19 Corporate war

"I'm excited to share the news that we've agreed to acquire Instagram.

For years, we've focused on building the best experience for sharing photos with your friends and family. We believe these are different experiences that complement each other. But in order to do this well, we need to be mindful about keeping and building on Instagram's strengths and features rather than just trying to integrate everything into Facebook.

That's why we've offered to build and grow Instagram independently. Millions of people around the world love the Instagram app and the brand associated with it, and our goal is to help spread this app and brand to even more people.

This is an important milestone for Facebook because it's the first time we've ever acquired a product and company with so many users. We don't plan on doing many more of these if any at all. But providing the best photo-sharing experience is one reason why so many people love Facebook and we knew it would be worth bringing these two companies together.

We're looking forward to working with the Instagram team and to all of the great new experiences we're going to be able to build together."

"Am I allowed to know why the Facebook CEO is posting as if our company is his already?"

On the round table were the major shareholders of Wayne Tech, and by extension Instagram, with 10 of them of pure investment mind and 4 of them being integral employees of IG.

The meeting was to be led by Bruce, who was indulging in his philanthropist tendencies by addressing the children who had availed scholarships under the Wayne name. Passing the mantle of the immediate company problems to his secretary taking charge.

"We should consider the price, the offer is eight times what our stocks are worth, it could boost the Waynes and help the company to broaden its reach." One of the employees suggested.

"Our CEO has made his wishes known, we would not be taking the offer and continue developing the app to host more users."

"But it is 8 times!!! Facebook has been a successful endeavor as far as I can remember, surely Instagram can develop and reach heights it could not have reached under our development!" The same man protested, going as far as slamming the table.

Neit was silenced at the show of force, inside she too considered the offer to be very favorable, but Bruce had been adamant on not changing his mind after being asked twice, and she did not have to ask thrice to guess what his answer would be any number of times.

"And the call is not yours to make." Bruce entered the meeting hall as he dusted off his suit, after the tree plantation he hosted for publicity's sake.

"The company may have gone public but I still have 63% of it to my name, and I am now posting about our refusal of the offer. Also."

He looked at the man who had been adamant about the offer from Facebook while being a full-time manager at IG. "You are fired."

"You can't do this to me."

"I can and I just did. Neit, a word." He left to the hallway going back to his personal office.

In the hallway. "You don't like the Empire State office of Wayne Net?"

"It has its charms but my personal office is better." He replied while making an IG reply to the FB post.

/another one of the parties Wayne Enterprises was hosting/

In the center was the new CFO of Wayne Net, Natalie Rushman who after working diligently for the finances of Wayne had finally gotten to her well-deserved position, toasting the success of the Wayne name for the last quarter.

Many known celebrities were present at the celebration, from TV stars to businessmen. The center stage which was meant for the young CEO was still taken by her secretary, as were the rumors of Bruce's incompetence and hesitation in matters of public exposure, where most shrugged it off as stage fright.

But they could not have been farther from the truth, where Bruce was in the corner, eyeing the new employee of his when his headset gave him an alert, matters closely related to the likes of Batman to his in a code.

For his void of an assistant or a handler in this field of work, he has made a makeshift Artificial intelligence, nothing fancy for now except giving him an alert in accordance with the mark he had set, or at most carry on basic commands which could be controlled with his voice.

Currently, it was set to inform him of any mass shipment of weapons, Terrorist attacks in the US, targeted attack on Wayne Enterprises, and the location of the metal suit surrounding Stark Industries, which he knew was maneuvered with the Arc reactor tech Tony was using to save himself from dying.

This alert was regarding two of the metal suits present in Stark Industries, having hostile interactions between them.

Bruce took a large gulp of alcohol in his hand, with the mix of drugs he usually carried at parties, effectively making him look sich and vomit, as he left for his home. Neit insisted on driving him home, which he shrugged off in his intoxicated persona, as he sat in the car and drove off to his home, which was in the middle of his actual destination.

Wandering the fringes, Pepper tries to make a call on her cell. No signal. Through the pipes and chains, she spots what may be a pair of glowing eyes. The WHIRR of hydraulics and GRINDING METAL.

Wild gunfire suddenly breaks out. Bullets ricochet, hitting pipes, spewing steam.

Agents running for cover, firing their guns at some giant flitting shadow. Another agent is yanked out of view and all of them, Panicked, trying to find a way out.

She tries to make a call with her shaky fingers, quite successful at that when it connects to Tony's number.

"Tony! Obadiah's got a whole assembly line under the Ark. He's inside one of them!"

"Where are you--?"

Pepper is knocked over as the asphalt bulges open to reveal the Iron Giant's fist. Her cellphone skitters away. Like a hatching dinosaur, he peels away asphalt, pulling himself out of the ground, and finally...

It Rises to its full height. He turns, face-to-face with Pepper, who's a gnat against this dull-grey leviathan.

There it was,

The Iron Monger in its full glory.

[Second half- of prev chapter] [give power stones]

[For those who do not understand the reference in the last chapter, 1 Hackers Way, Menlo par is Facebook headquarters.

Facebook's headquarters address in 2009 is quite ambiguous, with many sites mentioning the hacker's way and many saying Denmark, we are settling in to be the California one.

As for the need for this arc, Facebook bought out Instagram when its evaluation was 24 million dollars with no annual revenue besides the stocks, the offer from Facebook at that time was $ 1 billion, very surprising as I have been told from various news sites. Zuckerberg bought it to curb any potential competition, guess what they would do when Insta is now evaluated at $ 125 million.

I am going to show Yao in a manipulative light, with her making foolish decisions as she now can't use the time stone after the events of 2005 (I dedicated 1000 words to it, don't tell me you forgot?) and now her initial end from the year 2015-16 has been brought closer(again, explained how time stone has its demerits even when used with an artifact, you read the previous chapter, right?) so she would be in a haste, taking steps to bring Strange to fold earlier than canon, any problems?

Any similarities between the characters of the story and to people in the real world are purely coincidental]
