Annemosea (Part 2)

Unfortunately, nobody paid attention to his words, and his voice was soon drowned out by the sound of fist and feet.

Riley contributed a total of eighteen kicks and then sat down to rest.

It was unclear how much time had passed when the crowd finally dispersed.

The man lay on the ground, looking like a beaten pig. His face was swollen, marked with scratches that no one could identify. His square face had turned into something more resembling a bun.

Fire Dog squeezed out from the crowd, its moist eyes blinking at Riley twice.

In this silent exchange, both man and Spirit Beast shared a knowing smile.

Someone called the police, and a police car arrived quickly.

The three police officers who arrived had trouble confirming the man's identity, as his face was unrecognizable. Luckily, he still had a Beast Tamer badge on his chest.

The police scanned the badge and identified the man.

"Who discovered that he was stealing?" one of the officers asked.

"It was him!" The female student raised her hand and pointed at Riley.

The surrounding passengers nodded in agreement.

The questioning officer approached Riley and said gently, "We need you to come with us to the police station to provide a statement."

Riley hesitated and said, "My mom is waiting for me at home for dinner."

The police officer smiled and said, "It won't take long. This is an act of valor. Give your mom a call and explain; she won't blame you."

Riley shook his head and declined, saying, "The people on this bus are all witnesses. Please ask them. I really need to go home first."

The officer continued, "This man is Chen Jianhui, a habitual offender. We've been offering a reward for his capture for a while. You've found him this time, and the reward of 50,000 League Coins is yours to claim."

Riley was taken aback; he had no idea such a reward was involved.

He immediately said, "It's my duty to provide a statement. When do we leave?"

The police officer replied, "..."

As Riley was getting into the police car, the female student stopped him.

"I'm Bai Yunmiao. Can I add you as a friend?"

"Of course," Riley smiled and added her as a friend on his phone.

When Riley returned home, it was already 20:48 in the evening.

Fortunately, he had called his mother in the police station to explain his whereabouts, so he was greeted by his mother's warm and gentle welcome.

"You must be tired coming home so late. Hurry up and eat. I reheated the food in the pot for you."

Riley was already hungry, as the lamb skewers he had eaten a few hours ago hadn't filled him up. He sat down at the dinner table and started eating immediately.

"Fire Dog must be hungry too, come on, I've prepared a special nutritious dinner for you." Riley's mother held a plate of custom-made SpiritBlock and smiled as she placed it in front of Fire Dog.

Riley felt his food had lost its appeal, and he stopped eating, looking over concerned.

Fire Dog was oblivious to Riley's gaze, it stared at the SpiritBlock and barked before happily eating the meal.

Riley breathed a sigh of relief. Thankfully, his worries didn't happend.

After he finished his meal, he noticed that Fire Dog had already finished the SpiritBlock and was waiting by his side, wagging its tail.

Riley was somewhat surprised.

Had Fire Dog developed a larger appetite than usual?

Without dwelling on it, he carried Fire Dog to his room and turned on his computer to search for information about the unknown Spirit Beast from the bus.

Since he didn't know its name, he had to search its information based on its physical characteristics.

Riley searched for over ten minutes before finally finding the answer he was looking for.
