Chapter 1- Infestation:

The Sun Rose Slowly, Peeking Through The Shades And Curtains, Warming The Room With Its Soft Yellow Glow. The Window Was Open Slightly, Allowing The Fragrant Breeze To Enter And Circulate Through The Room. A Feeling Of Warmth And Serenity Filled The Air. 

It Seemed As Though All Was Right With The World. But The Memories From The Previous Night Still Lingered In Alex's Mind, A Heavy Weight On His Chest. As He Crawled Out Of Bed Stretching He Looked In The Mirror Yawning. "That Nightmare Really Did Mess Me Up Haha, I Look Like I Just Spent 24 Hours In A Mental Asylum" He Chuckled In A Laidback Tone. As He Walked Downstairs As He Did A Letter Slotted Through His Door. 

"Hmm That Must Be The Application? I Think Hopefully" He Walked Downstairs At A Steady Pace As He Picked Up The White Envelope With A Slow Tired Movement As He Opened It, It Stated...

"Welcome You've Been Selected To Work At Doug's Burger Barn 2.0 A Newly Reinstated Establishment Of Old Doug's Burger Barn. After The Many Failures Of The Past Two Locations This One Has Been Able To Point The Business In The Right Direction. However We Need You're Help... Fill Out The Form Sheet And Send It Back To Us Then We'll See If You'll Get Accepted, Best Of Luck To You And Remember Not Everything Is At Seems In This Restaurant So Keep You're Eyes Peeled.... "

"Hmm Security Guard? I Mean I Never Thought About Working A Job Like That I Mean It Will Be Better Than Living On Benefits And A Shitty Corner Store" He Nodded Scratching His Chin In Deep Thought As He Layed The Application Sheet Down On His Table As He Sat Down And Got His Pen Out He Started Filling Out Questions And Health/Safety Stuff. 

It Was Gruelling And Boring Process But Had To Me Done It Wasn't A Surprise That The Company Had This Many Health And Safety Regulation Questions. His Hand Moved Side To Side In Phenomenal Speeds Ticking And Crossing Questions Sometimes Writing Sentences In Some Question Despite His Lack Of Sleep. 

"Done" He Exclaimed Pressing On The Top Of The Pen Making A Clicking Sound. "Now I Gotta Hope That I Get This Job" He Sighed Looking At His Couch "But For Now It's Just Time To Laze Around" He Nodded With A Tired Expression. 

He Walked Over To His Fridge And Took Out An Energy Drink Before Falling Down Onto His Couch And Watching His Favourite Cartoon "Doug's Adventures" Funded By Doug's Burger Barn, An Animated Series About There Mascot. 

"Ah This Never Gets Old" He Chuckles Before Pouring The Drink Into His Mouth, As He Watched The Show Half Asleep With Occasional Yawns Here And There. Until Eventually He Fell Asleep, Drool Dripping Out His Mouth Like Rain Droplets. 

But He Then Suddenly Heard His Door Mail Slot Open He Quickly Rushed With A Stumbled Hoping He Actually Got The Job As He Dug Through The Mail He Found A Letter Titled "Doug's Burger Barn" With A Trademark At The End. 

As He Opened It With Rage Similar To How An Animal Would Tear Through A Decayed Carcass. He Read The Paper Thoroughly Until He Reached The End And It Stated "You Got The Job" And Alex Leaned Against The Wall With A Sigh Of Relief. "Well That's Amazing News" He Nodded He Then Examined The Table Which Stated That He Could Start Today. 

He Then Looked To The Right Where Next To The Letter Was A Bag With A Security Guard Uniform. "Huh I Thought I'd Have To Buy My Own Uniform" He Shrugged Before Walking Into His Bedroom And Getting Changed. As He Got Changed Into His Uniform He Looked In The Mirror And Nodded "Today, Alex You'll Change You're Life Once And For All... Hopefully Anyway" He Nodded. 

As He Entered His Car, Not Looking The Best In Terms Of Condition Due To The Fact The Keeping In Good Condition Was Expensive. As He Sat Down Staring At The Sky As Dusk Was Coming Into View, As Revved His Engine He Set Off On His Journey And A New Chapter In His Journey. 

