9 Chapter 4: Daily Quest and Punishment
[Congratulations! You are the last man standing.
You have awakened an ancestor]
"What the f**k," said as he rose from the hospital bed.
"Where I'm I?" Tahara asked as he turned to look around.
"I've also been healed, what the f**k is happening," he asked himself as he looked at his palm.
"It appears you are awake Mr. Tahara," a man said.
"Who are you," Tahara asked.
"My sincere apologies for not introducing myself," the man said.
"My name is Chikae Tomomi, and I'm the head of those who train swordsmen," he said.
"And what about the one who is walking with you?" Tahara asked.
"I'm Egawa Takenao, and I'm the secondary assistant to those who train swordsmen," he said.
"You have an HQ here in Japan, I never knew," Tahara asked.
"Yes, we have but it's not that far from the clinic," Egawa said.
"Wait, you mean I'm in a clinic," Tahara said.
"Why are you here?" Tahara asked.
"We are here to share some news with you," Chikae asked.
"News!" Tahara said.
"Muto and the rest of the team are alive," he said.
"Muto is alive!" Tahara yelled.
"Thank goodness," he said.
"Unfortunately, Akihito couldn't make it," Tomomi said.
"What about me, how's my condition?" Tahara asked.
"Well, when we found you, you were wounded badly and so our team decided to pick you up since you were the only person who survived in the temple," Tomomi.
"Statues!" Tahara said.
"Did you find any statues in the temples or opened tombs?" Tahara asked.
"There wasn't any opened tomb of such sort, so I don't know what you are talking about," Tomomi said.
"I see," Tahara responded.
"Besides, we assume that you have been awakened by an ancestor," Tomomi said.
"An ancestor!" Tahara said.
"If you truly met an ancestor on your way to the temple or maybe inside the temple, then I'm sure that maybe he/she must have transferred his powers to you," Tomomi explained.
"What do you mean?" Tahara asked.
"If you have been awakened, then that means once rank has been increased to maybe a D or a C," Tomomi explained.
"So, the second reason we are here is to check your rank Tahara Kado," Tomomi said.
Tomomi then brought out a diamond ring and told Tahara to wear the ring.
"Wait, I'm I getting married to you or what?" Tahara asked.
"This ring is to check if you are still an F-Rank swordsman or have risen to a D or C-Rank," Tomomi explained.
Tahara then put on the ring as the ring began to read its ranks.
40 seconds later, it had done scanning Tahara's rank.
"Just as I thought, still an F-Rank swordsman," Tomomi said to himself.
"Well, what are the results?" Tahara asked.
"You are still an F-Rank swordsman," Tomomi replied.
"What would have happened if I were to be awakened, would that make me badass?" Tahara asked.
"That would make you a wanted killer," Tomomi said as he rose.
"Sorry for taking much of your time," he said then left the room.
After they left, a tone started to noise up in Tahara's ears.
"Where's that noise coming from?" Tahara asked.
Tahara checked under the bed but found nothing.
Tahara rose his head upwards and noticed something showing above his head.
Tahara then looked closely at it as it read.

You have an unread message.]
Asahi then shifted the screen to where he can view it properly.
"What's this message about?" Tahara asked.
"What the hell are you doing Tahara Kado," someone said.
"Kunie, like what are you doing here," Tahara asked.
"What do you mean what I'm doing here, I came to see you," she said as she came close to the screen.
"Kunie you are touching the screen," Tahara said.
"What screen are you talking about?" she asked.
"Does this mean I'm the only one that can see what happens on the screen?" he asked himself.
Tahara then opened the mail as Kunie was busily talking.
[Message]
[Welcome Tahara Kado]
[Time to begin training]
"Training!" he said.
"Kunie, can I see you later in about 3 minutes," Tahara pleaded.
Kunie agreed and then left the room.
"Let's see what type of training it's going to be," Tahara said.

[Incomplete] Skipping [0/50]
[Failure Attracts Punishments]
"50 pushups, is this crazy," Tahara asked.
"Gimme a break," Tahara said.
60 seconds later
"The tone again," Tahara said.
[Inability to complete training.]
[Receiving your punishments.]
"Punishments, hmph, it's just going to be me placed in a hot water," he said as he began laughing.
Before Tahara could open his eyes, he was in a different location.
"What place is this, it seems like I'm in New York, or maybe Los Angelos," he said.
As Tahara was talking, a speeding car then came passing by and Tahara managed to dodge it.
"Hey watch it!" Tahara said as he noticed a lot of speeding cars and articulated trucks approaching his direction.
[Punishment]
