New Lives Call for New Looks
"Well, whatever." I shrugged and turned to her.
"Could we get a wardrobe change or something, because my wig- er, hair is bothering me right now," I said, awkwardly.
Ruby gave me an okay sign and put us all into separate changing stalls. I don't think she noticed my big stumble. I sighed.
"Hey, Mom. I hate you. Your second prediction happened. Only 1 left. But why couldn't you have told me why I needed to hide?" I whispered to myself.
My mother, Rosielle Xi, was a very famous actress. I get the whole part where I had to hide from the paparazzi, but did I really need a wig? My hair color was different from my mom and dad's. Like, I don't get the point.
I yanked the black wig off my head and blonde wavy hair fell down near my waist. I took off my old clothes and put on the new ones that were prepared for me. It was a black and white shirt with a long white coat that stopped right before it reaches my wrist but below my elbow. The black shorts and boots that I had made my outfit contrast with my hair and stand out.
I turned towards the mirror and saw a girl that I haven't seen for 16 years. My blonde hair still had pink and blue streaks in it. I twirled around to get a full view of my outfit and smiled. Only one word could describe this outfit.
"Perfect."
I jumped around at the familiar voice and sighed with relief.
"Ruby, what are you doing?" I asked.
"I-I'm sorry. I don't think we met?" she responded nervously.
"That's right. The black-haired girl left beforehand. And you saw me enter this room, right?" I said, almost threateningly.
"Y-yes. I didn't see anyone but you in here. And the black-haired girl left first," she stammered.
I patted her head.
"Good girl."
I looked up and frowned. No one needed to know what I actually looked like. And wait... come to think of it, my chest feels heavier. I looked down and let out a cry.
My chest was just as big as Lucy's!
"W-what?!" I sputtered.
"Oh that. It's to help your disguise," Ruby said smiling shyly.
I turned towards her in surprise. So she did know.
"You aren't-"
"To say a word about this. I know. I got that threat early from His Greatness. Trust me, not fun," she crossed her arms.
We walked right out of the changing room to where the other 4 were waiting.
"What took you so long, ugly girl?" Carnie sneered as she turned around and faced me.
"Excuse me. Do I know you?" I said in a cold voice.
"S-s-sorry. I mistook you for someone else," she stammered.
"Do I look ugly to you?" I said in the same tone.
It was like the room dropped 10 degrees Fahrenheit.
"No. Of course not," she blabbered. "You're gorgeous, no, a goddess."
Carnie kept on rambling on and on.
"Um, miss," Calvin asked.
"Yes?"
He stepped back and hesitated before speaking up again.
"Have you seen this black-haired girl-?"
"She left already," Ruby interrupted. "I just received this girl from my coworker. He had too many people. Anyways, have fun!"
She gave them a smile and teleported them to Fiore.
"Where did you send them too?" I asked.
"I sent the two girls to near Raven Tail's base and the two boys to Lamia Scale. Why?"
She looked at me like a little sister asking her big sister for advice on homework. Seen that way too many times before.
"Nothing. What's the year there?" I was taking this seriously. I didn't want to mess up all the ships in FairyTail. They need to happen. #NaLu4Life!!!!
"It's July 2, X784," Ruby replied.
"Good. Send me to Hargeon, the port town. I have someone to meet there."
I smiled, thinking of my new future ahead.
"Alrighty! See you!" Ruby screamed as I was teleported to Hargeon.
I closed my eyes for a few seconds and opened them to see a place I could only dream of seeing myself. A bustling town with seagulls and.... very few wizards. Seems like I'm in the right place.
"First thing on my list: Meet Lucy Heartfillia, Natsu Dragneel, Happy, and join FairyTail!" I cheered.
People in the square looked at me weirdly and I waved in response. Nothing was going to bring me down. Now... just to find that shop Lu-chan's in. My adventure's just getting started!
