139 SEVEN MEN OF DEATH

[League of Assassin's base]

The league has already detected the aircraft that suddenly appeared in their airspace. They didn't notice it until it entered their range. Batman intentionally deactivated his stealth device as he wanted them to find him. With his power, he has no reason to hide from some assassins. He plans to barge in through their front door and make his way to the center. He wants to face Ra's al Ghul in a duel and keep the damage to a minimum, after all, he plans to take over the league.

Batman and Diana dropped at the base of the mountain range and scattered the bots, surrounding the entire mountain range. With the stealth mode active, no one will notice them and no one will be able to escape. Plus, he made sure to scan for hidden underground routes and placed bots in those places too. In short, no one will be able to escape, no matter which way they try to run.

Twenty assassins, instantly, surrounded Batman and Diana, followed by explosions of poisonous gas. The greenish fumes covered the area, swallowing them both as the assassins jumped into the smoke. They aimed to kill these two intruders. However, the assassins couldn't even touch Batman or Diana, as they were all knocked out before they even saw the duo.

"They are fast," Diana said as she grabbed two assassins by their throats and smashed their heads together, knocking them unconscious.

"You are getting better at controlling your strength," Batman commented, while he dodged all attacks coming his way and countered with his batarangs.

"Thanks!" Diana said as she threw one of the assassins towards the one charging at her. She then proceeded to take out a couple of assassins by smashing their heads together, again.

It took less than ten seconds to knock them all out.

Then, they began to climb the mountain. On their way, countless assassins attacked them from almost all directions, but both of them easily knocked them down. Batman and Diana did their best not to kill them. Then came the path of traps. Explosive darts shot from the trees, poisoned arrows, falling boulders, and hidden spikes on the ground, everything was ineffective.

"Damn! They went all out on traps," Diana said as she blocked a boulder coming their way. "What kind of poison are they using, anyway?" She noticed the sizzling on her nanite armor as soon as it came in contact with the poison.

"Some kind of corrosive acid," Batman said while he flicked the oncoming boulder like a fly. It flew into the distance and exploded against a nearby cliff, causing the mountain to shake and cracks to appear. "They are not playing around. But not to worry. The armor will hold on. This much is nothing in front of my technology."

"Yeah, yeah, I know. Your nanites are awesome. You already told me that, multiple times," Diana grabbed an oncoming metal arrow, right before it could hit Batman. It was a trap arrow that was meant to electrocute the target.

[Crackle!] Sparks of electricity covered the arrow, but it was useless in front of the nano armor. Instead of hurting her, the nanites absorbed the electricity and increased their charge, a little bit.

"But it feels good to brag about it, every once in a while," Batman said with a smile. "I mean, this technology is truly something else. It is a work of art."

"Don't you dare start again," She warned him, as she remembered the three days of him going on a technological rant. It was so boring that she felt like she was hearing one of those big lectures at home from her teacher. She was also glad that he stopped because he noticed her eyes glazing over.

"Okay, okay," Batman raised his hands. "We need to keep going. I want to face the big boss, today. We will continue this, later."

"Good," Diana let out a sigh of relief.

As they pushed through with ease, the attack intensified. Although the assassins aren't engaging them in a direct confrontation, they keep bombarding them from a distance. Their plan was to wear them down, or at least their armor. Poisonous gases, traps, poison-tipped weapons, explosives, weird metal shards... They tried almost everything. Unfortunately, nothing worked, even a little bit.

They just kept coming and coming.

"There are a lot of people here," Diana said.

"Yup! Hundreds of thousands of them..." Batman replied as he noticed someone observing them from a hidden location. "This place is full of people. Let's get going."

Finally, they reached the first defense outpost. There was just one man in a monkey mask waiting for them at the gate. He held a mini machine gun over his shoulder and behind him were ten crates, filled with high-grade explosives and weapons.

Batman scanned the target. The guy before him is 20% man and 80% machine. A cyborg. He scanned his weapons and concluded that the machine gun wasn't your regular machine gun. It's not even registered or exists in any records. The bullets were crafted with Tungsten and he was getting readings of radioactive material from those bullets.

