Jayr POV - Earth, Teppelin Region - 1007 AFA-SW

A few weeks passed since the Battle of Teppelin and the defeat of the Human Eradication Army and the "death" of the tyrannical Spiral King, and the Dai-Gurren Brigade passed most of that time running around dealing with the aftermath of this historic event.

Of course, after our discussion that day, the first thing that they did was to celebrate their victory with an immense party that lasted the whole day, while I, Lordgenome, and Guame discretely made the illusion of the Dekubatsu collapsing on itself while moving it away from sight while I used my Spiral Power in combination with Creation Magic to create very similar debris which could be used as proof of the Dekubatsu's destruction and can also be recycled as building materials.

After the party is where things turned chaotic and frenetic, as the members of the reinforcement left to tell the other underground villages the news of the Spiral King's demise and the possibility for them to come to the surface.

Meanwhile, the member of the Dai-Gurren Brigade started to clean the battlefield and started to build the foundation to create the first, real city on the surface after a hell lot years, a city where hopefully a new and better society will rise.

On the other hand, Viral started his journey around the world to gather all the Beastmen, tell them the truth behind their origin, their duty, and the Spiral King's last wish for them, to truly become a complete race, and after that convince them to peacefully join the humans to create a stronger force and a better future for everyone.

Of course, those are only the things the pilots and the other regular members did on the surface under Rossiu's management, behind the scenes, Lordgenome, Guame, Leeron, and the other engineers are also working day and night to get ready for when we will start our operation that will very likely spark the Second Anti-Spiral War, and the first thing they did was restore the Dekabatsu in its peak condition.

After that, they carefully went through Lordgenome's database to build the spiral weapons capable of breaking through the Anti-Spiral forces' defenses, as right now, as shown in the movie, only Gurren Lagann, Lazengann, and Crater Gar are easily able to dispatch them, while the current weapons of the other Gunmen aren't able to do so.

At the same time, I spent these days with Nia, Simon, and Yoko, and with Lordgenome's help, other individuals affected by the virus carrying the Anti-Spiral Factor to carefully check on their condition, learning everything I could about the Anti-Spiral Factor hidden in her genes, and the virus carrying it.

What I learned is that the Anti-Spiral Factor is truly something nasty, once infected by it, it merges within every single strand of that individual's DNA making it not only impossible to locate with the usual means, but also impossible to remove, any attempt to do so would basically destroy everything else causing the individual in question to die.

Basically, the only way to free Nia from the Anti-Spiral Factor is to use Metamorphosis Magic to totally rewrite all her DNA into a pure human one, overwriting her "infected" DNA with a clean one, almost like taking care of a basic dormant computer virus, and considering that the Anti-Spiral Factor turn a Spiral being into a virtual Anti-Spiral one, I think it is an apt comparison.

Luckily it also seems that there is only one carrier of the Anti-Spiral Factor at the time, because all the other people infected with the virus carrying it are all still normal and healthy humans, with no sign of them carrying the Anti-Spiral Factor or something that would carry the possibility to be affected by it by the next generation.

And after further studying the virus, their bodies, and Lordgenome's own theories about the virus I finally learned that there can be only one Anti-Spiral Factor at a time, and when the carrier dies, the Anti-Spiral Factor dies with it and at that moment, the virus is once again charged by Cathedral Terra with a new strain of the Anti-Spiral Factor that will randomly choose a new carrier, basically, the true origin of the Anti-Spiral Factor is Cathedral Terra, the virus only temporarily houses the Factor and install it into the next best subject.

It is a very quirky and faulty method, and for sure Antispiral could have done a lot worse with its capabilities, so the reason behind this can only be behind the fact that Antispiral seems to always give the Spiral beings a chance to fight back and prove that he is wrong, that the Spiral Power won't truly go out of control and cause the Spiral Nemesis.

After all, Antispiral truly has enough power to wipe out all life from this universe, but that isn't its objective, a whole species created it as they collectively formed the Anti-Spiral mentality and threw away their whole entire existence, they gave up everything to create a guardian of the universe who could do what had to be done no matter the cost, the reason of its whole existence is and will always be to preserve, to make sure that the universe doesn't end.

