Chapter 6

It has been three days since the event in front of the church and Gid'on hasn't left the townhouse since. He's been staying inside ever since the incident, not leaving the building for food or other things for that matter.

Gid'on wasn't sure if he liked this lifestyle. Sure he hadn't really experienced any real trouble or danger, but he also had the luxury of having a roof over his head. It didn't feel right to him. Plus, he was beginning to question how much longer he should stay there without doing anything. He needed to do something.

"I've been thinking..." Started Gid'on.

"Oh great." Answered Morgan.

"Shut up! Just listen, okay?" Interrupted Gid'on. "There are only three of us in this townhouse and all those guys upstairs, plus I can easily take down every single one of them if I had the chance. But I won't."

"What are you talking about?" Asked Morgan.

"I'll try not to fight them in case I accidentally kill someone." Said Gid'on, still watching the television, which displayed a video feed of the whole thing.

Morgan groaned annoyed,"Seriously?! Don't tell me you actually believe you won't die in this situation!"

"Well I mean..." Said Gid'on slowly. "I've never fought anyone seriously before. I've never seen anything like this. How did you deal with it when you were trying to protect your sister?" He asked Morgan.

Morgan sighed,"I told myself if I got attacked then I could fight back by using whatever tools and equipment I found available. It worked at first. At least I didn't get hurt. But I learned my lesson. As you said, I had to get my hands dirty. Besides, it gave me a lot more time to help you with your little problem." He said. "And you weren't as useless as you appear to think you were."

"Yeah right." Said Gid'on sarcastically.

"I'm serious! If I could learn how to defend myself properly, I might even be able to save you sometime during the night and rescue our daughter." Explained Morgan.

"Save our daughter? She's dead... Or does she want to be rescued?" Asked Gid'on quietly.

"Why wouldn't she want to be saved?" Questioned Morgan curiously.

"Because she deserves to be happy!" Sighed Gid'on exasperated, not understanding why Morgan would ask such an obvious question, considering he was obviously confused about the situation.

"Gid, you're acting strangely today, but you don' need to explain yourself to me. You've already done a good job with our family. We're lucky to have you." Replied Morgan.

Gid'on smiled slightly at what Morgan was saying. After hearing what his father told him a couple days ago, he began wondering if maybe his father hadn't completely lost control of his life because of his past mistakes, because of what happened to his mother. Maybe everything was still in control and there would always be a chance to fix the situation.

After he decided to trust his father, he began feeling less guilty about keeping some of his secrets from him. For example, he wasn't planning to tell him about the mysterious person in his dreams or about the strange events of the past few weeks. That wasn't really his fault, though. After everything that had happened, he wanted his father to move past his guilt and realize how wrong he had been, that his son wasn't responsible for what had happened. Gid'on was still mad at him for taking his mother from him. But at least they had each other. Now, his father was probably blaming himself for letting things get out of control, and Gid'on was trying to be the best father that he could be. He tried everything possible in the hopes that his father would stop blaming himself and would finally come around, but he simply couldn'
