Chapter 01

Inside the grandeur ballroom, Mr. Tan, a Chinese business man beamed as if receiving a heavenly gift. Well in truth, CEO An's presence was really a great deal.

"That's really him," a tall man with a flowing mustache spoke. "I've had the pleasure of seeing him twice, I won't forget his appearance even if I reincarnate into a fish!"

An Qiang Shen sauntered forward and it was as if he reverberated a dark seductive energy as everyone had their eyes glued on him. He merely walked yet domeeniring power and elegance could be felt in all corners of the room. On that sinfully handsome face, his lips were curved into a faint smile and he looked almost friendly, a contrary to rumors.

"My greetings," his smooth voice sounded and he nodded at Mr. Tan.

"Ahaha," Mr. Tan laughed in pure delight, his eyes shining. "You've suddenly thought to be filial to your uncle!"

Qiang Shen simply widened the same smile on his face, "I've prepared a painting from your favorite Gothic painter."

Mr. Tan came forward and patted Qiang Shen on the back. "Well done my favorite nephew."

"I'm your only nephew," Qiang Shen pointed out.

How did we not know they were relatives?!

That was the question in most of the guests' minds. They were surprised at the revelation.

Ming Yue observed the scene with an eyebrow raised, her finger traced the rim of the champagne flute, and her dark red lips were raised in a smirk.

"Hey, do you think I can get together with him?" she asked her close friend Stephen.

Stephen looked at her in alarm. "Are you out of your mind?! That's An Qiang Shen!"

"I really can't care less," she roamed her eyes on his every feature. "He's just so handsome that I want to get on with him."

Stephen struggled not to burst out and shout at his crazy best friend. "I'm warning you Ming Yue, the CEO is not someone you mess with."

"Really?" her eyes twinkled. "I'm always up for a new challenge."

Stephen sighed. His best friend was always firm with her decisions, no matter how rash. His best friend also never backed down from a challenge nor feared anyone. She was not considered promiscuous as her only interests are men that are just top tier. Admittedly, those men were rare.

It's just that, the man we're talking about is even more unreachable than top tier okay?!

He watched Li Ming Yue watch CEO An as if a predator stalking her prey and thought that if she were ever to succeed in seducing CEO An then she was simply an amazing existence.

Qiang Shen was directed to a circular table in which was reserved only for him. Various authentic dishes were placed in front of him. As if he attended a one man expensive buffet. A man in black and white uniform poured red wine in the wine glass artfully, bowed, and retreated.

The guests were starting to disperses from the dance floor and go into the tables. They sat with their respective families or friends and were served by men and women in black and white uniform.

Ming Yue pondered in her head and then grinned at a reckless idea. Stephen and the others walked to their table and when Stephen didn't saw Ming Yue beside him, he turned his head and questioning glance at the woman. That questioning glance however turned into one of shock and he wanted to wave his hands around to signal to that woman to stop freaking walking towards the CEO's table.

That's right, Ming Yue now sauntered confidently on the CEO's table with her chin up. As soon as she got there she gestured for a man to put a chair in front of Qiang Shen. Qiang Shen paused from cutting meat and looked at her with an eyebrow raised.

The waiter didn't know what to do. On one hand, he knew that the beautiful woman was something akin to the princess of hotel empires but then in the other hand, the man sitting there was the freaking god of business world. Both couldn't be offended. His palms became sweaty and he silently raged internally.

"There's no more seat available," Ming Yue sighed in distress. "And I also figured that eating by oneself is terribly lonely. I decided to be the good samaritan and join you." She bullshitted so seamlessly and patted herself proudly on the back. Her eyes flickered to the waiter who was try not to tremble.

"Chair?" she lifted a brow at the unresponding man.

The waiter looked at CEO An whose eyes left the woman and now focused on his food. As if there was no woman standing before him and no waiter standing nervously to the side.

"The chair's just right there," Ming Yue pointed beside the waiter with slight impatience.

When the waiter saw the unmoving An Qiang Shen he hesitantly picked up the chair and moved it to Qiang Shen's table. Qiang Shen didn't even pause as Ming Yue sat down infront of him.

While waiting for her cutlery as the waiter stammered about it and ran away, she placed both elbows above the table and rested her chin in her palms watching him with a faint smile.

"Anything on my face?" A smooth voice that almost made her sigh asked.

"Yep," she said and his eyes flickered to hers in question. As if asking what.

"Jaw dropping, amazing, and stunning good looks," She answered the unsaid question in a slow sensual voice.

She watched as he looked at her blandly and then take a sip of wine. After that he looked away and stayed silent. As if erasing from his mind what happened.

Her utensils finally came along with the food served to other guests but she bit her chopsticks and asked the silent guy who was eating in peace, "Can I have some of your food?"

He paused before nodding slightly.

She grinned happily and showed no restraint in taking his food.

Qiang Shen sighed internally to himself and felt quite lost as he had never encountered such a situation before. He had been with many women but the woman right infront of him is the only one with such a thick skin. He just silently ate his food unhurriedly and ignored her.

She was still eating when the man neatly put down his utensils and stood up. She looked up with food making her cheeks bulge and then silently watched as he went to his uncle's table. After she swallowed her food, she pouted and continued eating.

She wasn't in a hurry anyways.

In courting people one has to give the desired partner some kind of breathing space before serenading once again as to not come off intense or controlling.

After she finished eating, she glanced at Qiang Shen before going to Stephen's table and sitting on the chair beside him.

"Thou who has guts finally return," Li Wei held up a wine glass and jokingly looked at Ming Yue who held hers as well.

Stephen shook his head and leaned on his chair. "In not even gonna say anything."

"But you are saying something right now," Ming Yue quickly rebutted. Stephen rolled his eyes.

Then a few minutes after, the lights dimmed and focused on the dance floor. A deep voiced MC told everyone that Mr. Tan and his wife would be dancing first.

People clapped as Mr. Tan took his wife towards the dance floor with a gentle smile and they swayed gently to the music. After they finished a round of dancing, other's started to join in and Ming Yue smilingly looked at An Qiang Shen's direction.

As she looked though, her eyes dimmed and she slightly frowned when one after the other, girls went infront of him bashfully. Though he shook his head no, she still felt annoyed with those girls.

She raised a brow when a hand obstructed her line of sight. She looked up at the smilling Stephen and then took his hand.

After dancing with her friends she decided to go home. The guests had already sat down to watch a piano performance and the place had the air of ambience as people grouped themselves and chatted.

Also, An Qiang Shen had just walked out and she felt that staying would be too boring without him. She picked up her purse and said goodbye to Mr. Tan who had a suspicious shine in his eyes when he said goodbye to her.

She wore her cape like coat that reached her ankles and then went out into the chilly night. Her heels clacked loudly on the marble steps and even though she had spent hours inside the party, her hair was still alright albeit some strands escaped the bun which just artfully framed her face.

She made out the form of a tall man in a maroon suit at the end of the step and almost paused in excitement.

So he's still here.

She quickened her pace and didn't pay attention to her surroundings at all. So that, when an unknown person pushed her, she could only fall with a startled yelp.

Her first instinct was to protect her head and so she shut her eyes and put an arm infront of her face. However, instead of crashing into the cool cement she was suddenly caught into a warm embraced and the force of it made her take a sharp breath and collide into a warm chest.

She slowly opened her eyes and it was met with brown ones that gazed down at her with intensity. That handsome face was inches from hers and those lips were slightly curved.

"Comfortable?" he teased her.

She soon came back to her senses when he said that and instead of moving back like a normal person, she mischievously wrapped her hands around his waist and leaned in closer.

"Hmmm, comfortable," she said in content.