Anyway, with my research, I've confirmed that if we take control of Cathedral Terra, and at the same time, remove the Anti-Spiral Factor in Nia, there won't be any chance that the current virus can bring the rise of another unknown messenger of the Anti-Spiral, basically making it a relatively harmless virus like the common flu, something that I relayed to Lordgenome about a week ago, and once he learned of it, he started to rush his preparation.

And so, the very anticipated day finally comes, and I'm standing in front of Nia in a secure and desolate place, away from all kinds of lifeform, all around us, there are all the Gunmen of the Dai-Gurren Brigade, Gurren Lagann piloted by Kamina and Simon, Enkidudu piloted by Viral, King Kittan, Mo-Shogun, Twinboekun, Sawzorthn, Einzer, Kidknuckle, and the others, all ready to be deployed using portals created by my Spatial Magic to any zone where the Anti-Spiral Mugann could appear.

Meanwhile, Guame, Lordgenome, his harem, and his most loyal Beastmen are back in the Dekabatsu ready to take off at any moment to reach the fake moon and finally take control of Cathedral Terra back.

Soon, I receive word from Lordgenome through the quantum communication system developed by him and Leeron as he says, "Jayr. We on the Dekubatsu are ready to set off on your signal."

Hearing that, I nod, then I touch the small earphone in my right ear to open a communication channel to everyone and say, "Very well. We are about to start. As we agreed before, I will first put Nia in a temporal stasis so to avoid the premature activation of the Anti-Spiral Factor. Then Lordgenome's groups will set off to the moon to take control of Cathedral Terra. But for sure the Anti-Spiral won't make it easy for us. So be prepared for retaliation, mostly in the form of their Mugann."

After saying that, I continue my briefing, "As said before their number is staggering, moreover, all Mugann have almost impenetrable energy shields which can deflect bullets and other solid weaponry, as well as powerful lasers that can destroy anything they touch, and most important their speed is almost on par with Gurren Lagann. Another thing to take note of is that, unlike normal Gunmen that simply explode or break down when dealt a fatal blow, these mecha turn into small explosives that devastate anything nearby, causing almost as much damage as the Mugann itself can cause."

At this point, Leeron's voice is heard as he starts to explain, "This is a result of the mecha's unstable molecular structure, which also enables it to easily teleport itself through long distances, but we are already prepared for that. And remember to take with your the Spiral Weapons we prepared, like the Spiral Guns, Spiral Bombers to damage them from a distance. And in case you guys are forced to face these Mugann in an inhabited zone, remember to use the Tornado Shield to prevent them from causing further damage with their explosions."

Then I hear Kamina's voice as he yells, "Don't worry, Leeron! We are more than ready to kick some alien's ass, right guys?" followed by all the others that cheer after him.

After that, Kittan then adds, "We are going to show them the power of the Tengen Toppa Dai-Gurren Brigade!" followed by Simon who says, "We will drill through every wall that stands in our way and even pierce through the Heavens if it is needed!"

Hearing them, I smile, and looking at the nervous Nia, I say, "Are you ready?" Nia slowly nods, but I can clearly sense how uneasy and afraid she truly is, so I raise my hand and with a gentle tone, I say, "Don't worry. Before you even realize what is going on, everything will be done, and you will be able to enjoy your life and the bright future you have ahead."

Then I change my Spiral Cosmo into Spiral Power and using Restoration Magic, I generate a temporal bubble around Nia stopping all Time within it, then I once more touch my earphone and say, "Nia is in her temporal stasis. Operation Moon Break can finally start!"

Lordgenome - Earth, Teppelin Region - 1007 AFA-SW

I'm sitting in Lazengann's cockpit with my arm crossed, while Lazegann itself is also sitting in the Space Gunmen, Dekubatsu's cockpit mimicking my position using a cascade interface to connect to me, then once I'm sure that Guame, my concubines, and my most loyal men are ready, with a grin on my face, I say, "Jayr. We on the Dekubatsu are ready to set off on your signal."

On the surface, I may appear calm and composed, but my Spiral Power doesn't lies, within my body, the Spiral Power is churning excitedly, waiting for the right moment to erupt with all its might.