"So, the bats have finally decided to pay us a visit, huh?" The man said. "I was starting to miss you."

"And who the hell are you?" Batman asked. 'Fucker using radioactive materials, this insane bastard!'

"Call me Detonator, one of the Seven Men of Deathhhhh..." Before he could continue, Diana rushed in and punched him up in the sky. His figure disappeared into the clouds along with his voice.

"Come on, he was going to rant about himself and his ranking and how he was going to kill us. You just had to spoil the fun," Batman sighed as he looked at the disappearing cloud.

"Let's keep moving, he's a cyborg. So, there isn't any way he's going to die, just from that," Diana said as they both passed the now destroyed gate.

"That's true," Batman nodded.

"I wonder who the seven men of death are," Diana wondered as they continued forward.

"They are the top assassins in the league," Batman explained briefly about them.

"Then, the one before us was one of them, right?"

"Yup," Batman nodded. "He's a demolition expert with cyborg body parts, hence the name detonator."

"And the other six?" Diana asked.

"Well, there's Hook, who uses a hook hand. Maduvu, a claw user. Merlyn, an archer like Green Arrow. Razorburn, another claw user and he's an expert in throwing weapons. Shellcase, an expert allrounder. And finally, Whip, as her name suggests, a whip master. Those are the seven men of death."

"Interesting," Diana nodded her head, as they passed through another gate. This time, it was guarded by three assassins. Two men and a woman. Both the men were dressed in regular clothes instead of your regular assassin black clothes and they had large metal claws attached to their arms and a couple of daggers around their waist. The woman wore a tight white dress with thigh-long black leather boots, green bracers, and a belt. She was holding a long black whip.

"Razorburn, Maduvu, and Whip, right?" Diana pointed towards them and asked Batman.

"Yup," He nodded unfazed. "Don't take too much time with these low-level kids." He said as Diana rushed in.

Diana charged at them, but a storm of bullets rained down from the sky. Detonator was flying in the sky, shooting his mini machine gun at them. The bullets bounced off Batman and Diana's armor and the nanites repaired themselves instantly. Even the special bullets were useless in front of their armor.

"Tch! What is this armor made of? Damn!" The guy cursed out loud, as his bullets didn't work. He then decided to change the bullets, to armor-piercing rounds.

'This will surely work,' He thought as he pulled the trigger, again.

Unfortunately, even armor-piercing bullets were useless, and the only thing he achieved was wasting ammunition.

Diana took out her lasso from her waist and threw it at Detonator. The glowing yellow rope wrapped around the flying cyborg and she slammed him into the ground, like a meteorite. The earth shook and a large crater formed around the fallen assassin.

'What is this lasso made of?' Detonator thought as he tried to get out, but the rope was unbreakable and he couldn't loosen the grip.

Whip threw her whip at Diana. But she took out her sword from her back and sliced the inferior whip with ease. Maduvu and Razorburn rushed at her and attacked with their claws. They aimed for the weak spot, the armor's joints, but even then, the armor was tough enough to not give in. Diana tore apart Detonator's arms and limbs one by one without caring much about the other three assassins attacking her.

Batman, on the other hand, was looking at the battle with a smirk.

"She's getting better," He said with a nod.

'These guys are strong,' Whip thought as she jumped backward. "RETREAT!" She shouted and ran away, followed by the other two.

"Hey, don't leave your friend behind," Batman blinked before them, cutting off their escape path. "We came so far just for you assassins. So, do try to entertain us." He grabbed the girl by her throat and pulled her up in the air, "It would be sad if you guys just ran away like a bunch of chickens." He threw her toward the other two guys, "So, struggle, for your life, fight with every ounce of your strength... ENTERTAIN US!"

"What the fuck are you?" Whip asked, as she slowly stood up, grabbing her throat.

"YOUR DOOM," Batman said, his eyes turning red.

"That was cringy as fuck," Diana said with a frown.

"Hey, don't break my character. I'm trying to be intimating here and you just had to spoil it," Batman crossed his arms.

"It was bad and you know it," Diana said as she broke Detonater's waist with a hard stomp.

"Fuck! It was really bad," He admitted, looking at the defeated assassins.
