Chapter 27

Turning around she faced the man who broke her spirit and her self-esteem 29 years ago "Hello, Mr. Timmons"

"Trying to avoid us eh?" he asked. His breath caught in his throat as he took a good look at the beautiful woman standing a few feet from him. She was beautiful. She could pass off as Diane's sister!

"That was the plan" she wryly.

"Don't think we didn't see you running away like a child when you saw us" he laughed.

"I didn't know that you knew Yandi" trying to be pleasant.

"It is small world for us rich people Esther. To be honest we weren't going to come but word was going around the block that the Reyes would be attending. After Diane cut us off we couldn't locate any of you. So this was an opportunity that we weren't going to miss. You know something, you Reyes women are very hard to track. But if it had to be at this party so be it"

"For what" she said coldly.

"To talk to Diane. We were also expecting Diane. Where is she?" he asked her coldly.

"She couldn't make it" she said simply. No more, no less.

"I wonder why" looking at her in anger

She said nothing.

"Too busy at home with her fiancé I bet" he sneered

"That is really none of your concern now is it Mr. Timmons?" she asked him quietly.

"Well she is my daughter. So it does concern me" he bit back

"Since when? Hmm since when?" now furious at the brute. Bug maintaining her cool.

"Since she has something that my godson wants" he growled.

"If that is the case, she has nothing, absolutely nothing that is his"

"She has his child" he growled clenching his fist.

Choosing her words carefully so as to not let anything slip, for Diane had made it clear that they only knew of one son. The less he and his goons knew the better "I am sorry but I was not aware of that. Last time I checked, which was this evening, my grandson was happily at home with his parents. And FYI that would be George and the soon to be Diane Sinclair"

And it gave her great satisfaction when he was at loss of words and the sheer look of shock.

"She is really marrying him?" he asked

"Yes she is"

"She loves him?"

"I would answer that question but our concepts of love do not match"

"No. No she cannot do this to him" he kept mumbling to himself

"What?"

"She cannot do this to Collins" he growled angrily. Why did she ever love this man? "You disgust me" she muttered to herself.

"Does George Sinclair know how much of a slut she really is?

How she will sleep with any man to climb the ladders of success?" he sneered at her.

"Does your wife know how much of a slut you are? Which reminds me how is your wife? A little birdie told me that she moved out of your house and into a new swinging condo" she smiled sweetly at him. But inside she was ready to slap him senseless.

"How did you know about that? Not even my children know about that" he whispered looking at her for the first time in fear. He was too ashamed to even tell his children that the love of his life had left him and had filed for divorce.

"I too have friends. You forget something Eric, I am

Colombian. We love passionately. And we will kill and destroy passionately anyone who makes the mistake of killing the people we love. We love hard and we fight hard till there is nothing left in us. And that same spirit and the blood runs through my veins. You don't know the lengths I will go through to protect my own. Don't test me Eric, for you don't know the lengths I will go through to right the wrongs I have done. Stay the hell away from my family"

At this he became speechless. What happened to the once frail woman? As he was thinking about this, she tried to pass by and get to the door. She was very close, but Eric grabbed her arm

"Word of advice Esther don't become collateral damage"

"Eric, the day that you turned your back on your daughter and threw her out of your house and made her life hell on earth that was the day I became collateral damage" pulling her arm

away.

"One more thing Eric, I want you to look me in the eye and see how serious I am when I say these words. The next time I see you around me and around my family is the day that you will be ruined. Now if you will excuse me"

And she left him standing there stumped. Eric Timmons stood there in complete and utter shock? What was happening why was he allowing the women in his life to hurt him. First his wife and now his ex-mistress.

Esther meanwhile, was back in the room and she was trying to get back in the swing of things but she was still too flustered after her conversation with Eric. She saw Collins eyeing her and she glared at him then she shifted her gaze elsewhere.

She smiled at a couple of people then decided to head home in a couple of minutes. She was not feeling well. Before leaving she saw Ashley and she was looking so happy and excited about something. She didn't really care about the girl and made her way to the door.

"I didn't know that you were going to be here?" she heard Ashley Timmons explain to someone. The person was blocked from her view.

"Yeah I was invited" came a deep rich voice. A voice that haunts her.

At this she momentarily froze. That voice, it couldn't be he was not even supposed to be in the country.

She quickly said goodbye to her friend the host then hurried out the doors and to her car.

Hopping in and throwing her purse to the passenger seat she took a couple of deep breaths to calm herself. This could not be happening.

Looking for her keys she finally found them and fiddled with a couple of minutes. Inserting the right key into her ignition, she gasped when her car door was thrust opened and standing there was a man she never know

"Ma'am please get out of the car" he said

She shook her head.

"Ma'am please. Now"

She dazedly stood down the car and he took her arm and led her to a black limousine. Opening the door, he gently pushed her in and then closed the door.

"You know, leaving the party in hurry that was a bit cowardly, don't you agree?" the voice she feared said across from the seat.

"What are you doing here?" she whispered

"Not expecting me, hmm?" he said in a dangerous voice.

She said nothing.

Without a word he pulled her from her seat into his lap and growled in her ear "I don't like waiting Reyes"

"What is going to happen to my car?" she whispered squirming in his laps, trying to get away.

Then he started to laugh "You are here on my lap with me angry at you and all you can think of is your car? Well if you must know someone is driving it home"

"You know where I live?" she asked

"Yup. Surprised?"

"What is going to happen to me?" she asked him, ignoring the question.

"For starters this" he growled. Then he latched his lips on her in a demanding kiss.
