Quest

I woke up and sun was already up. I could hear people yelling, talking, and walking on the streets under my window. I got up and gathered some mana and filled my core, it didn't get very empty yesterday, but I didn't want it to be too empty.

I opened my realm and checked on the people, they were fine and doing their own thing. I closed my realm magic and nodded in satisfaction. I didn't have any great plans for today, then I remembered the corpse I got yesterday and knew what to do.

I however heard something weird coming from my stomach.

*Growl

I got slightly red. I put on the same outfit as yesterday and left other clothes to my room. I still had some water but no food. So, I left my room and went downstairs. I was leaving the inn to find something to eat but then smelled something delicious. I turned my head and noticed that this inn wasn't only for rooms they also had a restaurant.

I walked in and sat to a table. I didn't have to wait longer than two minutes when a woman came.

-Here is our menu, what would you like to?

I looked at the menu and it had menu different kind of foods that I hadn't heard of before. There were mostly soups.

-I'll have pumpkin soup with soft bread and water.

Woman nodded, took my menu, and walked to something that looked like a kitchen. After only five minutes she came back with a tray. There was a big bowl of soup some bread with butter and a glass of water. I thanked the woman and tasted some.

And I was delicious I ate it like in only two minutes and after I had eaten it all, I still felt a little hungry. After all, for the last three day, I've only eaten jerky. I was getting money ready to pay but then the woman handed me another tray.

I looked at her in surprise and told me.

-First one is one the house.

And winked at me, I stared after her for a couple of seconds and then digged in and ate this one a little bit slower. After that I wasn't hungry anymore. I put the money on my tray and left, destination was adventurers' guild.

After entering I looked for the bunny girl and quickly noticed her. I walked over.

-Hey

-Hmm?

She looked at me and looked a little bit terrified.

-I want to publish a quest.

-Mhm, what kind of quest?

-Party or adventurer with a space magic or someone with a large space ring and an animal or monster that runs as fast as a red monster.

She wrote something down and then asked.

-What will the party or adventurer be doing?

-Storing and transportation, protection work not needed.

She nodded and then let me look at a paper, it had everything I had said. I nodded confirming that everything was right.

-What will the reward be?

-5 gold coins.

I thought that it was a reasonable price. After all a red ranked monster is not easy to have. Only if it's a speed type monster but those were rare. Space magic wasn't quite rare but not many people that use it are adventurers, most are merchants. Rings were also very expensive.

The bunny nodded and went to put the quest on the wall. I thanked her and went to sit behind a nearby table and train my magic.

I had to wait over an hour, during that time I mostly trained my core but a party of adults came in. One was a big and muscular guy, there were two women one with a bow and one with a staff. Then there were two other guys, one was small and thin and the other one was a little bit less muscular and shorter than the first one.

They were laughing and then went to the wall. The smaller guy looked at a paper and showed it to the magician. They were discussing about it and then showed it to the others.

They nodded and went around another table. But the small guy and the magician girl went to the counter. They discussed with her and then the bunny pointed at me. After that they looked at each other and walked to me.

-Yes

-When do you want to do this.

-Now

-Alright, let's go.

I got up and followed the guy. We got behind the guild and there was a bird looking monster like an ostrich. The guy walked up to it, tapped it.

-Hop on.

I nodded and jumped on it. And they followed. Guy was in front of me, and the girl was behind me. We took off and the monster ran. It was as fast as me with lightning charged in my feet, I hadn't tried that after leaving home because it breaks my shoes and pants.

-What is your name?

-Ayden

-Where do you come from?

-The forest.

-I'm Sophia and 19 years old.

-Okay

Sophia was green haired girl, around 170cm tall and had brown eyes. She had a black robe and a white shirt and black jeans under it. She didn't luckily wear a wizard hat but had a long staff with her.

-I'm Mark

Mark was about 160cm tall and a red head. He didn't have a beard and had trousers and a t shirt on. And a small knife, no other weapons.

-What are you getting from the forest?

-Something I left there yesterday.

I didn't want to tell that it was a red ranked monster's corpse.

-Our party is already C tier, but today we wanted to do more relaxing quests, so we took this.

I nodded is response.

-Okay we are out of the city, where are we going.

-To the forest.

-Kid, remember that we are not fighting because you only asked for transportation.

-I know.

-Good

We headed towards the forest. And after entering there were some goblins coming in front of us.

-Slow down.

Mark nodded and the Ostrich stopped.

I hopped down and took my sword.

-Just yell if you need any help

Sophia was worried about me; well, I was just a 13-year-old kid.

I didn't respond, just channeled some mana to my feet, took my sword and first parts stance. I ran towards the goblin and was in front of their face in less than a second. I beheaded all of them in another second and got back in a third one.

I hopped back.

-Let's go

Mark looked a little bit scared, and Sophia was also surprised. And we continued no more goblins were showing after the ones that I had killed. And with the speed of this monster we almost reached the place.

But the Ostrich stopped.

-Go, go

-Doesn't matter, it's not far away, Sophia could you follow me.

-Yes

We both jumped down and I went towards the cave. After we were in front of it.

-Are we there yet?

-We are there now

-But there is just some rock.

I got lightning on my hands and destroyed the rock covering the cave.

*Cough

-What was tha

Sophia stared at the corpse inside the cave. And almost dropped her staff.

-What are you waiting, store it.

-Ahh yes.

She pointed her finger at the corpse and a second later it disappeared. I was satisfied.

-Let's go.

She quickly followed behind me. And we went to where Mark was.

After that the return journey went well and when we got to the guild, we went to the bunny where I had to sign my name on a paper confirming the quest completed.

I then turned to bunny.

-What's your name?

-Clare

-Okay, Clare I want to sell a corpse

-Okay, can you put it on the table

-No, it's too big

-Then put it on the floor

-Are you sure

-Yes

-Okay

I glanced at Sophia who nodded and pointed her ring at the empty spot behind me and then a Pakshin lizard suddenly appeared. The shock on Clare's face was like yesterday, not like the definition or actor one but the more normal one. She then suddenly said.

-Okay, okay bring it here.

Sophia put the monster back in her ring and followed me and Clare, Mark had already left to join the rest of their party.

We got to the backroom and dropped the corpse there. Clare quickly looked at it, noticed it's severely damaged skin, missing teeth and eyes.

-I can give you twenty gold for this.

-Okay

It was understandable, after all its teeth and eyes were the most important part. You can't do much with its skin or other parts, so this was fine.

I got the money pouch and left with Sophia while Clare was still looking at the corpse. When we walked back to the lobby, I handed the five gold coins to Sophia and she went back to her party. While I was leaving however, suddenly two big guys blocked my way.

-So you're the one that got the money huh?

-So what?

-You know that you need to pay a little tax for us right?

They were laughing with other people sitting down and other adventurers were looking down and angry at the same time.

-What, if I don't want to?

-Then we have to take it by force.

-What is the rule for self-defense in this town?

-Huh, if you feel threatened, you can punish them like you want.

-Well doesn't that sound perfect.
