to ask.

"Everyone in the interstellar Conference is a top Beast Tamer. I don't have confidence," Caleb smiled.

The interviewers exchanged surprised glances, clearly not expecting such an answer.

"But I will do my best," Caleb added.

"On the Interstellar Betting Network, your odds are 1.89, while Balder's odds are 1.23. How do you view the fact that your odds are higher than Balder's?" another reporter inquired.

"People should still be cautious when placing their bets," Caleb replied with a friendly smile.

Riley watched the interview on the airship's television screen for a moment, then lowered his head and started searching for the Interstellar Betting Network on his phone.

The Interstellar Betting Network was the official betting website of the League, although there were other smaller websites where you could bet on Interstellar Conference matches. But in terms of safety and credibility, the Interstellar Betting Network was the preferred choice.

Without hesitation, Riley placed a bet of 5,000 League coins on Balder.

Even though Caleb represented the Aqua Star and was the only person from Harmonia League to participating in the Interstellar Conference, Balder had lower odds than him. These odds were calculated by betting companies through rigorous analysis, and under normal circumstances, the odds reflected the probability of victory.

Riley chose to trust the data provided by the betting company.

In addition to the Caleb vs. Balder match, Riley also spent 5,000 League coins to bet on another nearby match, also based on win probability.

After placing the bets, Riley felt refreshed, feeling like he had earned some money one way or another.

...

...

In the blink of an eye, it was June 9th.

8:50 AM.

Enchantia No. 6 Beast Tamer High School.

The Fire Dog looked lively, observing its surroundings with a spring in its step. The 10kg weighted ring on its right front leg seemed to have no effect on it.

Riley floated his steps toward the designated location. The bluish circles under his eyes were particularly pronounced against his fair skin, indicating that he hadn't slept well the previous night.

Unable to suppress a yawn, Riley had stayed up until three in the morning due to the time difference to watch Caleb's match against Balder. When it came to his money, sacrificing a bit of sleep was a small price to pay.

The result was staying up all night.

Before three in the morning, it was all about watching the match, but after three in the morning, it was sheer frustration that kept him awake.

Caleb had won.

And his 5,000 League coins were gone...

What a joke.

The odds given by the betting company were utterly unreliable!

Indeed, gambling was a dangerous game. Now, Riley could only hope that the other match would help his break even. Otherwise, he might have to forgo buying a few bottles of the precious Silph Milk he needed every day.

Fire Dog, I'm sorry!
