1 THE APOCALYPSE IS HERE-

I woke up to my alarm-

Then I hit snooze to sleep for a few more minutes- good thing I knew myself, set up multiple alarms in a minute's gap.

Throwing off the thin blanket off me, I found a furry creature curled up on my bare chest, sleeping cozily.

I could only sigh-

"Fluffy- you really like me huh-" I said as gently caressed her.

Fluffy was a six-month-old Maine coon, she was the only one keeping me company in our empty home.

After putting her down on the bed, I got dressed and had toast as breakfast.

Waking up and leaving for school at the next moment had kinda become a routine for me.

I didn't really like taking showers in the morning even though they were the best thing to wash away the grogginess.

I preferred my showers right before bed.

Before leaving I made sure to leave fluffy her food and water, but she was being quite a lot more touchy today. she was quite playful, but today she just kept getting in my way even after I had put her food in the bowl.

Since I didn't really want that annoying teacher to yell at me for being late again, I just gave her a belly rub and went on my way to school.

Reaching the building just in the nick of time, my two best buds gave me quiet applause with a nod of acknowledgment.

Miss Lui, was staring at me intently-

Miss Lui seemed to be in her late twenties, with jet black hair barely reaching to the base of her neck. She was beautiful, to say the least, she was hot enough, that guys from other classes took peeks at her whenever they could.

Well, that's because they don't know the true nature of this demon.

"tch. made it in time, Luke- take your seat." her tongue click was audible enough for me. it was almost as if she was really looking forward to yelling at me.

I took a seat between, Frank and Rim.

Frank was a giant 6ft5 hunk, who regularly goes to the gym. although his face is nothing too special, his body is what once could call a god body. completely ripped, I am pretty sure that he could just flex his biceps to rip his sleeves. Heck people even say that he takes steroids to build his muscles, but I have seen his navy seals father training him ever since I met him in middle school.

Rim was a short girl, barely managing to 5ft. she had dirty blonde hair tied in a small bun. she was a wiz at learning new stuff quickly. it took her just two days to learn how to play basics songs on the guitar, and she has a great muscle memory too.

"Moin' Luke, did you watch the last episode of dress-up darlin' ?" asked Rim as she raised her fist for a fist bump.

"Marin seasonal best girl, no cap-" I replied to her with a smug grin and fist-bumped her.

Frank shook his head in displeasure "kids these days- you guys should come with me to the training camp this summer."

"Nah, I'll pass" Rim and I said at the same time.

"You won't be able to get these hot babies then-" he said as he flexed his biceps and kissed the huge bulge of muscles-

Ms. Lui- had only opened her book when a loud boom shook the building.

I could feel the shockwave just pass through my body- although it felt like everything shook- nothing about the environment changed. no glass broke- nothing fell- it was almost as if it only affected us-

"What's happening!?" screamed a side character sitting by the window-

She pointed at something in a distance- her hands shook-

The road in front of our school had multiple crashed cars- the whole road had a huge crack in it-

People were running out of their crashed cars as if they were scared of something.

Everyone's phone chimed at the same time.

We took out our phones in confusion-

Only to find a WEA (wireless emergency alert, a type of alert which is used to send something like an emergency text msg to alert everyone)

[ Emergency Alert

THIS IS NOT A DRILL.

An unidentified pathogen has started spreading in the whole world, we advise you to not leave your houses until help arrives- the US military will soon be starting nationwide rescue operations. Please cooperate with us patiently. The president will address the nation soon. ]

"An unidentified pathogen!? what!?"

Murmurs broke out-and, Miss Lui couldn't even quiet anyone since she was herself in quite a bit of shock.

Soon we could hear the voice of Goe Aiden, The POTUS on the school speakers.

"Good morning, today a state of emergency has been declared because- of zombies- we currently believe it to be pathogenic, but no tests have been done. Breakouts in every city have occurred in the past hour, capitals like Beijing, London, Delhi, Tokyo, and many more have most probably already succumbed to the outbreak since we have not been able to make any kind of contact. Please do not-" the voice was cut off and instead was filled with the cries "AHHHHH" someone screamed in pain. "help," the person said with all the power he had left.

It was easy to make out who it was.

"It's Jack!" Rim shouted in realization.

We had all been so silent that her suddenly shouting like that made everyone flinch.

Jack was the person mostly in charge of managing school broadcasts. But if the biting and dull groaning noises were anything to go by, Jack was probably already- gone.

"We need to go help him!" she said as she stood up.

I grabbed her hand "stop- I don't think he-"

sudden realization kicked in the broadcast room, was only a floor below- THE ZOMBIES WERE COMING-
