4 Chapter 4: System

As the first rays of sunlight peeked over the horizon, signaling the start of another new day.

A family of four gathered at a grand round table in the Palace Gardens.

The table was a masterpiece of intricate white carvings, each detail handcrafted with precision.

Surrounding the table were vibrant and fragrant flowers in full bloom, adding a burst of color to the otherwise pristine space.

In the center stood a majestic water fountain, its crystal-clear water cascading down in a soothing melody that filled the air.

The family sat in awe of their surroundings, basking in the gentle morning breeze and serenaded by the cheerful chirping of birds.

Rays of warm sunlight danced through the leaves and cast a golden glow on their faces, creating a tranquil atmosphere that seemed to suspend time itself.

It was as if they had been transported to a peaceful oasis, offering them a brief respite from their busy lives.

Moments later...

"Calia, darling, please stop pestering your little brother," Queen Lianna's gentle reprimand did little to dissuade her mischievous 2-year-old daughter.

With a snort and an impish grin directed at her mother, Calia continued to adorn her brother's face with delicate daisies.

Arthas, the victim of this playful prank, chose to ignore it and instead focused on the information he had gathered since arriving in this new world.

He has been investigating his system, how each of it's features worked and what he discovered from it shocked him greatly.

The system can do three things:

1. Status: Provides detailed information of the selected target, allowing the user to determine the target's background and capabilities. Only visible to the user.

2. Quest: Provides real time corresponding missions with rewards without consequences, how it ends is up to the user's discretion. If the mission fails, nothing negative directly happens to the user.

3. Build: Provides the user the ability to build structures for a price, that can train units, along with offering magical items for purchase. Can only train the human race.

Arthas figures out that this system is a nerfed version of the Warcraft III's game system.

Even though it's unfortunate that he can only summon the human faction, everything else is the same.

He doesn't mind it at all, it's actually quite the opposite.

The power and potential this system alone holds can help make him become a very powerful figure in the future.

Combined with his experience in the strategic game of Warcraft III, he knows how to utilize it to it's utmost potential.

It's only a matter of time before he can make use of his newfound abilities.

Being a newborn, he is forced to remain helpless until he is able to walk on two legs.

He turned his attention back to his surroundings, taking in the beauty and peace of the Palace Gardens.

Watching his family, he couldn't help but feel grateful for the opportunity to start fresh.

He made a silent promise to himself to use his new abilities to protect and provide for his loved ones.

...

In the afternoon.

Arthas is back in his room, this time alone giving him the opportunity to not be bothered as he recounts future events.

Four years from now, Sargeras launches another attack on Azeroth, using orcs from the world of Draenor as his pawns.

Medivh under Sargeras's control, opened the Dark Portal to Outland, allowing the Horde to come through the magical gateway which links to Azeroth.

The humans from the Kingdom of Stormwind, did not know from whence these foul creatures came, and none were prepared for the terror that they spawned.

Eventually they fought, and this was known as the First War.

Three-to-five years after since the Dark Portal opened, the Kingdom of Stormwind faced devastating losses.

King Llane sent messengers to the other human kingdoms alerting them of the presence of enigmatic and terrifying green-skinned invaders.

However, since the reports were not taken seriously, no assistance was given.

The nation thought most likely to assist was Lordaeron.

But Lordaeron could only wish King Llane luck with his woes as Deathwing, posing as a visiting Stormwind noble.

Openly mocked King Llane and asserted that the threat was in fact a rebellion of disgruntled residents.

Causing the Kingdom of Lordaeron to only politely wish King Llane luck with his troubles.

In the past, Stormwind had prided itself on standing alone and developed a policy of isolationism in recent decades.

Which many other nations saw as arrogant and likely influenced their passiveness.

Unable to withstand the might of the orcish Horde, King Llane Wrynn is assassinated, and the capital Stormwind City, is razed.

After the fall of Stormwind, the new Warchief Orgrim Doomhammer set out to conquer the rest of Azeroth so that the orcs would have a new homeworld of their own.

He was responsible for instigating a renewed campaign to seize control of the other lands to the north, certain that the human kingdoms would avenge themselves if the orcs didn't strike first.

The survivors, including young Prince Varian Wrynn and Sir Anduin Lothar, flee north to the kingdom of Lordaeron.

Lothar met with King Terenas and warned him of the invasion to come.

A meeting with the leaders of the other human nations was called and led to the formation of the Alliance of Lordaeron.

Which would eventually grow to encompass almost all of the Eastern Kingdoms' major races, with Lothar as Supreme Allied Commander.

This marked the beginning of another great war, the Second War, a major conflict that took place in the Eastern Kingdoms.

Between the armies of the Orcish Horde and an Alliance of humans and several other races.

In the face of these future events, Arthas was not concerned in the slightest.

Because as far as he knows about his future, nothing major happens besides key events not directly related to him until he reaches the age of 24.

That's when troubles began to stir in Lordaeron.

A distressing news of a plague that had gripped the northlands.

But that's 24 years from now, Arthas knows that by that time, he would already have become powerful enough to deal with any adversary.

As well as cultivated a powerful force for himself, with the aid of his system.

So for the time being, until he becomes grown and strong enough to start putting his future plans into action.

He'll make connections with people he knows will help him in the long run, as well as spend a lovely time bonding with his family.
