Arrogant System!

Mathias noticed the wary expression on the dragon and his position indicating that he was getting ready to take flight.

Not wasting a second, he yelled explaining in case the infant dragon misunderstood him.

"It's me, Tom, the one you met on the day you hatched and gave you to Einar; no need to be afraid I'm only here to deliver something to you."

He couldn't help but find it funny as he saw the hatchling true dragon suspect him even more after he said these words; he even slowly opened his mouth, revealing the dark flames burning inside of his lungs, ready to burn him into ashes if he took any step closer.

Even though Mathias could kill off this true dragon with a single move of his hand, he had no reason to do so, and he didn't even dare to do so in the first place.

When he noticed that the air was getting thicker and might lead to a misunderstanding, he quickly took the letter out and threw it in front of him.

" Here, I was ord... told to deliver this letter to you; open it, and you will understand what I meant." He stopped halfway and changed his wording, least he remembered that day.

Sam didn't take his eyes off Mathias for even a split of a second, and only used his illusory hand to move the letter in front of his face, placing it in a manner that he made sure not to cover his line of sight so he was able to react to this man's movements.

Before he could even open it and read it, the letter turned into countless specks of light and vanished, and the next moment, Sam heard a voice in his mind that made his thoughts go blank, but he quickly calmed down after he digested the information, new light flashing past his eyes.

"Ding, Arrogant System activated"

" What the hell?" Sam didn't know how to think of this situation, but he soon realized what was going on from that first sentence, understanding this whole situation, even though not to its fullest.

Just as he was to ask something inside of his mind to make sure of his own thoughts, a message rang out, and he could see a window pop up before him, as information could be seen scattered across the screen.

There was no one alive in this world that knew his real name, but the screen was clearly showing his name, which then did he confirm his guess.

"The system, experience points, and all of it, it must be that"

He analyzed the situation calmly, and he could tell that there was no other way to explain what was happening to him.

' Seems like my golden finger took a while to start functioning, but why was it delivered to me?'

In every novel Sam read, the system was initiated the first moment the MC opened his eyes; the worst-case scenario would be a few minutes or hours delay.

Yet, his system took almost a week to start functioning, even weirder. It was physically delivered to him in his new world, which made him quite troubled about this situation, unable to comprehend what was happening.

While Sam was deeply in thought about his system, Mathias simply took his leave, not bothered by what happens to this true dragon after receiving the letter of the devil, somehow foreseeing his miserable future.

Sam, on the other hand, stopped thinking about various things at the same time and chose to ask the system directly, which is the most optimal solution if he needed information.

Also; with Mathias taking his leave, he could finally relax and concentrate his full attention on the system.

Yet again, the system beat him into it as it sounded again in his ears; its cold robotic voice made him feel quite uncomfortable.

[Fusion completed; Host can now access the system ]

The familiar sound appeared in Sam's mind and immediately drew his attention.

[Host has received a gift bag from the system, do you wish to open it now?]

The time around him seemed to halt when the screen materialized before him.

"Alright, let's see what I'm dealing with, open the gift bag"

Suddenly, the page he was looking at turned into a red box.

The box opened, and beams of light shot out before abruptly disappearing.

Several dings continued to ring in his mind as the interfaces turned golden.

[Ding! The system has detected that the host is too weak and recommends immediate consumption of the XP pill].

"System, how do I use the pill?"

The interface changed when he asked

"Do you wish to"

"Yes, I do"

Sam rushed it, and he instantly was capable of hearing a series of messages from the system:

Immediately, Sam sensed a surge of power pass through his entire body, causing his scales to sting for a while.

Following that strange sensation was a feeling of extreme comfort. The pores all over his body hidden behind his scales opened up completely, greedily devouring mana from all around.

And in a matter of seconds, he could feel his body experiencing a tremendous change as his scales and muscles became stronger, his body even growing twice in size.

He could feel that his new strength gave him the ability to destroy his cave within a matter of a few claw attacks or a single breath.

Soon, the feeling became familiar hence he hurriedly asked the system about his current situation and why the system was delivered to him by someone.
