Another interesting person

The bells woke me up, like every other day. I didn't have any classes before lunch today, but I wanted to go to the library and try to find more books, that I could read. The book about lightning monsters wasn't very long, it only had the basic information, like where do they appear and what skills they use. It gave me some ideas. I didn't want to practice them yet, without any modeling or my own theories.

Ben still stayed in our room; he didn't have any classes before lunch. I grabbed my sword with me for the fighting class because I didn't know if there were any swords for practice.

The library was as empty as yesterday. Maybe it only seemed empty because it was so big. No, it was just empty. Maybe people believe that because of their classes, they don't need to read any extra books. Or maybe because of those studies, they don't have any time to read. Well, it's just easier for me.

I did the same as yesterday, typed lightning to the search bar and scrolled through many hundreds of books. However, I couldn't find anything interesting at the moment. I didn't want to just sit here and waste time. I would come back after I had either heard about a better book to read, or when I am too bored to do anything else.

I walked outside of the library after returning the book from yesterday. I had memorized all the important things from it and I now wanted to test them out. I searched for something like a training ground but there wasn't something like that on the map or nothing for students at least.

I tried to look for any teachers or seniors to ask from but I couldn't find anyone. Everyone were in class or still sleeping, I guess. I sat down to a nearby bench.

The school was way too big. The windows were at least three meters tall and a meter wide. The school looked like an ancient castle with walls made from stone but there were some more modern parts. The library for an example was made from fine tree and the interior was made to look as a village in forest.

They had put benches every ten meters for people to sit in, they looked like normal benches from parks and weren't very comfortable either. I didn't know what to do, but then I got an idea. I opened my realm magic.

I hadn't opened it after coming to school and after realizing that, I became worried. It now took only a couple of seconds to enter my realm view, if I was sitting or lying calmly. I checked the buildings and everything seemed to be fine.

My realm had advanced greatly. This was their 20th generation already. They had taken over the whole lake, the nearby forest and their nearby mountain.

They had to forces that made decisions, the church of hope and the parliament. The church was a faith for me, when a child was born, they would bless the baby in a light of the sun. They had nuns and popes and it was the most beautiful building in the whole village. The sun had begun to shine more often than before, which was never.

The parliament was formed by mayor and job leaders, like the knight captain, head farmer, head builder etc.

They were friendly with each other and had no inside drama with them. Even beasts had stopped bothering them after their numbers grew big enough. They know had about 10 000 members. They do not do incest; people came from outside the mountain.

There were children running on the streets, animals from the wild helping the people, building new houses, fishing food, farming in a shelter for cold farmed food. It made me feel proud, like a dad of his child managing to do their work on their own.

I closed the realm. My strength that I got from the magic was not much, because they had not accomplished anything great after the disease four years ago. I was still super strong so it didn't matter much and who would bully their child so it could grow?

I had again run out of ideas to do. I guess, that scrolling the library menu is the only choice remaining. I got up from the bench, that had just started to feel comfortable and started walking towards the library.

When I arrived, I was surprised to see someone else there. They looked older than me but were covering their face and body with robes. I walked up to them and tapped their shoulder. I hope that it's a teacher or senior, who could help me find more suitable books.

-excuse me...

The person turned around and it was a rather old looking person. Even the principal seemed to be in his thirties but this guy had grey hair, a long beard like Santa Claus. He was also super tall, around 190cm.

-What would you like, little boy.

I still don't know why people call me brat or little, I don't have any mark on my face that says, "I am little"? I decided to let it go, if he helps me.

-I try to find books to develop my skills of handling lightning, could you help?

-Hmm, what kind of books did you read before.

-I've only read basic magic theory books and yesterday I read one about lightning monsters.

-Why?

-To use magic like them.

-Mhm....Do you have a master?

-Yes

-What do they teach you?

-I can't tell you that

Even if master wanted me to come here and make her famous like that, I didn't want to tell it to a random person in the library. The other things that I told him were not serious.

-What's their name?

-Ava Kashi

This was something that I could tell, she was after all not that famous and

-THAT OLD HAG

I was flabbergasted. Did he know her? Like actually know some no name mage?

