CHAPTER 9, THE DRAGON'S ARRIVAL

After finding the hideout of the criminals, a group of knights and mages along with a few of oir guild members qere asked to apprehend them. We easily managed to do so seeing as how they were unarmed. In the depths of the sanctum, there it was, a person who was encased in a crystal. The four nobles had no idea who was the boy inside the crystal... the criminals had no idea as well even when I used hypnosis on them. I have no choice, I'll use my power to see who he is. I placed my hand on the crystal and suddenly memories flooded into my head, these are... they.. they're related... to the... memories I had... the ones from Capricorn... this boy... just who is he? As I was about to use Andromeda's ability we heard the gongs sound and so we rushed to the surface.

A large gong went throughout the city, a strong one, signaling something worse than a wyvern. When we who knew what it meant ran to the watch tower, what we saw petrified some of the knights who were on guard. A horde of dragons and wyverns, what's more the dragons are... their... high ranked black dragons and red dragons. "Let's see what we can do!" Neph said as we joined the fight. The fight was intense with the dragons' ability go use magic.

"Open, Gate of the Lion Familiar, Leo." I held Leo's key, which had a golden hue, the bow round with a rim similar to a lion mane, the gem an orange hue with the Lion symbol engraved into it. A lion head was decorated on the bit with a diamond star on the tip of the key.

"Regulus Roar!" He roared in a loud manner to drive away the dragons but they all just roared back.

"Open, Gate of the Sea Goat Familiar, Capricorn!" I held the Capricorn key into the air as Capricorn appeared holding a large cannon.

"Fire!" He said as he pulled the trigger.

The attacks did little than nothing to harm the dragons... what are we going to do? Just then a giant black Dragon let out a loud screech that caused sone of the knights to freeze in place giving the dragons a chance to attack but Yue used her defensive spell to protect them, I doubt she can do it a second time though. She looks exhausted, we need to end this. "Open! Gate of the-" I was about to open a third gate when Leo roared at me with loud voice.

"Don't open another Gate!" He roared. "Fall back for now, the island's barrier will keep them at bay!"

We all fell back and gathered at the watch tower where all of the other injured people were brought. In a room, we along with Tsubaki-san, the four nobles and Asami and Tetsuya gathered. We all tried to pull ourselves together and figure out what to do when Yuri spoke. "Why not use the Hero's Article?" She said.

"What's that?" Jade asked.

"A large scale destruction spell which draws power from the Island Core." Hoshi-san said. "It would kill two birds with one stone, we'd release the pent up magical power underground and kill all the dragons as well."

"We'd have to sacrifice an island to do that." Ginga-san said. "The destructive force would kill all living beings around except the casters."

"There's an abandoned island to the far east, no one lives there and it's practically destroyed anyway, so why not there?" Tsubaki-san said.

"I see, but then, who would perform the spell?" Hoshi-san asked. "We can't do it since we have to transfer the power of the Island Core to the island manually since the connection to that island is be broken."

"I'll do it." I said, it may be reckless but I need to protect this place.

"No way, it's too reckless!" Himari-san said.

"What choice do we have?!" I asked her.

"We'll go with you." Master said and placed her hand on my shoulder. "Anyone who doesn't want to go is excused."

"No way, we'll all go, right?" Aria asked everyone and they nodded.

"I'll go as well." Asami said.

"No way, it's too dangerous." I said. "Yue, Ella as well, you're not going."

"Says who?" Ella said with serious glare. "We'll go with you, all or nothing."

"Alright." I gave in to the will of the three. "Can I ask you to take care of Tetsuya?"

"Yes, leave him in our care." Tsubaki-san said and we all got ready.

We didn't have much time so we hurried to the island, we boarded an airship that was being operating automatically. Rushinly we departed for the island knowing that te barrier on the island was only going to hold out for a little longer. The spell would destroy the dragons alone. The island wasn't very large, overrun by trees and vines, the place gave an abandoned feel to it. I didn't sense any life near here as well. We all began to take our positions, we'd connect each other's magical power and mix the magical power of the Island Core and then focus it into a single spell. The spell would direct the magical in the Island Core to where we are now and then we'd activate the Hero's Blade which according to Tsubaki-san was a spell that could destroy anything and everything if not controlled properly.

As Haru and his friends departed for the island, the four nobles as well as Tsubaki got ready to initiate the plan. The dragons are drawn here by the magical power in the ground, so according to the lan, they'd send it to the island where Haru and everyone else were preparing and use that to destroy the dragons as well as release the amount of magical energy that has overflowed from the islands, that way the dragons and wyverns wouldn't be drawn here anymore.

With the Island Core finally responding, the four nobles and Tsubaki-san and Testuya, wished deep within themselves for the brave heroes to return home to them as they began to say the prayer for the spell activation.

On the island, the group hand began holding hands and increasing their magical energy to draw the dragons to their direction. The dragons and wyverns where drawn to they were and they began to feel the magical power of the island itself and the power of the Island Core. With a single wish they all released their magical power, to be able to protect the place where they would return to and to protect their new friends.

And in a blinding flash, a golden shock wave of light spread form their island and killed the dragons and wyverns, the golden light spread throughout the entire Aerial Isles and those there saw something they had never seen before. A radiant light which showered on all them. The four nobles, Tsubaki-san and Tetsuya soon rushed to the port in hopes of seeing who they were waiting for to see the island they had departed to destroyed and nothing there but open skies. Tears poured down from their eyes but they felt a single will, the will to move forward for the friends whom they had lost.
