"My name is Maria Hill I was an agent for S.H.I.E.L.D and I was sent to investigate whether or not you are the Batman."

Hearing Maria's words Jeff was stunned and left speechless. Of course he knew who she was from the very beginning, and his interactions with her were something he originally just found amusing.

As they spent more time together however Jeff started to realise he enjoyed it, the moments they shared together, the conversations they had.

With the truth now out in the open however, the realization that everything would come to an end hit him hard.

"Why?" was all Jeff managed to stutter after gathering himself.

"S.H.I.E.L.D. has fallen, all it's files have been uploaded unto the internet. It wouldn't be hard to find out the truth but I... I just thought it would better if you heard the truth from me."

"So you are making the rounds then, telling everyone you've ever decieved the truth... or am I just special?" Jeff tried to make a joke but the hurt he tried to hide slipped out.

"I guess this is goodbye" with those words Maria turned to leave. She had taken but a few steps when she heard Jeff's voice, "I knew". She came to a halt turning around to look at Jeff.

Jeff moved to his desk and tapped on a button, causing his office to enter privacy mode preventing anyone else from knowing what was happening in the office.

"I knew who you were from the very moment I set eyes on you." Jeff observed the changes on Maria's face and continued on, "I originally allowed for everything mainly because I wanted to know more as well as to mess with Fury. How? S.H.I.E.L.D's files have always been easily accessible to me. "

A look of realisation flashed in Maria's eyes which Jeff was quick to catch.

"So Fury was right, you are him"

"I am the Batman" Jeff gave a nod. "You are quite the actor"

"I have been acting since I was born into this world. I have told many lies in my life but right now I don't want to lie, I don't want this to be goodbye. I don't want you to leave."

"I... I can't"

"you can, it doesn't matter what happens whichever enemies decide to come because I will be there and as long as I am no one can hurt."

"Do I look like the kind of Iady that needs protection". Maria gained a smirk as she said that. "No, I just want to be by your side throughout everything", Jeff moved to stand mere inches away from Maria who simply stared into his eyes.

In a Hydra facility at an undisclosed location;

Alarms blared throughout out the building as soldiers grabbed their weapons and rushed towards the source of the commotion.

The leading soldier rushed towards a door prepared to breach when a green hand burst through the door and tore his heart out.

The sudden events caused the soldiers behind to get into position and open fire. Their weapons spat out tongues of flames continuously towards the door.

Just as the soldiers were begining to think they had succeeded the cackle which seemed to be the embodiment of insanity. The cackle continued to grow drowning out the sounds of gunfire and implanting a fear unlike any other into the hearts of all the soldiers present.

The screams of the soldiers as they were ripped apart was heard throughout the entire facility. In a few minutes all was quiet as green goblin made his way to entrance.

Expecting another welcoming party green goblin opened the door and stepped out with a wide grin.

His grin vanished with his expressions turning into one of confusion, the grounds before him was dyed red as with the corpses of his enemies littering the ground.

"So it's true, the green goblin lives"

"And who the hell are you?" green goblin tilted his head as he looked at the man who was clearly responsible for the scene before him. He was seated atop an armored car. The man was dressed in body armor with two katanas strapped to his back, a mask covered the entirety of his face hiding his identity.

"I am a man, A man who shares a common goal with you."

"And what might that goal be?"

"The destruction of the Batman", "well, well, well, you have my attention" Green Goblin flashed the mystery man a wide grin as his yellow eyes lit up with joy.
