132 Time to go home

Hammerhead's eyes narrowed as Orphan and Black widow now stood before Hawkeye, the two giving it their all to stop Hammerhead's fist.

"Annoying pests" Hammerhead cursed as his fist opened up with the new opening giving off a bright glow, *boom* the laser strike was redirected away from the trio by a whip, following the whip with his eyes Hammerhead saw Black Cat holding on to the whip tightly.

Glaring at the traitor, Hammerhead yanked her towards himself and moved to finish her with one strike as his fist was sped up by a boost which continued straight for her head aiming to end her life. Relying on her insane instincts, Black cat let go of her whip and fell to the ground with a roll just early enough to avoid the fist which created a mini crater.

Black Cat who had just narrowly avoided death locked eyes with him, and felt her blood run cold for a second when she saw those eyes filled to the brim with killing intent. She immediately proceeded to perform backflips ad cartwheels to avoid the rain of mini missiles Hammerhead sent her way.

She just managed to avoid a bulk of them but eight more were heading a way and she was mid flip and surrounded with no way to escape, but before the missiles could make contact with her they exploded allowing for her to get out of there unscathed.

Nightwing appeared at her side and wasted no time in charging straight at Hammerhead, who readied himself to strike back. Just as they were about to make contact though Hammerhead widened his eyes when he saw four arrows, six batarangs as well as four black disks giving of sparks flying his way.

He immediately brought up both his hands to take the brute force of the attack allowing for Nightwing to move in and deliver a powered strike to an exposed joint hoping to decomisson his legs.

The attack did cause substantial damage but was unable to take out the leg in it's entirety. He was not given a second chance however as he was sent flying from Hammerhead's knee digging to his chest, a sharp snapping sound filled his ears as he let out a painful scream mid flight.

Orphan rushed to his side when she saw him with blood trailing down his lips clearly as a result of his injury. "Nightwing-" Yelena was cut off by Nightwing with a simple, "I'm fine".

The battle continued for a while longer with each of the heroes sporting various injuries and Hammerhead's suit having a few dents and scratches.

At this point it was clear to all present that they alone were not enough for Hammerhead to burn himself out, "Time for plan B!" Black widow called out as they avoided another laser blast from the incredibly pissed of Hammerhead.

"What's Plan B" Hawkeye called out as he sent out a few arrows which exploded as they made contact with the blast sent their way, allowing for them to continue to keep their distance.

"We take out his power source" Black widow who had gotten her hands on one of the laser guns releases unrelenting gunfire on Hammerhead temporarily halting his charge. "Black cat where is it?" Taking this opportunity Black widow questioned Black cat who immediately responded, "on his back".

"You heard the-" Black widow was cut of by a chuckle from Hammerhead, "Do you think this is enough to stop me? In this state I can even go toe to toe with the Hulk".

"You clearly have never met the Hulk" Hawkeye responded as he let loose an arrow which launched for small metal rods which embedded itself into the suit before releasing a power volt which made contact with the arrow in the ground producing some sort of net that stopped Hammerhead from taking a step further.

"What are you waiting for? that's the last of that arrow we need to take him down before the effects were out!" Hawkeye's words alerted the rest who immediately began their sprint towards Hammerhead.

Black Cat was the first to arrive, with a simple flip she made her way unto the back of the suit and got to work trying to rip out the power source. But it's protective plating was no joking matter, with her claws having made next to no damage, before she was grabbed by the head and flung away but a now free Hammerhead.

Snapping towards the others who were mere inches away, his suit opened up to reveal machine guns which immediately opened fire on the trio.

With near instant reflexes Orphan covered them with her badly damaged cape. The came managed to block most of the gunfire, with a few of the shots making it through the damaged bits.

Hammerhead totally focused on the trio before him missed Hawkeye who managed to release a well timed shot which took down his aiming system. Hammerhead cursed seeing this as he tried to get it back online, the trio wasted no time heading for the back where they released a large amount of attacks.

Hammerhead at this point was clear on what they were aiming for and refused to be defeated so easily. Releasing all available guns on his person, he began to fire wantonly, thinking to himself if he couldn't aim then he would just fire at everything.

Black widow was the first to let go and rush to get out his range, leaving Nightwing and Orphan holding on. Nightwing was next to go as a shot went through his shoulder and caused him to loose his grip.

Orphan who was the only one left decided screw it as she took of her utility belt and stuck it on Hammerhead's back before jumping away from safety.

The four managed to regroup and watched Hammerhead who had his weapons firing non-stop. "Damn it, how are we even supposed to get close now!" Nightwing cursed, "we're not" was Orphan's response as she pulled out a detonator.

With a press of a button there was a massive explosion which brought Hammerhead to his knees whilst taking out all the weapon systems.

The heroes shared a look before rushing in to apprehend Hammerhead. Getting close they managed to see the smoking power source which was blown right of Hammerhead, with the man in question unconscious with a massive wound to his back, without the suits durability the heroes were all sure he would have been dead.

"It's... over" Nightwing was the first to speak as he stared at the man, who had been his enemy all this while was finally brought down.

Orphan who had a smirk noticed something important, "where's Black Cat".

In the ruins of the lab, Black Cat had a smirk as she looked at the Drive in her hands.

"Drop it", the voice managed to catch her by surprise but she quickly put on a smirk. "Congratulations it seems you managed to take down Hammerhead" she regained her sultry tone as she turned to face Orphan.

"What's on the drive?" Orphan questioned, "Schematics... albeit incomplete but hey beggars can't be choosers"

"Hand it over"

"I would really but my employer would not be happy, and I have no doubt you will try to stop me but in your condition... well, see you around Orphan."

Saying that she dropped a flash bang disappearing leaving Orphan simply staring at where Black cat had disappeared, a smirk soon formed on her face however as she looked down at a mini device she had hidden in her hands.

A device which had now destroyed the drive from the inside leaving Black Cat with nothing, oh how Orphan wished she could see Black Cat's expression once she found out.

"Ahh, time to go home I guess", Orphan muttered as she turned to leave the remains of the lab.

This arc has finally come to an end, most you apparently did not enjoy this arc so don't worry there will be no more arcs such as this one and the story will be back on the Batman.
