Chapter 2, So that I can go to where you are

I learnt that the village I was in was called Hestia Town, blessed by the Guardian Hestia. That means we're in the Western Continent, I'm pretty far from home and Haruki. This is under the flag of White Sanctuary, it's small but stable enough.

"Now then, about how you got here." The chief, an old woman who is small and well advanced in her years, dressed in a black robe spoke. "Several days ago, you were found in the outskirts of our village after an massive storm. Do you know who you are and where you came from?"

"Yes. I'm Haruka, I'm from the Northern Continent, the Crystal Empire." I answered her.

"I see, you have been washed far from your home indeed." She said. "Rest here for now, when you have gained enough strength we will help you so that you can go back home."

"May I go outside?" I asked and she nodded.

I got up of my bed and she guided me to the door where the lady from earlier was.

"Thank you for taking care of me." I said.

"No, don't worry about it." She answered. "I'm Aishea, nice to meet you."

"Nice to meet you too, Aishea, I'm Haruka." I introduced myself.

We went outside and I could see a mountain range in the distance and encroaching the village was a forest, serving as the protection of the village was a fence that stretched around itself.

"Oh? Glad you woke up boy." I heard a voice say and I turned my head to see a middle-aged man, with brown hair and brown skin, wearing a white shirt and pants carrying an axe. "You had us worried when you fainted outside our village."

"I'm Eugen, nice to meet ya." His voice was masculine and deep.

"Nice to meet you, Eugen-san." I answered him. "My name is Haruka. Thank you for helping me."

"Don't worry about it." He answered and just then we heard some men shouting. "Oi! What's with all the shouting?!"

"Eugen, monsters, a whole swarm of giant ants are headed for the village." A voice answered.

"Giant Ant?" I turned to the chief.

"A species of monster ants that often come out this year, but they rarely arrive here at our village." Chief answered.

"Get all the tools you can find and anyone capable of fighting. We're going to fend them off as best we can." Eugen said and I turned to the sky to see them, red ants with wings and about the size of a person.

"They're already here." Aishea-san shrieked.

"How do you kill them?" I asked the chief.

"You'd have to burn them or crush their skulls, their bodies are to hard to pierced by normal tools." Eugen-san said. Fire, I can probably still use Fire Magic.

"Flames, burn and become my blade, by my will, charge, Fire Sword." I chanted the easiest Fire Aspect Magic I knew and the flames that were shaped like two bladed swords pierced the monsters in one go.

"Kid, you can use magic?" Eugen-san asked.

"Yes. Isn't that normal?" I asked him.

"Well, here in our nation, magic users are pretty rare." The chief said. "I've lived a long life but this is the first time I've met a magic user."

"They're pretty common back home." I answered. "Not everyone but atleast half the population back home can use it." I answered.

"Which nation are you from exactly?" Eugen-san asked.

"I'm from the Heroes Nation; Tsuki but I've been living in the Crystal Empire for a bit." I answered, though I'm actually just saying that since I've spent my whole life in a crystal.

"What other aspects can you use?" Aishea-san asked.

"I can't really be sure but if I'm not mistaken all of it except summoning and temporal magic." I answered.

I can use all aspects of magic except for the two, Haruki is the one with that aspect. Haru can use Divinity if I'm not mistaken.

"Well, why not rest up for a bit?" Eugen-san asked. "You've got to rest up so you can get your energy back up."

"Thank you but I'll be fine as long as I can bathe in the sunlight and since the air is so fresh here I shoild be back to full power in a few hours or so." I said as I basked in the sunlight.

Just as Haruki can go on for days without sleep or rest, I can go on for weeks without food just by bathing in the sunlight, moonlight and fresh air.

"Well, jusf be sure to take it easy." Eugen-san said.

"I'll try." I answered and sat down underneath a tree.

I wonder how Haruki and the everyone else is doing? Right about now, Aria and the others should be searching for ways to help Haruki. The Familiars, especially Leo will have found a way to help him. They're probably sending out scouts to look for me too.

I need to find a way to get the attention of anyone who has a higher status, make a name for myself, if somehow word reaches the Northern Continent that shoild catch their attention. I'll do whatever I have to do so I can go to where Haruki is.

"Hey, what are you doing under there?" A voice asked so I opened my eyes to see a young man my age, dressed in a white shirt with black pants and boots ask, he had short white hair and violet eyes with brown skin.

"I'm not doing anything." I answered him.

"Oh, I'm Sion, nice to meet you." He said offering me a hand.

"I'm Haruka, nice to meet you too." I smiled.

"Haruka, what a strange name." A girl with violet hair, white skin and blue eyes said. She was dressed in a white blouse, a blue skirt and knee high socks with boots. "I'm Misa, nice to meet you."

"Nice to meet you too. And my name comes from my homeland, it means gentle spring." I answered her.

"What a beautiful name." Another girl, with crimson hair and deep red eyes with white skin said, she was dressed in a black frilly maid-like dress she was carrying a parasol that seemed to shield her from the sun. "Ah, my name is Veronica."

"Nice to meet you, Veronica-san." I greeted her and noticed her deep crimson eyes yet her fangs weren't as sharp as Haruki's. "Veronica-san, your a dhampir aren't you?"

"My goodness, how did you know?" She asked with a surprised expression.

"You just seemed like one but if you're a dhampir why bother with the parasol?" I asked her.

"Ahahaha, it's just something to protect my skin." She giggled.

"Wouldn't the sunscreen be more efficient?" I asked her.

"Ah, they don't sell that here." She sighed sadly.

"Just a moment." I said, lets see if I can use the Item Storage Haruki uses. Yup, looks like I can.

I created the small magical circle and pulled out the cream Haruki uses. Being a pure-blood Vampire, he has tons of this stuff set aside sometimes. Especially during extremely hot days.

"Here." I handed her a bottle.

"This is... the sunscrean?! Can I?" She asked with sparkly eyes.

"Yes." I answered her. "We have quite a lot but we don't usually use it much."

Haruki doesn't really need it since he can just alter the structure of his body to change it from a vampire to something else.

"Thank you!!" She exclaimed and immediately rubbed a bit on her skin and stored the bottle in her bag.

"Can I ask you a question?" I asked them.

"Go on." Jason-san asked.

"What is the closest town with a guild here?" I asked.

"There aren't really any guilds here." Misa-san answered me.

"What is the closest thing to a guild here?" I asked.

"Probably the Hunter Organization." Jason-san answered. "If you want to join you'd better not, it's a dangerous job."

"Danger runs in my family blood." I smirked. "Besides, I have somewhere I have to go, someone I have to save and a promise I must keep. For that, I'll do anything."

"Then, meet us here in a few days, we'll help you get to the town with a hunter building." Misa-san said and I thanked them.

I returned to the village and talked to the chief about what is the closest town from here and she said it would have to be Hermes Town, the town of traders and travellers. Perfect.

"Oh? You're planning to go there?" Eugen-san asked.

"Yes." I answered. "I have to get hone to my brother no matter what."

"Well, until then, why don't you stay in our village?" Aishea-san asked.

"No, I can't possibly cause you anymore trouble." I told them.

"No, don't worry about it. It's our job to help others in need." The chief, Priscilla-san said.

"Thank you." I thanked the them.

I'm going to where you are Haruki, so wait a little longer for me. I'll do everything I can, so that I can go to where you are.
