Coming Back

Stan's pov

I couldn't stop thinking about the incident.

'I can't believe that was actually my dad... He seemed so... Normal...what happened to him?'

"Stan, you okay?"

I look back at Kyle seeing him worried.

"I don't know dude.. I can't get over what happened yesterday."

"Yeah I know, it's crazy but we need to move on."

I look down thinking to myself.

"What if I went back?"

"What?! Why would you want to go back?"

"Kyle... My life fucking sucks, my dad is a fucking idiot. He forces me and Shelly to do anything he wants. Fuck, I moved to a marijuana farm. I want to change all this."

"Stan it's dangerous.."

"Yeah well she's changing something too, why can't I?"

"It could erase your existence."

"Well maybe it's worth trying!"I spat without thinking.

He tensed looking like he could cry at that moment.

"I.. Didn't realize it was that bad."

"It is Kyle.. I haven't been this depressed in so long I can't handle it anymore." I chocked up feeling near tears myself.

"Okay Stan... Just... please be careful..."

Jess's pov

My dad's day was terrible, so I did my best to get his mind off of the miscarriage.

We went out to get a shake. He looked less sad as we were talking and getting to know one another. He's the sweetest guy ever, his stories are crazy. Apparently that's not the only time he saved a life, it happens a lot actually. The drivers here are still crazy.

"So... Here's a question, you have been here for awhile. Do you have any boys that catch your eye?" He blurted out.

My face heat up due to embarrassment as my DAD asked me such a thing.

"N-no.. I... Don't date." I stuttered.

"You couldn't foul me, you don't seem interested at all."

"No, not really.."

"Well what about those boys before, I'm still confused about them you know, a year ago?"

"Oh uhh.. They were new and never came back. I don't know why though."

"Hmm okay, well maybe it's for the best."

"Yeah... I couldn't agree more."

"Well this was an interesting day Jess, thank you for getting my mind off of this."

"Oh... It's no problem.."

We walked out of the restaurant.

"So... What now?"

"Hmm... I mean... We can go to the drive-in and watch a movie." He suggested.

"Oh uhh, okay." I said smiling while thinking about going to a drive-in for the first time.

"Well the gang is coming too, hope you don't mind."

"Randy and the others?"

"Yeah we all gotten really close lately. He's a really great guy."

"I don't mind at all."

"Okay good. Well let's get going before curfew."

We were walking on the sidewalk as I hear a car from behind. Not even thinking I grabbed my dads hand and pushed him in the grass as I jumped on the grass right behind him.

My heart raced quickly as I saw the car on the sidewalk driving off quickly. My breath hitched looking over at Peter.

"Are you okay?" I asked quickly getting back up on my feet.

He looked at me dumbfounded.

"Y-yes I'm... Alright.. Thanks to you.." He breathed out.

'Did... I just... Save his life... Is that the time he died? No it can't be because I wasn't conceived yet.'

I breathed out helping him on his feet.

"You saved me..."

"Yes of course, I would do it again if I had to."

When I helped him up he hugged me tight.

"I'll never forget it."

I hugged him back closing my eyes never wanting to let go.

'I'll never forget either dad..'

"Just know I got your back." I said feeling my voice shake.

When we pulled away he smiled and patted my back.

"Your the best."

"You are too Peter, I'll be sure your okay. It doesn't matter if it's emotionally or physically."

"I... Don't know what to say." He said clearly flattered.

"You don't have to say anything."

The rest of the day was interesting. We went to the drive-in while Pete told the guys I saved his life, gaining the respect from all his friends.

We were watching a movie when I notice something off in the distance. It was a bright light. Then it hit me, how familiar it looked. It was a doorway in the middle of the woods.

I look at the guys seeing they didn't notice.

"Boys, I'll be back."

"Okay, Jessica. Be careful."

"I will."

I walk in the woods looking around.

'I swear that door was right here...'

I look around then suddenly felt my heart sink to my stomach as I felt a tap on my shoulder. I jumped and screamed but it became muffled screams when a hand was placed over my mouth.

"Shh, hey it's me."

My eyes widen.

"Stan?" I muffled.

I felt him let go. I turn around getting really worked up and angry.

"What are you doing, I told you to leave me!" I harshly whispered getting more and more angry.

"Hey I know what you said but..I know you want to change your past with your father. What if your not the only one."

"W-Wait.. What do you mean?"

He sighed out while looking down at his feet.

"I have an alcoholic, drug using foul of a father. I don't know what happened to my dad... I just want a normal life with a normal father. Please help me.." He begged while looking up at me with near tears in his eyes.

'He's being serious...'
