1 Chapter 1: Owe You a Life (1)_1

On a rainy night, beneath an abandoned building in East Dragon City.

A girl in a blue and white school uniform, holding a small umbrella, passed by.

The weather was as chilly as autumn. Yuanya stopped, intending to take her coat out of her bag to put on.

Just as she was struggling to open the zipper, a sudden burst of loud shouts came from above.

"What the hell are you smirking at! Bei Yunhuan, I'm telling you today; it's either you die or I perish! Since you've left no way out for me, one death is as good as another, but I will drag you down with me! Go to hell!"

At this point, a group of people were standing on the rooftop directly above her position.

A tall and handsome man, holding an umbrella, was surrounded by a circle of men in suits, all armed with guns.

The chubby man leading the group with a gun was saying something to him.

Yuanya clearly caught two words –

To die!?

The voice was filled with a deep killing intent, causing her small hands to tremble uncontrollably. She realized that something was likely going to happen on the rooftop.

Not bothering to retrieve her clothes anymore, Yuanya held her breath, trying to leave this trouble-ridden place without making a sound.

At that moment, the sound of several choppers approached from afar, quickly halting mid-air above the abandoned building.

Chaos ensued on the rooftop with shouts and curses filling the air.

The frightened Yuanya, whose heart was thumping wildly, was quickly reminded by her remaining sanity to hide somewhere immediately.

With the three helicopters hovering right above her, if she tried to make a run for it, she would likely be spotted by those in the air.

If she lost her life in the process...

Her eyes blurred with fear, unable to distinguish between the rain or her tears. She quickly discarded her umbrella and pressed her body tightly against the wall.

"Old Master Luo, you brought this upon yourself," Bei Yunhuan's voice remained steady, but his eyes shone with a menacing glint.

At the very moment when the men were loading their guns, the door to the lead chopper was suddenly opened and a ladder was promptly thrown out, hanging in mid-air unfazed by the storm.

This scene entered Yuanya's view as she peeked upwards.

A figure skillfully climbed down from the chopper, hanging midway on the ladder.

Cloaked in black and suspended in mid-air, he resembled an eagle soaring in the night. His figure was slender and actions swift and precise, not dragging his feet at all.

A faint smoky fog lingered around him as if he had just taken a puff of a cigarette right before exiting the chopper.

He exhaled slowly, looking relaxed as if he was facing only a bunch of rabble-rousers and not a life-threatening situation.

He was calm and composed.

It was him!

Old Master Luo recognized the man who had descended from above, involuntarily gasping and his gun-wielding hand began to shake.

His henchmen were even more dramatic. Their silenced guns, which were initially aimed at Bei Yunhuan and ready to fire, were all thrown away in a panic because of the mysterious man's appearance.

The group dropped to their knees, their arms covering their heads, entirely disarmed and surrendering!

Though Yuanya couldn't see this miraculous scene, Old Master Luo's hysterical shouts brought her back to reality, causing her small frame to tremble.

"Why are you scared of him? Pick up your weapons! Kill! Kill! Kill!!!"

The livid Old Master Luo failed to notice that the man on the ladder had already slowly raised his state-of-the-art handgun.
