How It Started

"Let's meet tonight, you and me, my room." said she whispering into his ear. Shivers ran down his back as she slipped a note in his suit pocket.

Juho was taken by surprise by what the woman in front of him just said. He looked at her, but she said nothing and walked away. After thinking for a moment, he tried to clarify what she meant but she was already gone.

It's not that he did not knew her. She was an upcoming actress in Korea, with a movie or two. Recently she gained popularity for her drama, where she played the role of the second lead. The drama was a hit, thanks to the main lead who was a promising young musician turned actor. As for her role, she gained praises for her acting and to some her future in the industry seemed quite promising.

Well, Park Juho himself was an idol. A famous singer and the ideal type for many girls in the country. He was used to women approaching him, a consequence of being a celebrity. But never did he expect an actress to go out of her way and invite him for a one-night stand. This could be scandalous if the word gets out.

Juho who had just came out of men's washroom after his rather shocking encounter went back into the main hall. He was at an award show. The place was filled with celebrities and media reporters. He was sure no one saw him with her.

After reaching the hall he looked around to catch a glimpse of her. The function was about to end in some time, after which he would be free for the rest of the night. It seemed liked she disappeared into thin air, nowhere to be found. His mind being a little hazy as if he was dreaming.

Two years back:

The first time he saw her was when he met her on the sets of a drama. Juho was there to meet his friend who was the male lead of the drama, Taehee. Juho knew the male lead for years now as they had contract with the same company and often collaborated. He was near the shooting location and decided to meet his friend after the shoot was over.

People were coming out of the building, while Juho was in his car waiting for Taehee. He was busy on his phone and suddenly he felt overwhelming emotions building inside him. He took his eyes off his phone and looked around. He wasn't aware what he was looking for until his eyes landed on something.

There she was, walking past his car, in her lilac summer dress. The hem of her dress gently being flown by the wind. He didn't know why he had this intense inclination towards the girl that he could not stop looking at her. If he could, he would stop time at that very moment. He came back to senses once the girl was out of sight.

After a couple of minutes Taehee came out and sat in his car. They greeted each other. After some random banter, Juho tried to ask Taehee whether he knew the girl.

"The people coming out of the building, are they the ones working for the drama you are in?"

"Yeah bro! Most of them are, with a small number of other contract workers." Taehee replied. "But why do you ask?"

"Nothing important. I just saw a girl in lilac dress come out. I haven't seen her before." Juho tried to sound as casual as he can.

"Oh, that one, she is the second lead. Her name is Kamou, and she is from Malaysia. It's her first big project I heard." Taehee replied. "I haven't talked to her much, just between scenes. Seems nice, mostly keeps to herself but maybe she is new here that's why."

"Hmm…" Juho replied thinking about her.

After that first day, Juho and Kamou met on multiple occasions but they never really had a conversation. They would just greet each other whenever they crossed paths. Juho was the kind of guy who was never seen with a girl, forget seen with a girl, he didn't even used to look at girls. Often times, he was surrounded by the most famous beauties of South Korea, but he never had eyes for any of them.

But when he was around Kamou he could not resist himself from admiring her. She was the woman he desired to call his. When he won't see her at award shows or other events his eyes would wander off searching for her everywhere. His heart won't stop yearning for her. Deep in his heart he knew that he was in love with her from the day he first saw her. However hard he tried to cover it up in front of others, he was sure of his feelings.

Juho was now in his car outside the hotel she invited him to. He was confused whether he should go in and accept her offer or take the day off and head home. She was offering her body to him today, but he wanted more. Juho wanted her love, a love that would be strong enough for him to make her his wife, his one and only.

'What a weird first date she came up with!' he thought to himself. 'Well maybe I'll have to go up and ask her clearly what's on her mind.'

He got out of his car and started walking towards the entrance. What would happen next depends on her answer. Juho had questions, a hell lot of questions popping in his mind. The only positive thing about all this was he was finally having an actual conversation with her. Alone, just the two of them.

Lost in his thoughts, Juho knocked on the door. It took a while, but she did open it and that changed everything. Your life gives you so many chances to find your love. Yes, there is a soulmate for everyone but when you meet them depends on whether you are ready to open the door. Destiny always brings them to your doorstep but it's you who needs to believe in it and take in the person you thought won't be that important. Because true love sometimes has a weird beginning to it.
