24 Chapter 24

It did not take long for Hyun Na Bi to select the dress and they were out of the store within a few minutes.

Nam Joon Woo dropped Hyun Na Bi and said to her, "Get dressed I will pick you up at 5"

Maybe if it was her old self, Hyun Na Bi wouldn't have known how to conduct herself in such parties and she would have been nervous and too careful to avoid making mistakes. But now it was different, she had years of experience in it. Hyun Na Bi had seen all kinds of drama unfold in such parties and she had seen everyone shamelessly pretend to be perfect and live a perfect life even if their personal life was in tatters. And that had also included her. Even when Hyun Na Bi's was falling apart, during the parties held by her family and for others she went with her husband she had presented herself as if Park Dae Hyun and her were the most harmonious couple in the world. At least in the past she has to behave in a certain way for the sake of her husband's family and she couldn't even talk freely but now that was not the case. Too many eyes were watching her in the past trying to find any flaw with her but now no one knew who she was. So even though Hyun Na Bi wasn't excited about going there she wasn't really nervous. Late afternoon, she had gone straight to the hair salon and gotten ready.

Hyun Na Bi sent the address to Nam Joon Woo so that he can come pick her there but Nam Joon Woo sent her a text, 'I have some work to care off. I sent a car instead. Come fast I will be waiting for you'

Like Nam Joon Woo said, there was a car waiting for her when she was ready and she was taken straight to the venue.

The birthday party was held in a grand hotel she had visited quite often in the past. Several VIP events were held here throughout the year and all the elites of the society can be found here.

Hyun Na Bi got down from the car and was waiting for Nam Joon Woo to come pick her up. She was already an uninvited guest in the party and she was sure there were strict security measures so she waited patiently for Nam Joon Woo to arrive.

That was when the thought crossed Hyun Na Bi's mind. What if Park Dae Hyun was present here? The Park family was one of the richest families in the city and they come from old money. There was definitely a high possibility of at least her mother in law no… her former mother in law being present and Hyun Na Bi wasn't sure if she could control her emotions. If Park Dae Hyun was present, Hyun Na Bi couldn't imagine the situation…

She was in the middle of her thoughts when she saw Nam Joon Woo approaching. Hyun Na Bi was used to seeing Nam Joon Woo in casual wear so it was odd for her to see him fully suited up. He was definitely handsome and Hyun Na Bi had no doubts about that at that moment.

Hyun Na Bi could hear her stomach growl in hunger as she had gone straight to the salon in the afternoon without eating.

When Nam Joon Woo reached her side, Hyun Na Bi said to him, "Am so so hungry. I haven't had anything from afternoon and I'm starving. Tell me I can eat soon"

But Nam Joon Woo wasn't listening to her. He was stunned by her beauty. Nam Joon Woo had never seen Hyun Na Bi dressed so elegantly and he couldn't take his eyes off her.

Nam Joon Woo was looking at her from top to bottom, "Wow!!! You look gorgeous"

Hyun Na Bi could see the glint in his eyes and she winked at him, "I know"

The guests were starting to arrive and since it was Nam Joon Woo's father's birthday, the guests were waiting to talk to Nam Joon Woo. He wasn't interested in all this small talk with these people but he had no choice but to talk to them.

Nam Joon Woo whispered to Hyun Na Bi "Wait for me. I'll be back in a minute" and moved to a group of men who looked like his friends.

Hyun Na Bi was standing in a corner silently observing the crowd. She could recognize a few of the faces from her past life but they weren't anyone important in her life so she ignored them. Hyun Na Bi was just looking around and that is when she noticed a woman entering the hall with a boy. Hyun Na Bi had seen so much in that past 15 years that she did not think that there was anything left that would surprise her anymore. But she was wrong.

The woman she thought had been dead all these years was walking there alive right in front of her eyes. How is this possible? How is her sister Hyun Dan Bi alive? Hyun Dan Bi died when she was 18… how was she standing there in front of her? When Hyun Na Bi was about to walk towards her sister, that's when she saw her mother coming into view. They were all laughs and smiles as they were greeting the guests and Hyun Na Bi no longer wanted to stay there, she wanted to leave. What made the situation worse for her was Jin Yong standing there with Ahn Se Na and talking to her parents.

Hyun Na Bi started walking towards the door hurriedly and seeing that Nam Joon Woo excused himself and caught up with her.

Nam Joon Woo stopped her, "Where are you going?"

Even after Hyun Na Bi stopped walking Nam Joon Woo did not let go of her hand.

Hyun Na Bi pointed out to her sister, "Who is that?"

Nam Joon Woo said with a hint of disgust in his voice, "Song Ji Hye, the worst human being you can ever find anywhere. And that woman is the worst cunning vixen I have ever seen"

He continued, "She killed my mother and…"

But Seeing Hyun Na Bi's pale face he stopped telling the story, and asked her, "What's wrong?"

Hyun Na Bi asked him once again unable to believe her ears, "She is your step mother and that's your father?"

Is that why Hyun Dan Bi left? Did she leave behind her family just to get married to an old man? Hyun Na Bi couldn't understand why her sister would do something like this? And it looked like she had even changed her name to Song Ji Hye. Nam Joon Woo's father must be in his late 50's and her sister was standing there with him next to him like nothing could make her happier. Then the little boy must be her son, the nephew she never she had who is Nam Joon Woo's half brother.

Nam Joon Woo shook her slightly bringing her out of her trance, "Yes but what's wrong with you?"

Hyun Na Bi was not ready for them to see her now. She had to leave this place, "I have to leave sorry…"

Nam Joon Woo still held Hyun Na Bi's hand and he could feel that she was sweating so much. Hyun Na Bi was about to walk out but he did not let her.

"Let's leave after we eat something"

Hyun Na Bi couldn't stay in that place for another second, "I lost my appetite"

She felt suffocated and wanted to leave before her sister or her mother saw her.

Nam Joon Woo looked around trying to find out why there was a sudden change in Hyun Na Bi but he couldn't find anything. No one was looking in their direction and nothing seemed to be odd or out of place. Everyone was busy minding their own business and no one was looking in their direction except Jin Yong.

Nam Joon Woo started walking out with her holding her hands, "I'm coming with you"

"What about the party?"

"I no longer want to stay here… Come let's go somewhere else…"

"No drop me home"

"Let's have a drink"

Hyun Na Bi thought for a whole moment and then nodded her head as she walked away from the place. Not ready to face the reality of the situation.
