10 Changing Houses (Part 2)

He browsed through the forum, and every topic was related to Spirit Beasts.

...

["I got poisoned by an Empiny!"]

["Am I the only one who thinks the new form of Petalbug is ugly?"]

["B-level Beast Tamer here, teaching you how to get into Cerulean Beast Taming University."]

["Newbie Beast Tamer asking if it's okay to contract with a Draguana as their first Spirit Beast?"]

...

His gaze stopped at the last post.

No sense of reality, really.

Wanting to contract a dragon-type Spirit Beast as their initial Spirit Beast? And they're even posting to ask if it's possible?

Everyone knew the power of dragon-type Spirit Beasts. Aside from a few extremely rare exceptions, dragon-type Spirit Beasts were undoubtedly the most expensive in terms of type. They were beyond the reach of most people unless they were incredibly wealthy.

Even if someone managed to buy one, they probably couldn't sustain it. Dragon-type Spirit Beasts had long evolution cycles, and it might take several years of good care and feeding before they could evolve to the intermediate stage.

Riley's answer to that question was a resounding: No.

Definitely not!

But if there were a dragon-type Spirit Beast right in front of Riley, waiting for him to contract it...

Well, maybe it wasn't so absolute after all.

He scrolled down, no longer paying attention to that disheartening post.

...

["New Beast Tamer strongly recommends Dunerut as initial Spirit Beast!"]

...

The comments section was filled with different opinions.

...

"Looks like the OP probably hasn't let the Dunerut sleep at night. Friendly reminder: it grinds its teeth!"

"Why not remind the OP what it uses to grind its teeth?"

"I vote for the Foxsol."

"Mudtle challenges you to a duel."

...

The Beast Taming civilization had developed to a point where the best choices for newcomers as Spirit Beasts had already been summarized.

Dovely, Foxsol, Liboa, Dunerut, and Mudtle.

These five types of Spirit Beasts had moderate prices, affordable for most families, and had mild temperaments.

If properly nurtured, evolving them to the third stage and making them Advanced level Spirit Beasts would be absolutely achievable.

Riley noticed that most of the new Beast Tamers on the forum were inquiring about these five types of Spirit Beasts.

His mother's initial Spirit Beast was a Dovely, and its evolved form was Dovestruk.

Due to its plump body, it flew slower than most other flying-type Spirit Beasts.

The reason it was a popular choice for new Beast Tamers was that it could evolve into Dovotion, becoming an Advanced level Spirit Beast.

The Foxsol had strong attack power but weak defense. It couldn't withstand many hits.

The Dunerut had a natural talent for digging holes and loved to dodge attacks, usually avoiding direct confrontations.

The Mudtle, while not like a typical water-type Spirit Beast, but it had strong defensive capabilities.

The Foxsol, Dunerut, and Mudtle all belonged to the Earth-type Spirit Beasts, so these three were often compared. However, the Foxsol's appearance was much more attractive, making it the preferred choice for female new Beast Tamers.

The Liboa was a Poison-type Spirit Beast with venomous fangs and a dangerous stinger on its tail. It had decent combat abilities from the beginning, but its owners had to be cautious as they could end up in the hospital if get bitten.