As I wait for Jayr's signal, my mind starts to wander, 'To think that after all this time and all the things I did and went through... to think that I would once more feel like this... alive and hopeful. I finally have a chance to open a path to a better future, a future free of the threat of the Spiral Nemesis, and free of the Anti-Spiral's oppression. A better future for Nia. Even if I have no right to call myself her father anymore. Even if nothing of what I'll do will atone for all the evil I have committed. I'll still continue to fight not as the Spiral King, guardian of humanity. But as the simple Spiral Warrior Lordgenome!'

Then my thoughts are interrupted by Jayr's voice as he starts to give his briefing about this critical operation that will decide the fate of the people on Earth, then he once more warns the warriors of the Dai-Gurren Brigade about the capabilities of the Anti-Spiral forces.

After that, Leeron, probably one of the smartest man currently on the planet and probably the only one after Jayr that can truly understand me when I start to speak about science despise his very basic education and reminds them of the weapon we came up to counter the Mugann's energy shields and autodestructions.

Finally, the signal I was waiting for arrives, and I hear Jayr's voice as he says, "Nia is in her temporal stasis. Operation Moon Break can finally start!"

With an almost feral grin, I yell, "Here we go! Dekabutsu, set off!!" and let go of all the restrains I have over my Spiral Power setting it free as the Space Gunmen under my control start to float and quickly gain altitude.

Dekabutsu quickly rises through the atmosphere, breaking through the troposphere and stratosphere, gaining more and more speed as the pull of Earth's gravity grows weaker and weaker, and so the Space Gunmen continue to rise, breaking through the mesosphere, thermosphere, and exosphere layers and finally, I find myself back into the cold space, the scenario of many of my battles against the Anti-Spiral Race.

As I'm looking at the breathtaking scenery through the display, I hear Guame's voice as he says, "Lordgenome, the path for the Cathedral Terra is clear." and see a screen opening on the display that shows Guame sitting on the command seat of Dekabutsu's bridge.

I take a look at the lonely moon in the distance and mutter, "For now... I'm sure that once we are close enough, the defense system will activate and we will be swarmed by the Anti-Spiral forces."

Guame chuckles and responds, "Heh, that's for sure. But Dekabutsu is more than ready to face them and wreak through anything in our path... this time we won't hold back."

I chuckle back and then I urge Dekabutsu to move toward Cathedral Terra which is still disguised as the moon.

As we get closer and closer, the tension and excitement continue to rise becoming almost palpable, but still, nothing happens as the sea of stars we are moving through continues to remain still and calm.

But the situation suddenly changes when we reach 3/4 of the way, as I hear one of the Beastmen manning the bridge yell out, "Spatial Displacement revealed!! Enemies incoming!!"

At the same time, through the display, I see countless portals open all around the Dekabutsu from which the Anti-Spiral's Muganns start to come out, and not only the Soldier Class Mugann, the basic Mugann unit, are sent in great numbers to lay waste to humanity.

But also Jokyu-Mugann, the command unit, deploying and coordinating the attacks of Soldier Class Mugann, and the huge Kyo-Mugann and Kuu-Mugann.

At the same time as they appear, all the Soldier Class Mugann start to shoot their powerful laser at us, it is an omnidirectional attack that leaves no space to dodge.

Seeing that, I smirk and say, "Heh. It's finally time to truly let loose..." and make Dekabutsu spread its arms wide taking a "T" stance, at the same time, I use the boosters at their full power to make it quickly spin, and make my Spiral Power burst out forming a massive whirling tornado of green energy, which reflect back all the enemy lasers laying waste of the swarming enemies surrounding us, as the Beastmen manning the Space Gunmen's bridge cheers out loud.

But it doesn't last long as one of them quickly relays, "Not Good! A sizable part of the enemy's surviving forces left the formation and is quickly moving toward Earth! Their destination is Princess Nia's location!!"

At the same time, Guame snorts and says, "Of course, they want to free and secure their messenger, without it their reinforcement won't be able to quickly teleport here." I nod then with a smile I say, "Don't worry about the enemies landing on Earth. The ground forces are there waiting for them. Continue to focus on the mission objective!" while thinking, 'And more important there is Jayr there. With him nearby, Nia is absolutely safe.'