As He Arrived He Was Greeted With A Restaurant That Was Once A Busy And Hectic Place, But Now It Stands Silent And Abandoned. The Exterior Is Run-down And Dilapidated, With Faded Paint And Cracked Windows. The Interior Is Even Worse, With Cobwebs Covering Every Inch Of Space And Dust Covering Everything. 

A Faint Musty Odor Hangs In The Air, Mixing With The Smell Of Mildew And Decay. In Spite Of Its Condition, However, The Faint Glow Of Candles Can Be Seen Through The Windows, Indicating Someone, Or Something, Still Lingers Inside. "Jesus, It Smells Like Someone Died In Here I Guess The Bozo Who Owns This Place Wants To Keep It As A Monument Sort Of" He Shrugged. 

As He Walked Around He Came Across Two Animatronics On The Stage, A Chubby Brown Dog With A Light Brown Tummy Along With Blue Eyes And Long Black Ears Which Match His Black Bowtie. A Green Parrot She With A Plastic Green Chest, Arms And Head. Her Legs Are Pure Orange With A Brown Torso, She Has Rosy Red Cheeks Along With A Red Bandana Along With Blue Eyes And Wears An Eyepatch Over Her Other Eye.

"Huh I Remember These Two From The Cartoon, Too Bad My Parents Could Never Bring Me To This Place" He Looked In Somewhat Amazement At The Robots Now Covered In Dust. 

As He Walked Down The Hallway Coming Across A Poster With The Chubby Brown Dog Holding A Child, "I Can Tell You One Thing These Animatronics Would Never Touch Me, Especially That Dog" He Shakes His Head Finding The Animatronics Somewhat Creepy. 

He Then Unlocked The Security Room Door And Was Introduced To A Let's Just Say "Frozen In Time" Security Setup. "Oh Come On... This Looks Like Some Security Equipment You'd See In The 80's" He Sighs Before Flipping A Breaker That Switched On All The Lights And Cameras, Which Made The Place Sorta More Lively. 

As He Sat Down He Noticed A Newspaper And Snatched It Reading It Thoroughly The Headline Stating... 

"One Girl Murdered By An Old Serial Killer Dubbed "Dog Man", Be Warned Of A Man In A Dog Costume He Will Cause Severe Harm To You And Especially Kids, The Police Are Investigating This Killer It's Recommended To Only Walk Out Of You're Home If Necessary"

"Dog Man? Ah I Remember That Serial Killer That Apparently Died Last Year, To Be Honest It Smelled Like Utter Crap To Me, A Man In A Dog Costume Probably The Worst Urban Legend I've Heard" He Threw Away The Newspaper And Layed On His Chair. He Plugged In His Airpods And Began Listening To Waterfall Sounds So He Can Get Through The Night Quicker. 

However He Then Suddenly Awoke To The Sounds Of Driving Past Him, When He Opened His Eyes He Was For Some Reason On A Sidewalk But This Place Had A Familiar Feel And Smell. As He Got Up He Realized Where He Was. 

"Oh No... My Brother... " He Looked Shocked As Turned His Head Around In Quick Fashion And He Saw His Little Brother Again. "This Was Where It Happened Where He Died Maybe... I Can Change The Past!" He Yelled Running To Him. 

"Alistair Come Here!" He Yelled Repeatedly But The Kid Was To Distracted Chasing His Balloon When He Reached The Road Alex Picked Up The Pace Instantly However Something Halted Him Suddenly. "What The...? " He Questioned Before Looking At His Arm Which Was Being Held By A Black Slimy Tentacle And He Looked Up He Saw A Dark Slender Body Which Is Covered In Ink And White Buttons. This Thing, It Wore A White Mask With White Glowing Pupils, Purple Tears Protrude From It's Eyes, With A Row Of Sharp Misaligned Teeth In A Twisted Grin.

The Entity Pulled Him Down Making Him Collapse Onto The Floor, Alex Couldn't Do Anything This Creature Was Beyond His Understanding And Strength For That Matter. "Let Me Go!" He Yelled But It Was No Use As A Tentacle Wrapped Around His Neck Forcing Him To Watch As His Brother Attempted To Catch His Balloon On The Road. 

