Amanda thought she was born this way, to be betrayed, and end up like a fool who doesn't know what it is to live like a powerful person. She only dreamed of living a simple life with Edmund, her fiancée. However, she didn't expect to be betrayed by someone she'd loved. She's lost everything but the precious ring her mother had given her. Knowing she couldn't let them have their way, she swallowed the ring before plunging to her death. Chapter 60
"How do I look, mom?" Shannon twirled.
Amanda studied her dress.
A silk dress with a ribbon belt on the side, velvet trimmed at the bottom.
'Not bad.' Amanda turned away.
'She's good with designing, almost surpassing the Sigma Designs. Although the style's a bit off.'
"Excellent dear! You look dazzling!" Sabrina gasped,
"Aw, thank you mother." Shannon smiled, flattered.
She saw Amanda and acted sad.
"Sister, don't be upset. Mother only managed to grab two invitations. We can't go in there without it, and I badly wanted to go." She said pitifully,
"Don't worry about her, dear. She can't even dress properly. I bet she doesn't even have a sense of fashion as good as yours. She'll just embarrass us going there wearing something casual." Sabrina mocked.
"Sister, who said I was upset?" Amanda smiled,
"Well, I know you wanted to go badly-" Shannon tried to say,
"It's not like I've never attended an occasion like that before. Mr. Walkers always hosts parties like that at his place. I've seen it a thousand times." Amanda grinned.
Sabrina gritted her teeth.
"Let's go, Shannon. We're going to be late!" Sabrina grabbed her.
'Wench! I'll deal with you later.'
'The party would be starting on 10, why are they going there at 8?' Amanda scoffed as they left.
She went to the bathroom and bathed.
She put on her dress and did her hair.
She put on light makeup and put on her shoes.
Just as she got outside, Chase's car just parked at the front.
"You look beautiful." He complimented,
"As always. Thanks." Amanda winked.
They were greeted by the paparazzi who took pictures of them from any angle.
"Is that Mr. Wilson with Ms. Wiles?" One of the guests pointed,
"I've just heard they've started dating"
"My, they look like a cute couple. I'm jealous."
"Yeah, her sister's also talented in designing. But hers is an overkill."
"Look at the linings and patterns of her dress, it fits perfectly on the theme."
"I bet on her winning this one."
"Well, since Ms. Contraire can't attend due to some important things."
Everyone clapped their hands as they walked down the entrance.
"Impressive, Amanda." Ivy walked towards them,
"Not bad yourself Ivy." Amanda smiled.
Sabrina and Shannon were chatting with other guests on the other side.
Ivy herself led Amanda and Chase to the largest table where most people Amanda is fond of, sat.
Mr. Walkers made the opening remarks as the banquet starts.
During the banquet, Sabrina spotted Amanda among the VIP guests.
Her dress was outshining Shannon's.
'That explains why she looks so unimpressed when I break it to her.' Sabrina clenched her dress.
Shannon was also giving Amanda a side eye with daggers.
She was surprised how Amanda can design such perfect outfit that matches the theme.
Although the combination of the theme was quite complicated, Amanda still has a way to match it perfectly and make it more stunning.
"I thought you're one of those best designers they've talked about? Your outfit looks impres
sive, but it is kind of a little vague from the theme." One of the guests questioned.
