Hirosaki's Playbook! (Not a Chapter)

AN__: It took me a lot of time to produce something like this. I hope the basketball enthusiasts will enjoy this one and help me design or pick other plays for me. It may seem like a lot of plays but most of them are variations. However, most of the time, p&R will be played. That's the signature of Hirosaki High.

So...yeah. I hope you like it, though.

High Pick-and-Roll Play (Ryota and Natsuki):

-Ryota initiates the play at the top of the key.

-Natsuki sets a high pick for Ryota and then rolls to the basket.

-Ryota can choose to drive to the hoop or pass to Natsuki on the roll.

-Akiko and Hana spot up beyond the three-point line, ready for a kick-out pass if the defense collapses on Ryota and Natsuki.

-Kaito positions himself for an offensive rebound or a mid-range shot.

This play capitalizes on Ryota's playmaking ability, Natsuki's presence in the paint, and the outside shooting threats of Akiko and Hana.

Fast Break Play (Sora and Akiko):

-The play begins after a defensive rebound by Natsuki or Kaito.

-Ryota quickly outlets the ball to Sora, who excels in transition.

-Sora uses his speed to push the ball up the court and draws defenders.

-Akiko sprints to the three-point line, positioning himself for an open shot.

-Natsuki trails the play, providing an option in the low post.

-Hana runs the wing for additional spacing.

This play capitalizes on Sora's speed and ball-handling, allowing for fast-paced, open three-point attempts by Akiko.

Inside-Out Play (Natsuki and Hana):

-The play starts with Ryota's dribble penetration toward the paint.

-Natsuki establishes post position, drawing his defender toward the basket.

-If Ryota's defender helps on the drive, he kicks the ball out to Hana, positioned beyond the arc.

-Hana, known for his mid-range and three-point shooting, has the option to take the shot or make an extra pass to an open teammate.

-Akiko and Kaito position themselves for offensive rebounds.

This play leverages Natsuki's inside presence to create open perimeter shots for Hana and capitalizes on Ryota's penetration skills.

Double Screen Play (Akiko Double Screen):

-Akiko starts on the wing, and Kaito sets a screen for him.

-As Akiko comes off the first screen, Natsuki sets a second screen.

-This play is designed to free Akiko for an open three-point shot.

-Ryota and Hana position themselves for possible offensive rebounds, while Takeshi is an option for a kick-out pass.

Low Post Entry Play (Natsuki or Kaito Low Post Entry): Both Kaito and Natsuki can do the play.

-The play begins with Ryota at the top of the key.

-Natsuki establishes a deep post position and calls for the ball.

-Ryota passes the ball into the post to Natsuki.

-Natsuki, a strong post player, can either go for the score or look for open teammates if the defense collapses.

-Akiko, Hana, and Kaito space the floor for potential kick-out passes.

Backdoor Cut for Hana (Hana Backdoor):

-Hana starts on the weak side wing.

-Akiko and Daiki position themselves on the same side.

-Hana makes a sharp cut toward the basket as if he's going for a three-point shot.

-Ryota delivers a precise pass to Hana for an easy backdoor layup.

This play relies on Hana's agility and deceptive cuts.

Pick-and-Pop with Kaito (Kaito Pick-and-Pop):

-Kaito sets up near the top of the key, and Natsuki sets a pick.

-After the pick, instead of rolling to the basket, Kaito pops out to the three-point line.

-Ryota can pass to Kaiito for an open three-pointer if the defender collapses on Natsuki.

-Hana and Takeshi provide spacing on the weak side, and Akiko is ready for an offensive rebound.

Suzuki Pick-and-Roll (Kaito P&R):

-Kaito sets a pick for the ball handler at the top of the key.

-After setting the screen, Kaito rolls toward the basket. The ball handler can either drive to the rim, pass to Kaito for a mid-range shot or kick it out to an open shooter if defenders collapse on Kaito.

Capitalize on Kaito's mobility and scoring ability to create high-percentage scoring opportunities.

Kaito's Clutch Isolation (Suzuki Isolation):

-In late-game or critical situations, Kaito isolates himself at the top of the key or mid-range area.

-Kaito uses his dribbling and footwork to create space for a high-percentage shot. If the defense collapses, he can kick it out to an open teammate.

Rely on Kaito's scoring ability and composure under pressure to secure crucial points in tight games.

High-Low Post Play (Natsuki and Kaito High-Low):

-Natsuki positions himself in the low post, and Kaito sets up at the high post.

-Ryota enters the ball to Natsuki in the low post.

-As the defense collapses on Natsuki, he can kick the ball out to Daiki at the high post.

-Daiki, with his versatility, can take a mid-range shot or find open teammates for perimeter shots.

Isolation Play for Takeshi (Takeshi Isolation):

-Ryota begins the play by bringing the ball up the court.

-Takeshi sets up on the wing and calls for an isolation play.

-The rest of the team spaces the floor to give Takeshi room to operate.

-Takeshi uses his slashing ability to take on his defender one-on-one.

-If the defense collapses on Takeshi, he can kick the ball out to an open teammate for a shot.

Pick-and-Roll with Takeshi (Takeshi P&R):

-Ryota initiates the play at the top of the key.

-Takeshi sets up on the wing, and Natsuki sets a pick for him.

-Takeshi can choose to use the pick and drive to the basket or take a mid-range shot.

-If the defense collapses on Takeshi, he can pass to Natsuki rolling to the basket.

-Akiko and Ryota spot up for three-point shots on the weak side.

Off-Ball Screen Play for Takeshi (Takeshi Off-Ball):

-Takeshi starts off the ball near the baseline.

-Akiko or Ryota sets a screen to free Takeshi for a catch-and-shoot opportunity.

-Takeshi uses screens and his mid-range ability to get open for a shot.

-Natsuki positions himself in the low post for offensive rebounds.

-Daiki provides an extra screen or sets up for a possible kick-out pass.
