4 Ultimatrix?!

"Finally, some time alone."

Ben was now eating a proper meal in his newly bought apartment, where he had just moved in.

How did he get the necessary money for buying an apartment? Simple.

Ghostfreak, with his intangibility and invisibility skills, was a great help for him to get all the money he had now.

He made a trip to one of Metropolis' banks and got about $140,000.

Ben didn't choose a big bank mostly because he didn't want that much attention on such a small topic as money.

And the sum he got was enough to last him probably three months or even less because he wants to start his experiments.

"First experiment. Recreating the Ultimatrix."

Indeed, Ben wanted to recreate the Ultimatrix with the help of Greymatter and some human technology.

"The Omnitrix version of Greymatter should be the most intelligent species he has and the closest to Azmuth."

"And it's not like I want to recreate the Omnitrix."

"All I need to do is create a virtual reality inside the Omnitrix where aliens would be challenged until they reach their Ultimate forms."

Of course, Ben knew that it wasn't as easy as it sounds with this human technology.

To recreate such a thing that even Azmuth couldn't do while Albedo succeeded but with a lot of viruses and errors.

Making the Ultimatrix give the aliens its created memories and feelings, which resulted in them forcing their way out.

The first steps he needs to take are to unlock master control on his Omnitrix.

Because he will need to use other aliens' DNA to empower the ultimates he wants to make.

At least that's what he thinks Azmuth used to make the worst possible scenario for the alien he evolves. Besides the changes in their natural environment.

"Access master control."

With a small green light, the Omnitrix began to speak while using Ben's voice.

"Master control unlocked."

"Cool, it worked. I was kinda skeptical about this because Azmuth used his voice, but looks like my Omnitrix master control works even with my voice."

Ben didn't play with his Omnitrix master control as he transformed himself into Grey Matter and started to research anything useful to buy for his project.

{...}

After a week of constantly staying in his Grey Matter form and experimenting with virtual reality, it failed.

"Again and again, it continues to fail. But the good part is that I can tell that I'm getting closer little by little."

The aspect of using human technology to create a battlefield where the aliens' DNA could evolve and then making it compatible with the Omnitrix was killing him.

Grey Matter even created all types of intelligent electronics that he lost in the dark market for more money.

Intelligent PCs and watches, immune to any type of interference and hacking.

Whenever his main project would have a slight error, all his work would be completely destroyed.

So again and again, he needed to buy materials for constant testing.

His bank account, on the other hand, was filled with money, so he could continue his experiments constantly. A sum of $50,000,000.

All he sold were two intelligent PCs and about five watches, which of course were all sold to Bruce Wayne.

He was the one to buy them from the dark market. At first, Ben thought he wouldn't make more than 2-3 million, but here he was with 50 million.

Of course, it didn't bother him where his useless experiments would go. He is the type to sell to the guy that offers more, not the one with a better personality.

Even Lex Luthor contacted him, asking if he would make more of his useless experiments, but he denied.

He had enough money right now and couldn't just abandon his Ultimatrix for some more money.

He didn't forget to reinforce this 7-story building he bought first before he made any experiments.

Ben didn't bother to make an underground base as it was just a waste of time in his eyes.

His first week in Metropolis was quite, as all he did was constantly experimenting and failing.

But he didn't give up, mostly because he didn't have anything else to do, and he started to adapt with his Grey Matter form.

{...}

Now a month passed while Ben constantly stayed in his Grey Matter form.

Even though he was advancing in his Ultimatrix project, it was too slow.

"From my calculations, it will take me about 20-30 years to finish the Omnitrix, which is too long."

"And those numbers, if we don't put the Earth nearly getting destroyed numerous times in the calculations."

"Maybe if I get some Kryptonian technology, I would be able to make the Ultimatrix faster. But from where would I find that?"

"Zod is already defeated, and Krypton is extinct. And I can't ask Superman for it, can I?"

But at that exact moment, Grey Matter started laughing like a psychopath.

"If I can't make Superman tell me how to make Krypton technology, I would just scan his DNA and create it myself."

Even though Ben knew it would speed his progress, he still didn't know how much.

It could be from a small change, 20 or 25 years, to a greater change that could speed the process of the Ultimatrix to a year.

He knows that these Kryptonians are probably monkeys in comparison to his intelligence, but they had at their disposal other types of resources.

And the most important thing is that they know where to find those specific materials.

It's something they are taught from a young age, and this will help Ben the most.

He doesn't have all his life to explore the secrets of space. While maybe it could be an interesting adventure, it isn't something made for him.

"Now that I think, how would I look when I take his DNA? I would become the apex of his race, but would I look the same as Superman?"

"Enough of useless thinking. After I failed this time too, I will go find Superman."

With those words, he continues his experiments, but it didn't take long until it exploded itself.
