WHAT DO YOUR PARENTS DO?

"It was completely instinctive!" I tried to explain.

"Oh yeah? and what was that instinct? to hug a naked girl?"

"No! it was the instinct to protec" I replied with a smug smile. "Anyways, Fluffy, you now need clothes.

"Nya!! Master I already picked my clothes!" Fluffy replied with a proud look in her eyes demanding to be petted.

Of course, I petted her and then asked her to bring what she chose to me.

meanwhile, we went to the second floor. With Jane and Chloe behind me.

Upstairs, next to my bedroom door, was a painting, which I had to put down revealing a small box metal box protruding out the wall.

I opened the small flap which revealed a blue backlit numeric keypad.

I motioned Jane and Chloe who were looking at the keypad with awe, to turn around.

They both did turn around but Chloe was obviously trying to peak so I had to cover the keyboard with my body so she couldn't see the passcode.

I pressed the buttons [ 6942021 ]

There definitely wasn't any special reason for the number.

Another small box now protruded out the wall, but this time it was just a glass plate surrounded by a metal encasing from 3 sides.

I put my thumb on the glass plate and now a small needle right beside the box came out. I pressed my thumb slightly on it, just enough for the needle to draw a drop of blood.

After waiting around ten seconds a whole sliding door opened up in the door, leading to what seemed to be a very plain and small looking room inside.

I allowed Jane and Chloe to turn around now, but it seemed that Chloe had already seen almost everything except the prick and the passcode.

Jane had an expression of surprise all over her face but she decided to keep it in.

I walked into the room and took a seat behind a small computer. It didn't take long to automatically boot up when I took a seat behind it.

There were only two icons on the desktop,

[TOTALLY_NOT_GOOGLE] and [FILES]

I opened up [TOTALLY_NOT_GOOGLE] and it had a user interface exactly similar to that of Google, the only difference being that wherever google was supposed to be it said [TOTALLY_NOT_GOOGLE]

I made a quick search on zombies which resulted in 4 separate links

[ PROJECT Z ]

[ CONPLAN 8888 ]

[ PROTOCOL Z ]

[ GES-00-NE ]

I was only able to access conplan 8888 and protocol z, both of which were just contingency plans and protocols in case of a zombie apocalypse.

Project Z and GES-00-NE were both not readable by me.

Protocol Z seemed to be updated in real-time, giving locations of soldiers, commands, and bases being set up.

It seemed that there was a base being set up 300 miles (482.803 KM) in the west to us and a base only 110 miles (177.028 KM) in the north to us.

The rescue operations for our city were estimated to start from the day after tomorrow.

Help seemed to be coming, but it was very far.

After totally_not_googling some extra stuff, I sighed and shut down the computer, and pulled open the dresser next to the computer.

It contained a SIG Sauer P226, next to it was an extra mag and a few small boxes full of 40 cal rounds. below the gun there was also a burner phone, on connecting it to a very old circular port charger, it showed signs of life.

There was only one number in the contact list, named [ LAST RESORT ]

I dialed it up and after just a few seconds of ringing a familiar voice said "hello"

it was the voice of a mature woman.

"Hey, mom, you guys alive?" I asked.

"Of course, we are love." when she finished speaking I could hear a few gunshots in the background.

"Honey, I could use some backup over here!" shouted a man in the background.

"You heard your dad, don't worry about us- also we contacted the camp west to our home, go there instead of north, they will have a place ready for you and we can meet there. good luck, love you!" She said with enthusiasm without any hint of regret or fear, almost as if she was sure that I would survive.

"Love you too, mom," I said as I hung up, dropping the burner phone in the dresser again I stuffed my pockets with the mag and bullet cases. I also kept the pistol in my hand.

"Let's go-" I said as I swung the pistol around.

"You never told us what your parents do-" Jane said

"You still say 'love you' to your mom" Chloe tried scoffing-
