Stupid lizard

This monster didn't have anyone to command, it meant that it didn't need any it was strong enough on its own.

I started to sprint towards it. It lowered its head ready to dodge me again. I didn't let it do how it wanted. I started to cast magic with my other hand. I shot three lightning spears at the monster. It jumped up and I followed. I was too close to be hit with a tail, so it tried to bite me. I dodged by kicking air and slashed it with my sword. I hit its side. Even if it were a shallow hit, it would still hurt because of the lightning.

We both landed down on our feet, lizard didn't have a proud face on anymore. It looked angry and started to run towards me. I got to my stance but didn't want to just wait for its attack. I again launched lightning spears, but it just jumped to the side and continued.

This time I waited for it to arrive. It wasn't extremely fast but could still outrun A ranked adventurers. For me it was slow. It tried to bite me, I simply jumped up and landed on its head. I started to slash its head as fast as I could.

It tried to get me off by shaking its head but with mana boosted feet I didn't budge. The it tried to hit me with its tail but it wasn't long enough to reach me sideways. So it tried to hit me from up, that's when I dodged and it hit itself

What a stupid lizard.

It looked even more angry I smirked, that's when it snapped. Red ranked monsters are a little bit intelligent and can think but this one lost all rationality. It started to run towards me but I simply casted more lightning spears. I knew it would dodge so I launched six. It did not expect that and got hit on both of its feet.

It lost balance and fell. It slides in front of me. I got to its neck and killed it. If it stayed calm the fight would have lasted longer but now it died earlier of course I would have killed it anyway but now just faster. This time the monster had something that I could use.

I took its longest teeth and a couple smaller ones. I put its eyes and some skin in my backpack. Rest of the corpse I hid in an empty cave, closed the entrance and marked it on the map. I also wanted rest of its materials but couldn't carry them now. So I hid them and would come back later.

Now I didn't need any reasons to be in this forest anymore so I ran max speed towards the town.

GUARD POV:

It was late noon; my shift was ending in an hour, it was very busy, there was a lot of movement in the city now. After all a 1vs1 tournament was happening soon and many guild leaders came to watch it. I didn't care about that; I was waiting to get home to my wife.

-Hey

I looked down ready to scold the rude kid but when I looked at his eyes I almost jumped on air. There was a kid like 12 years old, they had a thin jacket and a big hood so I could only see his eyes but the most disturbing thing was, that he was covered in blood.

-How much for entrance.

I didn't expect that queston but the kid seemed dangerous so I answered.

-Uhm is it your first time?

I wanted to go away, something about this kid told me that I shouldn't do anything with him. He nodded for my question, and I sighed in relief.

-It's free then.

He looked surprised, nodded and walked past me. I then noticed the huge tooth in his backpack and was relieved that they were not angry. I could faintly see how strong one was and this kid was extremely dangerous. Luckily no newbie were on my shift today Otherwise there would have been bodies.

AYDEN POV:

For some reason, the guard was nervous. I have no idea why tho? I'm just a small innocent child. I started to walk towards the guild but then remembered that I had no idea where the guild was.

-Hey

The guard almost jumped in the air and turned his head slowly.

-Wha...What

-Where is the adventurers' guild.

-Oh just walk straight and you will see it.

I nodded and continued to walk. I swear the guard sighed in relief when I left, does he have a problem with kids?

I came to the guild fast. It was already late so the streets were silent, meaning that I could just walk straight and no one was blocking me. I walked inside and in there was a young woman with rapid ears. I walked towards her and she also looked scared and nervous, even more than the guard.

Sir? I didn't look that old, did I?

The girl gulped and gave me a sheet.

It was a paper that asked for basic information like age, name, where I came from and what class I would like to be.

I took the paper and a pen from the table, when I reached for it she screamed a little bit. I raised my eyebrow asking what was going on. She looked embarrassed and just told me it's nothing.

I continued to fill the paper. I actually didn't have a last name. Mom told me that if someone asks I just tell them I didn't have one. It meant that I was a commoner. And for class or what I wanted to be I put mage swordsman.

I gave her the paper back, she looked at it and asked.

-Don't lie about your age sir.

-I didn't?

She looked at me suspiciously. I put my hood down so she could see my face. She looked surprised and then embarrassed, probably because she had been calling a 13-year old: sir.

She then slapped her face which took me by surprise.

-Your license will be coming in 3 days; would you want anything else?

-When can I go to a rank up exam.

She was even more surprised than before.

-They should be next week but probably cancelled because of the tournament.

If surprise had a face, the face she was making was it.

-The once in a year 1 vs 1 tournament between people from rank F-D, they fight together and top 3 get prices. They have not been announced yet but I heard that they will be as amazing as before.

-When is it?

-In 2 days.

My plans changed, I needed some money and with a tournament it would be easy.

-Okay then I just want to sell these.

I tilted my head in confusion, it was just red rank.

-HOW COULD YOU BEAT IT WITHOUT MAGIC???

I was even confused, after all I wrote it on the paper, did she not see it?

I showed her lightning coming from my fingers. Then I realized that normal age for getting a core was 15-16 and I was just thirteen. After realizing that, I looked over at her and she was making a face that shouldn't be physically possible. She should consider being an actor.

She gave me a bag with ten gold coins, but I didn't care about that, I just thought how rude she was. When leaving I said goodbye to her.
