A second too slow

"If you see the spider webs in it, oh my god! You'd think a whole amazon forest population of spiders live there." Hunter's disgruntled voice was heard in Blackrose's earpiece.

"Hunter!" Flame's exclaim followed with a chortle.

"I'm serious! And don't get me started about the dust that collected! You could make a snow angel or build a whole snowman if you're dedicated enough", Hunter continued in a convincing tone. "No, a sand castle!"

"Hunter someone would think you've seen it!" Flame said, still laughing.

"I don't need to see it to know there's a sea of dust you can easily drown in. You might end up on ID's 'Never been found'", Hunter defended fueling Flame's laugh.

"If you're done talking about my vagina, I'd like you to get into position", Blackrose calmly interjected the two women's conversation. There wasn't an ounce of annoyance or anger in her tone as she spoke.

Her long fingers moved elegantly as though they were a playing a musical instrument as they assembled a sniper rifle. A dull glint flashed on the tool from the full moon hovering above them.

A breeze blew in her half mask covered face and swayed her ponytail in the process. Country S was experiencing one windy and cold night. And taking a front row seat to this harsh weather was Black rose standing on top of a deserted 10 floor building. Her black on black combat outfit easily made her blend into the dark night.

"Before you know it, you'll be 80 and still a virgin", Hunter said bitterly, a shuffling sound being heard on her end.

Blackrose looked up and onto a building that was three buildings away from where she was. Her eagle like eyes zoomed in on the lackeys around and inside the target building.

"Six, four, three, and five", she counted as her fingers secured a silencer on her rifle.

"And three more with the diplomats", Hunter added. "How about this?"

"I don't want to hear it", Blackrose replied as she repositioned herself to become comfortable in readiness to take her shot. There was a bet coming. And years of being best of friends with Hunter taught her not to accept the girl's bets. She always lost to Hunter.

"If I take down more guys than you, you lose your virginity tonight, with a whole stranger, and no one will know of this except for me", Hunter ignored Blackrose.

"And me!" Flame excitedly chirped in.

Blackrose was silent. Not that she was thinking about it but she was loading her rifle with darts. She was going to pretend as if she did not hear Hunter's bet.

"Aren't you curious as to what my penalty will be if I lose?" Hunter continued to tempt.

"Nope. Positions. Flame?" A shuffle was heard when Blackrose was done.

"Set", Flame replied. Furious typing could be heard in her background.

"I'll do all the paperwork", Hunter continued. Blackrose's hands stopped. Hearing this, Hunter smirked knowing she had gotten her best friend's attention. "For three months."

"Six", Blackrose replied.

"Five!" Hunter fought.

"Deal!" Blackrose replied. How could she not pounce on the opportunity to run away from paperwork? She led a busy enough life to be stuck in the office doing paperwork.

"Okay ladies, 85 seconds to take out the ones on the outside, 120 to go from your positions to the target building and take out the three with the diplomats before they catch onto the outside situation, a full minute to take down the diplomats, I will alert the authorities as soon as you start, and 30 seconds to leave the scene! Go!" Flame excitedly shouted.

"Flame, are you watching?" Hunter asked.

"Always", Flame sung excitedly.

Without wasting a second Blackrose took her first shot, the dart tore through the wind and went straight to her first target's neck, sending him crumbling to the floor. Another one soon joined him on the floor. One by one the lackeys went down as though they were trees at the mercy of a chainsaw.

Whoosh!

A gust of wind was heard when two dark figures on opposite sides leapt from the top of one building to the other, closing in on the target building in the middle.

Blackrose landed on the edge of the target building and swung her legs into its window, breaking glass in the process before she rolled in and landed on her feet. The noise alerted the lackeys hidded in a secret room with the diplomats. One stepped out only for a dart to land on his neck, sending him down.

"What's going on???"

"We need to get out of here!!"

"Do something!"

Blackrose took advantage of the opened door thanks to the unconscious body of the lackey and moved her aim to the other two ready to shoot when she saw them collapse right before her eyes.

"Ughhhh!" She grunted in annoyance, screaming at the heavens with her fists raised at them when she felt an arm over her shoulder.

"A second too slow bestie", Hunter blew imaginary smoke out of her glock and smirked at her.

"Oooooh! A one night stand in a foreign country with a total stranger", Flame sung excitedly. "Lucky you Boss!"
