“You mean to tell me that all of the rare colored wolves are together and have determined one wolf to be the alpha of everyone?” I couldn’t determine if what the gray wolf was saying is the truth or not, his words sounded like a lie but his expression showed an uncomforting amount of confidence.

“I’m not sure why that was your first question, but yes, there is only one alpha.” He nodded.

“Why wouldn’t that be his first question?” Alex asked a bit defensively.

“I’m talking to you.” he looked at us like that was a major hint and that the answer was obvious.

I shook my head, not understanding what he was hinting at, he sighed.

“I’m talking to you but I haven't shifted.” he looked at his body, my eyes followed, and saw that he wasn’t lying, he hadn’t moved but he was talking to us.

“Is this the power of the rare ones?” I asked.

“No, not all of us, just the ranked gray ones.”
