Amanda thought she was born this way, to be betrayed, and end up like a fool who doesn't know what it is to live like a powerful person. She only dreamed of living a simple life with Edmund, her fiancée. However, she didn't expect to be betrayed by someone she'd loved. She's lost everything but the precious ring her mother had given her. Knowing she couldn't let them have their way, she swallowed the ring before plunging to her death. Chapter 34
- Simeon
After clearing up, Simeon smashed a glass of smoothie at the floor.
"Damn it!!", he bellowed.
He turned to Shannon.
"Is there something I need to know?" He restrained from yelling,
"W-what?" Shannon bent down to clean the mess, her heart hammering rapidly against her chest.
"What did she mean about the Emersons?" He asked,
"I- what do you mean?" Shannon looked at him, ready to cry.
Simeon softened a little. 'Maybe they didn't know about it yet.'
"Do you have someone from school with the last name 'Emerson'?" He stiffened.
Shannon nodded.
"Who?"
"Her name's, Victoria. Victoria Emerson. She's one of the top 3 students at school." Shannon murmured.
'Good thing it wasn't her brother. It would've been worse.' Simeon heaved a sigh of relief.
"And the girl who stormed off earlier?" He asked,
"She's Hannah Solace. One of Victoria's close friends." Shannon stammered.
"Shannon." He sighed,
"Yes?" She straightened.
"I advice you to stay away from them. I'll transfer you to another school next semester."
'That way, I can avoid them.'
Simeon despite being busy, now felt like someone will come to take away everything he has.
He became insecure of Amanda.
We'll be waiting for Ms. Amanda to take back the company her mother bestowed to her.
Those words echoed nonstop in his mind.
'I have to make Shannon take over the company.' He controlled his breath. 'Maybe I can transfer her into Corona Austra University. That way it'll give a great record. I'll just have to get Amanda expelled from there.'
He thought about how to execute his perfect plan.
- Shannon
'Did daddy just say he'll transfer me next semester?' Shannon paced her room back and forth.
'I think I'll ask him why.'
Shannon went over to Simeon's study.
Her mom was asleep.
'I think she's tired after fixing everything up.'
She passed her parent's bedroom and knocked at the door of his father's office/study.
"Come in."
Shannon slowly opened the door.
Her father was sitting at the couch near the wide window overlooking the city.
He gestured for her to sit at the other couch apart from his.
"What is it?" He asked.
"Umm... what do you mean about having me transferred?" She asked, her heart almost stopping,
"About that," he poured wine in a glass and took a sip, "I'm planning to transfer you to Corona Austra University."
Shannon's heart leaped with joy.
'Am I dreaming? I'll be transferred to that dream university the next semester!'
Shannon almost squealed with excitement.
"I know you're excited dear. But remember to prepare yourself for the entrance exam. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity, and you need to grab it."