"N-N-Now Watch... Alex... Rewatch The Thing You Hate The Most!" The Creature Cackled With A Stutter. Alex Could On Yell And Cry As Suddenly An Ambulance Ran His Brother Over Killing Him Instantly As His Body Was Dragged Along The Tarmac. 

"No! No!" He Yelled In Anger And Regret Fortunately He Woke Back Up In His Security Room. "Oh... It Was A Dream Phew... " He Rubbed His Eyes Noticing It Was The End Of His Shift. "That Nightmare... Why Can't I Just Forget About It.. It's No Use Dwelling On It, I Think Some Booze Will Help Ease The Pain" He Got Up From His Desk But Noticed An Odd Blueprint That Wasn't There. 

"Huh? When Did This Get Here?" He Asked Confused Before Looking At The Odd Sheet Of Blue Paper, It Was A Schematic For A Spider-Like Machine It Seemed Almost Steampunk In Design. "Well It's Not My Job To Nosy Round So... " He Grabbed The Paper And Put In The Locker. 

As He Walked Out Of The Building And Locked It Up To Avoid Break Ins, He Got A Sudden Eye Pain However It Was Like A Burning Sensation "Ouchhhh! Dammit!" He Poured Some Water On His Eye Aggressively To Stop The Pain. "This Day Is Already Beginning To Piss Me Off" He Growled. 

As He Entered The Car With A Mere Sting In His Eye He Decided To Head Home, As He Drove Past The Beautiful Sunlight Brimming With Life He Was Already Wondering What This New Career Had In Store For Him In The Future. As He Parked Up Beside He Noticed Two Kids Throwing Eggs At His Home He Knew Already That It Was The Neighbors Kids And Decided To Deal With It With Force This Time. 

"Hey! What The Hell Do You Think You're Doing!" He Yelled In Anger As Yolk Dripped Down His Windows, The Kids Merely Stuck There Tongues Out At Him So He Decided To Grab On By The Shoulder And Throw Him On The Ground With Force Which Caused The Other One To Run Off In Quick Speeds. The One On The Floor Started Tearing Up As He Ran Away With A Stumble. 

"Scram You Fucking Brats!" He Yelled At The Top Of His Voice As He Entered His Home And Slammed The Door The Plunged Down On His Sofa. However He Then Took A Glance At His Family Photo As His Eyes Widened As He Got Up And Picked It Up. 

It Was A Photo Of His Mom Sat Down On The Hospital Bed While He Was Holding Her Hand. Tears Slowly Dripped Down On The Paper, "Dammit... Why Did You Have To Leave So Soon" He Croaked. Remembering All Those Good Memories Which Were Now Replaced With Dark Thoughts. 

Suddenly He Heard A Knock On The Door, "The Mail? It Can't Be I Didn't Order Anything" He Sighed Before Opening The Door, It Was Two Officers With Disappointed Looks "Hello Sir Could We Step Inside?" The Bald One Asked. "Uh Sure" Alex Nodded With An Unsure. 

Alex Sat Down With A Disinterested Look, "Uh So I've Heard You're Relationship With The Neighbors Is Pretty However Physically Hurting A Child Is Very Out Of Order" The Bald Officer Shook His Head To Which Alex Responded With An Exasperated Look. 

"But Officer They Egged My God Damn House!" He Yelled, The Bald Officer Moved Backwards With Surprise Of Alex's Sudden Anger. "We Understand You're Anger Sir But You Shouldn't Be Resulting To Force" He Shook His Speaking In A Slower Tone. 

"However You Don't Look Like A Menace To Me So I'm Gonna Leave You Off With A Warning" The Officer Spoke With A Nod Before Shutting The Door Alex Merely Shook His Head In Anger Before They Left, "What A Bunch Of Stupid Assholes" He Sighed Before Sitting Back Down On His Couch. 

"I Guess Work Tomorrow Will At Least Brighten Up My Day... Hopefully I Don't Get That Awful Dream Again" He Sighed And Touched His Eye, Wondering Why His Left Eye Kept Getting Foggy. "This Eye Needs A Checkup Too" He Chuckled "Can't Be Keeping An Eye On A Building While An Eye Is On The Fritz" He Shook His Head. 

