Chapter 8

Sitting on his own Kiyotaka ate the freshly made takoyaki. Savouring the taste of delicious meal he analyzed his encounter with Sunny .

'I am 100% sure that shorty's flaw was the fact he had to answer truthfully. During conversation he subconsciously tried to make simple answers more complex, probably a method he came up with to counter his flaw'

'No need to antogonize that guy..If his Aspect rank is the same as mine, he should be around the same level as me in terms of overall capabilities'

He silently left cafeteria and walked towards an Academy's combat arena. It was time for him to test his own Flaw.

Entering the combat section he was met with Awakened lady , who looked at him with polite smile .

"Sleeper, to proceed futher and combat Nightmare Creatures you are required to fill out the form "

After filling out the form Kiyotaka procceeded futher and entered small enclosed arena. Against him stood an abominable chained creature with many legs that resembled spiders. He also felt gaze of someone else, probably an Awakened that was designed to assist him in case things go south .

Summoning his bloodsword he looked at abominale creature that was released from its chains . Gripping his sword he felt his Flaw affecting his mind, making him feel bloodlust . Without feeling a need to resist it Kiyotaka dashed at his opponent and fought it in close combat . The Spider like abomination was highly immobile and couldnt properly defend as Kiyotaka circled around the creature and chopped off its legs one by one . Soon, the Spider was left limbless and died due to unnaturally high blood loss. The [Bleed] enchantment doing its job.

'What...my war spirit?'

Looking at his runes Kiyotaka promtly calculated his gains . 25 fragments from mundane humans he killed , 4 fragments from 2 Awakened , 4 from Ascendent...and lastly 1 from this Dormant Beast.

'Looks like i dont have to absorb soul shards ...all i have to do is to kill..How convenient'

Despite knowing it he still went and retrieved the soul shard from Spider. Upon trying to absorb it he felt that it was impossible....doesnt mean he wont keep it .

Last but not least he felt his bloodlust subside ...and time being Reset to 24 hours again .

'I wonder what will happen if i dont kill in 24 hours , will i turn into crazy maniac and kill whoever i see before getting my sanity back? Unfortunately, i cant test this theory untill Winter Solistace.'

With many questions and doubts in his mind he left the combat arena . Not that he didnt want to continue fighting, there were just other important things he had to do .

'Lets explore the Academy a bit, and get to know what other perks this Academy provides'

Unfortunately for him, he was escorted towards an office room for an Interview . Apparently, it also had some lie detector so lying wasnt an option . So he did the most common thing , he answered their questions like Sunny would .

"Would you mind telling me about your Aspect?"

"My aspect makes me strong"

"Thats..self evident, would you mind explaining it in more detail"

"When i activate my aspect ability my body becomes stronger and faster"

Things went on like that, with Kiyotaka giving vague answers , effectively annoying the interviewer to the core

"What is your Aspect Rank?"

"Who knows"

"How did you NIghtmare went?"

"Nightmarish"

"Nightmarish....okay, you are free to leave..Sleeper Kiyotaka"

"Bye"

Kiyotaka didnt had any desire to share his information to government, so he effectively dodged their questions with his flawless and complex answers. Feeling like it was time to rest, he went to his room and slumped on warm embrace of his bed.