While I was thinking that, another Beastmen reports, "The Kyo-Mugann and Kuu-Mugann are combing!!"

And Indeed the huge tall and blue mecha and wide and purple mecha combine into the enormous Kuu-Kyo-Mugann, which is mostly black with lines of red energy running across its frame a mecha that is even bigger than Dekabutsu.

Kuu-Kyo-Mugann then starts to quickly spin on itself like a top and moves toward us with the clear intention of ramming us.

Seeing that, I remember the scene from the movie and with a grin, I say, "Interesting! Let me try to do something similar!" and urge Dekabutsu to move toward the incoming Kuu-Kyo-Mugann as I release even more Spiral Power that becomes and flamming aura that surrounds the Dekabutsu while yelling, "Dekabutsu! Full Power!!".

Once close enough, I raise Dekabutsu's right arm, and thrust it toward the spinning Mugann, using a technique from that old martial art named Sumo, a technique called Tsuppari, that delivers a fast strike with the palm of the hand to the opponent.

The Space Gunmen's huge palm clashes against the spinning body of the enemy stopping it in place while generating blinding sparks akin to lightning.

But this isn't enough to destroy the Kuu-Kyo-Mugann, so without giving it any time to react, I raise the Space Gunmen left arm and concentrate all my Spiral Power into it, more precisely the enormous hammer of the Dekabutsu that starts to shine in a green light and yell, "This is the end!"

I swing the left arm downward while yelling, "Space-Time Shattering Smash!!" hitting the Mugann with such force that it smashes downward, breaking a hole in the fabric of space-time and sending it flying straight out of the universe where it grandly explodes.

Seeing this spectacle I can't help but grin, but soon Guame's image appears on the screen as he looks at me with a smirk as he says in a mocking tone, "Heh. The great Spiral Warrior Lordgenome happily imitates the exploit of a bunch of kids... What's next? Are you gonna say that catchphrase next?"

I continue to grin at my old friend and reply, "Maybe, it depends if I'm able to find the right moment for it... You know, Guame, after so many years, I never felt more alive."

Guame then grins back and says, "Very well, then at least warn me before you do it... Because I too have the sudden urge to yell it out loud... Ha, ha ha!"

But soon his laughter is cut short as one of the Beastmen on the bridge reports in a hurry, "Commander! Energy reaction from the fake Moon!! Cathedral Terra is activating!!"

I take a quick look and indeed, the familiar and despised Anti-Spiral Power can be felt bursting out as two bright red lines can be seen running across the fake Moon's surface dividing it into four sections, then the fake moon splits open and starts to transform into its gigantic humanoid form, taking the familiar but distorted shape of Cathedral Lazengann, a colossal mecha about half the size of Earth with two immense drills on its shoulders, but the most glaring feature is the face on its chest, that with its mouth opened looks almost like it is in constant anguish.

While I'm looking at the bastardized Anti-Spiral version of my own mecha, I receive a report from the bridge, "Commander! The energy levels of Cathedral Terra keep rising! It's about to release a beam attack!!"

Indeed, I also notice that all the holes on its body are shining in a bright red light as it gathers the Anti-Spiral Power, moreover, it is clear that it is aiming at the Earth.

And so, as soon as Cathedral Terra releases its beams, I move Dekabutsu on their path, and inputting my Spiral Power into its left hammer arm and spinning it, I readily block its world-destroying attack, but Cathedral Terra's attack doesn't end here, and I instantly notice the huge hand moving toward us in the attempt to grab Dekabutsu and quickly move out of the way.

Then keeping my focus on this colossal Gunmen, I mutter with a grin, "Just as I thought... the Anti-Spiral Race won't make it easy for us... but luckily I already know what to do!"

I prepare my Spiral Power then I yell to my people on the bridge, "Get ready guys! We are about to take back Cathedral Terra!" then I open the quantum communication channel and warn Jayr, "Jayr, get ready! We are about to take control of Cathedral Terra!"

Jayr POV - Earth, Teppelin Region - 1007 AFA-SW

As I watch the chaotic battle between the Anti-Spiral's forces and the Dai-Gurren Brigade unfolding all around me, all of a sudden, I hear Lordgenome's voice through the quantum communication channel as he says, "Jayr, get ready! We are about to take control of Cathedral Terra!"

