AYDEN POV:

That was a weird dream about my past life, I don't remember talking to those guys ever, so why did I see them. It only reminded me of my dark past. Time, when I was swallowed my revenge and didn't want to forgive anyone.

Luckily, I came to my senses and realized what I had done, harm was already done and I only escaped what I had done. I started a new life, never confronting what I had done.

While deep in my thoughts, I realized the situation I was in. I was out in the open, nothing was separating me and the monsters outside, so how were I even alive.

While thinking about it, I thought of something.

"Sophia!"

I used the mark on my hand to check her location, but it didn't give any signals? It was still there, so she should be alive. What if the guild took her? Deep anger started to rise in me. Those greedy bastards, how dare they?

Right when my mind was close, brain was foaming. I almost went on another rampage, but then I felt something on my head. I tapped it and felt it. It was Sophia's scales. I tapped a little bit more to check, what kind of position in and now knew, that she was in a pile. I picked her up with two hands and started to stroke her head.

She looked smaller than usual. I realized, that she hadn't been fed in the whole time, after me getting home. I quickly gathered some mana and infused her with her.

She instantly started moving, which relieved me. She opened her eyes, which were closed and turned her head from side to side looking for me. She then saw me, narrowed her eyes, and dashed towards me. I had my hands ready to receive her, but she had other ideas.

She bit me straight on the nose. Now I shook my head, from side to side, trying to get her off. She had just woken up, so I didn't want to be too harsh on her, but when it started to hurt, I grabbed her and took her off.

"Sophia what are you doing?"

[Stupid master]

"Haaah? What do you mean?"

"Wait.... Did you just speak?"

[Not telling.]

"You can speak?"

She glared at me and turned her back on me.

"Sophia..."

*Slap

She hit my cheek with her tail. It hurt, like a belt. If my body had not been reinforced, I would be lying on the ground, rolling on the ground.

"What was that for?!"

She glanced at me, and I swear, that I heard her saying 'humph'. She then slithered on my shoulder, but didn't look at me at all.

"Are you mad?" She stayed silent and didn't respond to my question.

"You can't be silent for ever."

She again, didn't respond. I wondered about what to do to her. However, I realized about what I had done. I had slaughtered hundreds of orcs. They were monsters in deed, but some had done nothing wrong to humans.

And I had burned, sliced or exploded them to the underworld. Again, my rampage has ended up killing innocent people. Why do I do this? I don't enjoy killing, what in my mind, makes me want to kill, get revenge?

I broke down, tears started to flow from my eyes, and I fell on my knees. I put my hands over my eyes, crying about what I had done.

"WHYYYYYYY? WHAT DID I DO WRONG, WHY AM I CURSED LIKE THIS??"

I screamed to the people, that had created me, who had made me like this. Once I get a person, whose important to me. I can't forgive my self, or anyone else, when they pass away.

I let hell lose, and at the end, slaughter innocent people without even realizing it.

While I was crying and screaming on my knees, I started to hear something.

[It's okay...]

[Don't be sad...]

[You're important to us...]

What were they, there were hundreds and they were filling my mind. I had experienced something like this before. When the villagers were getting killed.

I feared for the worst, ignoring the tone and saying of the words and opened my realm. I instantly went to the ground and started looking for people, but something was weird. No one was outside.

Something was going through me. I looked closer at the ground and noticed the amount of pounds on the ground. I looked up and saw all the rain clouds on the sky.

They were all raining and sky was darker than ever. I didn't find a reason, why in this freezing village was not raining and it wasn't even snow, but rain.

I decided to leave it later and checked inside one village house. It was a family of four, a happily married couple and two daughters. They were doing something, that I had never seen done like this.

They all, all four were on their knees, praying. Their hands were crossed, but with their fingers open. The prayer, that I had chosen from a long time ago and all of them were doing it.

Something then clicked inside of me, I started to fly, going though every house and all were the same. They were all praying on their knees. I started to pay more attention to what were they saying.

And almost started crying again, they were all comforting me. The rain also made sense now, it was because of my mind. When I first arrived, it was very dark, but over time the sun started to shine more brightly but now, it was raining, a lot.

This moved me emotionally, so much. All the people were comforting me, all these thousands of people stopped everything, that they were doing. To make ME feel better. I also listened to the voices more carefully.

They were not like before. Last time, they were making me go insane. They were full of pain and terror, like someone was screaming inside my head and trying to destroy it from the inside.

However, now they were like a happy song. Like a mother was singing to her son before going to sleep. It was full of warmth and comforting feelings.

It made me close my eyes, and lay down on a grass field.

The rain clouds started to move and showed a sun, a bright sun shining. I didn't even notice it, but when the voices stopped and I looked at what had happened, I saw everyone celebrating and jumping happily.

Some started to pray again and thank me for my kindness. It made me even happier and I then decided to get back into the real world.

When I returned, I saw Sophia laying on my stomach.

[Are you okay?]

"Yeah, why?"

[You suddenly collapsed on the ground and I got worried.]

So that's how it looks like to other people. Well, it's better than turning invisible or disappear completely, but I should be careful doing this in a place with other people.

Before this, I've only done it in bed, so other people have only seen me, like I had fallen asleep.

I put my hand or Sophia's head and patted her.

"Are you not mad with me anymore?"

[Yes, I am] Sad.

"What would I need to do, to make you like me again."

[You need to feed me something good and not do that again.]

"What?"

[You cannot turn mad and not listen to anyone again.]

So I was like that, Sophia must have been sad, surprised and panicked a little bit.

"I promise"

[Now you only need to feed me something delicious.]

"I will, when we get back" Sophia responded to my suggestion, but she fell asleep right after.

However, I couldn't return immediately and had to do something first.

(*(

After a while, there was now a memorial stone in front of the orc village, saying what had happened to them, and what would have been better for them.

In front of the stone, I on my knees asked them to forgive me, and how I had done something so wrong. I stayed like that, I don't know why. Probably waiting for some kind of response, but after a while I got up and headed towards Montka.

I didn't want to return home. It was too full of memories of mom and I didn't want to remember such sad things right now.

Sophia had also woken up now, and was almost begging me to leave and get her some food. Maybe beasts don't feel anything for the dead? I mean, even when she was a baby, she didn't feel anything for her mom.

Maybe beasts just accept it faster than humans, because they do have feeling, that's something I know. I picked up mu backpack, Sophia climbed on my neck and shoulders and I took off.

The return was a lot faster than when I went there. I left as fast as I could, I didn't want to feel the wind or smell the flowers that were on the side of the road. I didn't want to remember anything so that reminded me of mom.

Even if I had accepted her death, I didn't want to remember this painful memory. I only wanted to remember the good things about my mom. Not the time, that I killed innocent people because of my sorrow.

I soon got out of the forest, stopped and said good bye to it. I would not return to this forest, this city or my home for a long time. I would only return when I was comfortable remembering my now dead mom. That would take a long time, but I was ready for that.

I bowed said bye and took off again.
