Kurayami Shinigami

I walked over to the school, following Alex and Abilene. I was walking in a wide, relatively empty plain with a bag of supplies on my back. Other students were visible in the distance with the occasional bug or rabbit. Once, Alex threw a piece of carrot from his backpack towards a rabbit, justifying his action by saying he felt bad for them. After one or two minutes of walking, we found ourselves in front if a giant stone wall with an equally large and open metal gate. A few students were visible entering, looking like ants compared to the humongous gate. I kept walking, telling my "guides" to keep moving since they stopped to take in the nostalgic site.

The hallways were made from stone and contained paintings that depicted ancient fights and wars. We walked until we reached my first class which was science. Inside were desks in four rows of five. There were students that arrived before us sporadically placed and a teacher at the front behind his own desk. The desk themselves was a metal chair connected to a wooden desk with metal legs. The teacher's desk was fully made from wood with three drawers on each side. The chair was a simple rolling chair with a gray cushion. The walls were painted gray with two large windows on the side and various posters of demon anatomy and stuff. At the back was a door that probably contained various materials, assuming it was a closet. Alex sat close to the windows and I sat next to him with Abilene sitting parallel to me. The teacher, a middle-aged man with gray hair, tilted his towards a student at the front, whispered something, went back to his original position and nodded.

"So today we are going to do a te-" He was cut off by a student running in, panting and asking, "Am I late?"

The teacher sighed before replying, "Take your seat." The student sat down to the right of Abilene. The teacher then looked at the class.

"Like I was saying, today we are going to do a test to see where you are, and to check if you need help or are advanced," he explained in an informative voice. The teacher grabbed a small stack of papers on his desk and handed it out to the class. After an hour or so, I finished the test and went to the next class, social studies.

The hallway was the same as before. The classroom was not much different from the science classroom, either, just without the posters and a floor up. The class went the same, doing a test for an hour. The next class, being math, went the exact same. The period after was the break, which was more free roam, so I went to go get some food.

The large cafeteria was four times the size of the kitchen in our dorm, though the white coloration was the same. There were four large tables where students were eating and talking with their friends. To the right were eight large machines that gave you food. The bottom half contained a digital keyboard while the top half contained a screen that showed you the food you ordered. You had the option of either typing your order or scanning your hand and then saying it. In the middle was a microwave-like door where the food came from. After waiting in a line of students, I type in, "Cheese pizza" and "Coke." After a few seconds, there was a beep that indicated my food was done. I went over to one of the emptier portions of the table closet to me with my food on a tray I grabbed. Before I even took a sip from my coke, a kid walked up to me and threw my coke towards the trash, though he missed.

"Hey, rookie," he said, breathing into my face. Almost everyone turned their heads, some looking down and continuing to eat. The kid's face contained a wide smile and his light blue eyes were only slightly visible through his long, blonde hair.

"You know, after your entrance exam and your fight with Xiao Laung, I need to put you back in your place, if you get what mean," he explained.

"Not worth my time," I simply replied, taking a bite out of my pizza. He slapped it out of my hand and into another student's face. They attempted to yell something but then realized who threw it.

"Oh no, the pizza that took like ten seconds to make," I said sarcastically.

He slammed his fist on the table smashing it in half as I was turning around, yelling, "Fight me, goddammit!" I stare at him blankly. The table is afoot I can do while barely trying. I punch him in the face, sending him flying into the wall. Blood poured out of his flattened nose while his friends surrounded him. I walked to my next class, alchemy.

There, we did a competition to make a good potion for a permanent mana-boosting pill. It looked less like a pill, though, and more like hard candy. I decided to make a potion that boosted one's physical capabilities. A potion that's short and sweet. After an hour, the teacher, a lady with large, round glasses, examined our potions.

"This potion is one of the best physically boosting I have ever seen!" she commented with an impressed expression. "We have a winner." She handed me the pill in a small box. I shoved in my pocket and to the next class, training.

Out of all my classes, this one was the most and least interesting at the same time. Most because the exam was done by testing one's capabilities using a gravity spell. Though my surname is "Shinigami" I should be at least.

I suddenly felt something inside me. I was about to die and so was everyone at this school. That's the reason I'm even here, I'm a bomb. I closed my eyes and let the magic flow out. Everything died that day.