Hearing that, I look up and take a look at the sky, ignoring the Mugann's laser that sometimes clashes against the Spiral Power barrier surrounding me and Nia, and focus on the immense Gunmen that can be seen up there, as it tries to punch through the planet only for its fist to suddenly stop and slowly move back.

Seeing that, I let out a sigh and mutter, "Ahhh. It seems that Lordgenome up there is as busy as us down here."

Then I again take a look at the battle that is happening all around me while thinking, 'Luckily only Soldier Class Mugann and Jokyu-Mugann survived the initial clash with Dekabutsu, and more important they focused all their forces here instead of starting to randomly attack the inhabited zones so Simon and the others don't have to worry about the possible damage caused by the Mugenn's self-destructions...'.

It seems that everything is going fine despite the overwhelming number of enemies, with Gurren Lagann leading the charge and the help of the Spiral Weapons, the other Gunmen of the Dai-Gurren Brigade are able to easily deal with most of the enemies, way more easily than what I saw in the anime and movie.

And looking at King Kittan as it pierces through one of the Jokyu-Mugann with its horn destroying it after Dayakkaise piloted by Yoko breaks its energy barrier with her Spiral Cannon, I realize the reason behind it, 'Of course. Different from the story I know, here they are already prepared to face the Mugann, not only do they know their capabilities, but also their weakness. Moreover, even if they are younger and a lot less experienced compared with their 7 years older version, they have another advantage that their older counterpart didn't have.'

Then I look at Kidknuckle as it relentlessly shoots at all the Mugann in its range with its Spiral Guns, focusing only on breaking their energy barrier, while Mo-Shogun, Twinboekun, Sawzorthn, Einzer, and Enkidudu sweep in and destroy the defenseless unit and continue my thought, 'They didn't lose their sharpened fighting instincts because of a 7 years long period of peace. These are still the battle-hardened Dai-Gurren Brigade, that went through one hellish battle after the other, raising and polishing their fighting style and combinations to the limit.'

After that I look at Kamina and Simon as they pilot Gurren Lagann, mowing through everything in their path, and despise the number of enemies surrounding them, Gurren Lagann is still able to easily deal with them, and with a nod, I end my train of thoughts, 'That's right, while this Simon's Spiral Power still isn't mature and is very rough in its use, his battle awareness is way above his future counterpart... at least compared with the version at the start of the second part.'

Suddenly I notice that Einzer pushed itself too far into the enemy line and is now alone and surrounded on all sides, so I quickly decide to help him, I raise my left hand and form 5 bright green balls made of Spiral Power and shoot them like a Ki Blast toward the 5 Soldier Class Mugann about to shoot their laser at Einzer easily destroying them, then I warn Iraak Coega, Einzer's pilot, through the quantum communication channel, "Iraak, don't be so reckless and break the formation. Continue to work together with your team."

After that, I notice that the fight in space came to a halt, as I sense that Cathedral Terra is now back in its battleship form, and indeed, soon after, I hear Lordgenome's voice as he says through the quantum communication channel, "Ha, ha, ha. Jayr, mission complete, Cathedral Terra is once more ours! We also quickly destroyed any trace of the Anti-Spiral Factor here! You can fix Nia now!"

Hearing that, I smile and say to the others, "Did you hear that, guys?" which is met with a loud cheer from all of them, then I add, "Now focus on keeping the Anti-Spiral away from me for a few minutes, as I need to focus to be sure that everything is perfect."

Then I chose to fully trust in the Dai-Gurren Brigade and close my eyes and focus all my senses on Nia, focusing on every single part of her being excluding nothing, not even her soul, at the same time, I remember everything about Lordgenome using his DNA as reference and foundation to rebuild Nia's one, this time without the nasty Anti-Spiral Factor hidden in it.

Once I have a clear image of what I have to do, I quickly point my hands toward the time-frozen Nia and cast my Metamorphosis Magic to reform her DNA structure making sure to eliminate all the traces of that hidden nasty gene, remaking her into a pure human being by replacing the old infected DNA with a new clean one, freeing her from the Anti-Spiral Factor once and for all.
