PLANS IN THE WIND

At the Zuza Clan,

"Where did you say you met them?" asked Pere's father.

"In the city I suspect they are new here" said Pere.

"Good" said the Sapele the current Patriarch of the Zuza Clan, "The senior named Val, is strong I believe he might be as powerful as the some of the elders in the family" he said as he smiled, not the nice kind but the mischievous kind.

"Are you thinking of anything?" asked Pere.

"Since they are here, make sure they both stay, if that senior is to break through the strength of our clan will definitely rise" he said, "but for now make sure they are both comfortable" he said.

"Yes, father" replied Pere before leaving.

Val and Rayla had no idea they were plans being made behind the scene.

In the following months Rayla and Val stayed in the Zuza Clan, she had shown a jaw dropping talent in cultivation, as she broke through from the initial level of demigods to the top level in merely less than a year, making her the most one of the most talented in the Zuza clan, since she started cultivating at her age which could be considered to be quite late.

Val had broken through to from the Peak Level of High Lords to become a First Heaven Ascended, he was also given the honorary position of Elder in the Zuza Clan.

On the surface everything seemed perfect in the Zuza Clan but internally there was a war brewing between the different factions of the Zuza Clan.

On one hand was the Patriarch and the few elders on his side and on the other was his brother who has always been vying for the position of patriarch with his sons and the elders he had managed to draw to his side.

"Have you heard, the Young Miss is finally coming out of seclusion" said a maid to another maid as they gossiped.

"Looks like someone is going to come challenge you very soon" said Val as he turned to look at Rayla.

"It will be quite fun" she said.

"They say she is as beautiful as you are and her talent in cultivation is not inferior to yours" said Val.

"Ever since we arrived here, they have been talking about how great her talent in cultivation was and how beautiful she is" said Rayla as a slight smile hung on her lips. "I would like to see how strong and beautiful she is" she said.

"No matter what remember to not underestimate anybody in this clan" said Val as he looked at her.

"Of course, I won't" replied Rayla as she turned to her room.

"Wait" said Val.

"I will remember to keep my cultivation hidden" said Rayla with her back turned.

During her time in the Zuza clan she only spent her time cultivating, her black hair now had hints of purple mixed in it, although she had not fought or sparred against any of the younger generation in the clan her strength was in no way inferior to those of them ranked at the top.

"Are you still alive?" asked Rayla as she looked out her window, before she continued cultivating.

Next morning,

Walking through the Zuza clan was a beauty with an imposing aura behind her were maids who followed her with their heads bent, she was the Young Miss of the Zuza Clan.

She truly was beautiful, imposing and arrogant. After coming out of seclusion she heard about a new talent in the clan whose Talent in the Martial Dao was in no way inferior to hers and to make it worse they said she was as beautiful as her, she could not resist the urge to meet her and fight against her.

Boom, the door to Rayla's and Val's Residence was destroyed in a single punch.

Inside his room, Val just simply smiled before he returned to cultivating, if any other disciple had done that they would have been severely punished but it was their young miss who barged into their courtyard so it would be handled by the Patriarch of the clan.

Looking around, she saw no one come out after her grand entry she only became angrier as she shouted out.

"I heard there's a new prodigy in the clan but it seems like that was nothing but mere talk, seeing as the so-called prodigy is afraid to even face me" she said.

"Young Miss, Miss Rayla has not fought with anyone in the clan so nobody knows powerful she is" whispered her maid next to her.

"If she's powerful she would come out to fight against me" she said.

"Too noisy" said Rayla as she came out of her room, "What's the racket all about?" she asked.

"I, Mera, challenge you to a duel" said Mera the Young Miss of the Zuza clan "Do you dare accept?" she asked.

"If I agree to your duel would you leave?" asked Rayla.

"Yes, so I can defeat you once and for all to be the most outstanding female prodigy in the Zuza Clan" replied Mera.

"But what if I defeat you?" asked Rayla.

"Defeat me?" said Mera as she laughed. "If you defeat me I'll agree to do anything for you once as long as it is within my capability" she said as her gaze narrowed.

If she was merely angry before now she was furious and she could not wait to devour Rayla alive.

"Good, I accept" said Rayla as she turned to return to her room.

"meet me at the open field in the inner court at high noon" said Mera as she left.

In a matter of minutes, the information about the duel had spread throughout the Clan from the Outer court all the way to the Patriarch, although it was quiet there was a silent storm brewing.

At high noon, Mera stood in the open field which had been surrounded by spectators who came to enjoy the show. Who would want to miss the battle between the two beauties in the Clan.

The upper echelon of the Clan was watching from a distance the battle between the two of them.

"So many people" thought Rayla as she saw the number of spectators, as she made her way to the field.

"She's here" said a disciple when he saw Rayla.

The whole field became lively with the appearance of Rayla.

Mera watched Rayla walk towards the center of the field with hawk-like gaze as the crowd opened a path for her.

"You're finally here" said Mera as she watched her.

"How about we skip the talking and just fight" said Rayla impatiently.
