CHAPTER 23

　　"Tomorrow we are seeing the doctor." Jack confirms holding his daughter to his chest."? It has been a month since the incident passed but Alexa wasn't able to move out of the place. The torture of Catherine became a hundred fold as though she was taking a revenge on Alexa for leaving the place. She forced the complete household work on her. Alexa had to cook food for the complete family, scrub bathrooms and do the house maid's duties too. She once again became an unpaid full time servant in the house.

　　The abuse of Melisa harrowed her like a never ending rain. She would yell at her for no reason and keep her engaged with work till late in the night but thankfully Marcus wasn't seen in the house since the time Alexa came back. He visited the residence only during the night to sleep and often came completely drunk but this time Jack was more cautious and insisted on Alexa to sleep only in his room. She wasn't allowed to leave the room during the night without his permission.