-Do you know her?

-Do I know her? She's, my rival!

I was shocked about that. She had a rival? She didn't mention it even once.

-I can't believe that she got such a good student.

He then seemed to have realized something.

-Why did she send you here.

If he really was just a rival and not arch nemesis then I guess that it could be fine to tell.

-To make her famous.

-So, she sent you here just to flex her student.

His hands seemed to be tearing off his face.

-How dare that old hag do something like that to me?!

-Why do you call her an old hag? She seemed incredibly young.

-Oh.

He then suddenly got a smirk on his face.

-She uses an artifact that makes her seem like a 15 year old, but she's really over 70.

I have to admit that it surprised me. I knew that she wasn't as old as she seemed to be, but I couldn't guess that she would be this old. Will I tell her about this or not?

-So, you wanted to improve your lightning magic skills?

-Yes

-Then, I would recommend a book called path of thunderbolt, I'm sure that you will learn a lot from it.

-Thank you.

After thanking the old man, he left without another word and without any books. I wonder why he even came here? I walked up to the hologram and searched for the book that old man recommended.

After getting it, I noticed it being old. I could see the dark purple color of the book, but after opening it I wanted to punch someone. The pages were full of wrinkles and stains from liquids like coffee and wine. It would be terribly difficult to read this but I could do it.

I then read the book before lunch, during lunch and after lunch. It was nice to have free time and the book was actually interesting, or at least for me.

The book was about tales of different lightning users. Most of them actually used it like, as swordsmen boosting their strength and speed but there were also some more unique ones. Someone used it to make something like a lightning net and detain their opponent.

It worked for amateur opponents but not for people with more experience. It was still a unique idea and made me think, if I could also have one. Then I realized something, none of the people in this book, used my trump card. So maybe I already had one?

When I was thinking about that, I looked at the time and it was already time for the fighting class. I grabbed my sword and got up from the bench that I had sit down on after lunch. The class was near but because I left a little bit late, I was there third. After some familiar looking girl and Percy.

I greeted Percy and we started talking about how our day went yesterday after lunch and this morning. I told him just how boring it had been and that I've only been reading books.

Percy's day wasn't any different. He had class this morning and it was like my artifact and alchemy classes yesterday. We talked about other stuff until the teacher arrived and to my horror it was Alice.

I whispered to Percy next to me.

-Don't tell her that I'm an adventurer.

-Why?

-Just don't.

-Okay

He seemed to have understood, I hope that I can count on him.

-Hello class, for some this is your first time meeting me so let me introduce myself again. My name is Alice Perral or Charlotte. I'm an adventurer but like to work at the register. During my time as a receptionist, I've met countless of adventurers and seen them fighting. So, let's jump right to it. If you have your own sword then form a row and those who don't grab one from there and join them.

I was the first in the row with the familiar looking girl. Percy didn't have his own sword and had to borrow one. Like mine the girl's sword was sheathed. It looked like it was made for ice magic but I couldn't tell for sure, I wasn't a blacksmith after all.

The class was simple, we took our stance that we prefer and the teacher watched. If it had something wrong or was simply crazy, she would correct them. I thought that she would be strict but she was surprisingly caring.

She didn't say anything about my stance nor the girls. She still tried to remember who I was but I had already given up worrying about it.

-Now fight the person closest to you.

I looked over to the girl and she was staring me right back. She walked to the closest arena and I followed. I could hear Percy saying something but he was too far away. Maybe he wanted to fight with me but it was now impossible, he was too far away.

We were now staring each other from other sides of the arena. It was a lot smaller than the one in the tournament, it was the size of a tennis field. We both took our stances, she looked at me calmly, she must have a ton of experience took look that calm.

We started our fight but it didn't last too much. It was actually very identical to a fight before. I used my same bot attack by running, slashing, and kicking but she was still standing so I did the same and with magic.

The class ended after own fight was over, so I started to leave, but after leaving I saw the girl that I had just beaten standing in front of me. Was she here for revenge? I hope not.

-What do you want?

-Please...

-Huh?

-PLEASE BE MY MENTOR..... CALEB
