PERFECT PLAN

"It's you who will suffer," Ra's stood up on his wobbly feet and glared at Bruce. "This will be my final attack. Take it if you can..." He clenched his fist and pointed it at Bruce. A ring appeared on his right ring finger.

"Bruce!" Skylar's voice echoed in his mind as he felt a resonance in his ring.

'I know. That's one of the ten rings. Give me more info, Skylar,' Bruce thought as he waited for her to speak. He stared at Ra's as sparks of red energy engulfed his arm.

"That's the Disintegration Beam Ring, aka Spectral. It projects a beam of energy capable of destroying the bonds between the atoms and molecules, causing inanimate objects to disintegrate. This ring must recharge for 20 minutes after each use. It can also turn the user invisible. We don't know if it's awakened like me. But, no matter what, you must not let it touch you or it's game over," Skylar replied telepathically.

'Game over, eh? Looks like we won't be killing him painlessly,' Bruce spoke inside her mind. 'Thank you for the information. But did you forget the most important part of my plan?'

"What?" Skylar was confused.

'Just wait and see...'

The reason this ring is a bane to Bruce is because of the nanites in his body. Nanites are inanimate objects. Hence, this weapon of Ra's is a bane to anyone with technology, regardless of its size. If the beam were to hit Bruce, then the nanites that are now a part of his body would break down, causing his body to disintegrate along with it.

However, as always, Bruce has a counterplan. He wanted to use it under a different situation, but the present situation is as good as any. He'll crush Ra's dream just like he did before after giving him a ray of hope.

"So, that's your big gun? Well, it does look kinda dangerous, but tell you what, I'll still kill you and take that ring and that armor as an extra bonus," Bruce said nonchalantly. 'I was so busy that I almost forgot about the rings. Skylar's power is OP as it is, but if I get this one, then... No technology would be able to stand before me. Plus the invisible bonus. This trip so far hasn't disappointed me. Time to end this.'

"BIG GUN? THAT IS NO BIG GUN! YOU'RE DAMNED CRAZY IF YOU WANT TO GO UP AGAINST THIS RING! BUT THEN AGAIN, PEOPLE TEND TO THINK OF STUPID THINGS WHEN FACING DEATH!" Ra's vanished in a blink of an eye.

Bruce couldn't see or feel the energy anymore. But looking at how the ring was charging energy, it'll take a while before Ra's could use it. But an invisible attack...

"How are you going to fight something you can't see or even feel its energy?" Ra's voice reverberated around him.

"Well, it's not like you are the only one who can turn invisible," Bruce manipulated the nanites in his body, turning himself invisible.

'He turned invisible,' Ra's looked around, but he couldn't see Bruce nor could he feel his breath or any kind of movement. His charge was almost done and if he lost this chance, he was as good as dead. 'This is getting irritating. I've just gained power to rival the gods and yet a mere human can counter it?!' Ra's clenched his fist in rage.

"What's wrong, can't see me? How about you use those ninja senses of yours? Oops, you can't do that with all that damage you took and the focus required to charge that ring, but..." Bruce's voice disappeared as Ra's felt a hard kick on his waist, that shattered the bones.

"Kugggg!!!" Ra's coughed out blood as his body rolled on the ground. His invisibility was undone and the ring that was supposed to kill Bruce began to disintegrate his own body for some reason. The red energy coiling around his body was tearing apart his flesh along with the effect of Velocity 9. "How? Why?"

In the blink of an eye, Ra's arms and legs vanished in thin air. The ring fell to the ground as the energy disappeared. He wanted to scream and curse, but Bruce smashed his jaw, shattering his mouth in the process and sending him crashing into the wall.

"Surprised? You must be thinking why did that energy backfired at you?" Bruce asked as he picked up the ring and held it up in the sky, looking at its intricate design. "You ever wondered why your regeneration increased that much? Yeah, it was clear you used the Lazarus Pit. But still, weren't you a little bit curious? Did you really think, the Pit boosted your power that much? Didn't it bug you even a little?" He placed the ring inside his Lightning Ring under Skylar's care and blinked before Ra's and sat on the ground, looking at the dying man.

"What do you mean?" Ra's eyes widened.

"So much confidence... So much pride and arrogance... Let me enlighten you, Mr. Al Ghul," Bruce pointed at his chest. "In your attempt to find a way to kill me, you forgot the most important thing... Know thy enemy and know yourself; in a hundred battles, you will never be defeated," Bruce said with an arrogant grin.

Ra's eyes went toward Talia, who was looking at him with a cold gaze. Then he looked at Bruce with a baffled expression as the hard realization hit him like a pile of bricks.

"Yeah. A bit late, but you are right. Well, half of it that is... You see the Pit was filled with my nanites and when you took a nice hot bath in it before our fight, those nanites infiltrated your body. Yeah, if I wanted, I could have killed you, heck, I could have even turned your body into a pool of goo," Bruce said in a matter-of-fact voice.

"Then why didn't you?!" He screamed in rage and frustration.

"Why? Because, if I had, I wouldn't have known about this ring or might have lost that Suit of Sorrows, plus I wouldn't have discovered your involvement in that shooting in the Crime Alley and, Thawne's involvement in all this shitty mess. Don't you teach your students all about patience and planning, huh?" Bruce smirked as he continued, "It's all about patience and I wanted to have some fun, but look at this. Thanks to that, I know what I need to do now."

"Even so, how did energy backfired?" Ra's asked as his entire torso vanished like his other limbs. He was reduced to a half.

"That ring takes time to charge and is a bane to technology, so what would happen if a person, whose body is filled with nanites, the epitome of technology, uses the ring? Get it, buddy? The energy will kill its user before it could charge, and you retard used its energy to become invisible. Ah, such a foolish creature," Bruce sighed as he rubbed his temples.

"No, you monster!!!" Ra's roared as tears came from his eyes. He looked pitiful, so fragile like a weakling.

Bruce felt peace and satisfaction, seeing the Demon Head, dying slowly. He finally took his revenge, but there's still one person he must kill to end it completely, it's Thawne. He has a feeling that Thawne is somehow involved in that shooting at the Crime Alley that night, that put him in a coma.

"Monster or human, does it even matter? There are only two types of beings in this universe—Strong and weak. But I guess assassins like you call them Prey and Predators. But you didn't hold an ounce of a predator's spirit," He touched Ra's forehead with his finger, "As thanks for entertaining me this far and giving me the ring and armor, I'll deliver the final blow. Any last words, maybe you want to reveal Thawne's plan or something around that area?"

Ra's looked at Bruce with respect. The anger and rage that were burning in his heart earlier vanished. He accepted Bruce as the strongest warrior and someone worthy to lead the League of Assassins.

"Thawne and Lex... Nuclear fission on Metropolis... Don't know when, but you'll need help. You are strong... No, you are the strongest, but Thawne has an army of metahumans. Even you won't be able to defeat them alone. Go to the Infinity Island. There you'll find new allies. They won't accept you, so challenge their leader to a duel and defeat her."

'Metahuman army? An entire army?!' Bruce's brows furrowed.

Ra's continued, "I was blinded by my pride and strayed from my path. You see, when we become powerful, it comes with arrogance and greed. Bruce Wayne, never let arrogance and greed taint your path. Whatever you're going to do next, please choose wisely so that you won't have to lie in my place next. That's all. I'll see you in hell."

"Will keep that in mind," Bruce nodded as he blasted a hole in his head with a flick of his finger. Blood splattered out and Ra's Al Ghul died with a smile.