"I'll Probably Watch My Cartoon And Then Head For My Night Shift Again" He Yawned Before Grabbing A Remote And Turning On 

"Doug's Adventures". He Watched It Half Asleep As The Two Characters On The Screens We're Talking One Was A Dog And The Other A Parrot, In This Specific Episode They Were Fighting A Mutated Spider, After An Hour His Alarm Rang Creating An Echo. 

As He Fell Out Of Bed And Checked The Time " Well Time For My Second Shift" He Yawned Scratching His Armpit Before Getting Into His Uniform And Later His Car. "Well Hopefully This Night Will Go Quickly" He Force Smiled As He Drove Off Into The Main Street. 

As He Arrived At Doug's Burger Barn For A Second Time, He Went Up To The Doug Animatronic "Surprisingly No One Robbed You Yet While I Was Gone I Guess Those Locks Really Are Good" He Chuckled With Sarcasm Before Poking The Animatronics Nose. "I'll See You Later Pooch" He Waved Before Sitting Back Down In His Security Office. 

"Right Night Two Amazing, I'll Probably Go Get Some Rest Like Usual" He Yawned Before Placing His Airpods In And Laying His Head On The Desk As His Ears Were Engrossed In The Sounds Of Beautiful Waterfall Sounds Causing Him To Fall Asleep Almost Instantly. Leaving Him Snoring Loudly. 

However He Suddenly Woke Up But In A Different Location This Time On A Carpet As He Looked Around He Was In A House "What The Hell Is Going On?!" He Sighed Panicking A Little He Then Stroked The Wall. "These Walls Seem Familiar This Location Seems To Be From My Memories Just Like The Past Dream" He Then Looked Around Getting A Semi-Nostalgic Feeling. 

But He Soon Realized, "This Is Where My Mom Died" He Then Rushed Upstairs In A Quick Pace As He Got Upstairs He Burst Through His Mom's Bedroom Door. To Which He Was Met With A Horrific Sight The Same Monster From Last Time Was Looming Over Her With Its Crooked Smile And Tentacles Spasming Out As His Mother Layed On The Bed Asleep. 

"Ah A-Alex... A Pleasure To See You Again" The Monsters Eye Twitched As It Examined Alex Face To Face, Alex Maintained His Cool By Staying Unfazed But Inside He Was Shaking With Fear. "You Reek Of Fear... That Makes Me Ecstatic Ahahaha" The Monster Whispered Into His Ear As It Circled Him. 

"I Know How To Stop You" Alex Grinned Maniacally Which Even Made The Monster Shocked. "How Blasphemous" The Monster Shrieked With Laughter Before Alex Rushed To His Mother And Held Her By His Hand. 

"I'm Sorry Mom I Wasn't Always The Best Role Model For Sure But I Should've Taken Full Responsibility For What Happened To Alex And Now I Want To Say I'm Sorry... You Know Everyday I Wish You Were Here With Me... I'm Sorry Mom" He Teared Up As The Monsters Face Turned Into A Creepy Frown. 

"NO! YOU CAN'T!" The Monster Shrieked Before Charging At Alex However He Merely Stood There Unfazed As The Monster Was Suddenly Melting Apart, "You See I Know You Feed Off Of Guilt But I Knew How To Beat You And That Was Apologizing, I Know None Of This Is Real" He Smirked. 

"NOOOO!!!!" The Monster Yelled In Agony As It Melted Into Nothing Leaving Only It's Theatre Like Mask Alex Then Turned To His Mother "I Wish I Could've Saved You" He Smiled As He Suddenly Woke Up Back In His Security Office. 

"Phew That Was A Close One" He Yawned, But Then He Felt A Sudden Pain Like Fire "Arghh Fuck! What Is That?" He Touched His Left Eye However When He Looked In The Mirror He Saw What Seemed To Be A Steampunk Esque Spider Crawling Around His Eye. 

"What The... " His Face Turned To Shock In An Instant As His Body Froze In Horror, The Miniature Spider Robot Then Burst Out His Eye As Blood Splattered On The Wall He Then Fell On The Floor, As The Mechanical Spider Crawled Away. Alex Leaned His Hand Out To Attempt To Get Up But It Was No Use As His Vision Faded As His Heart Accelerated Then His Body Fell Limp Suddenly Ending His Life....
